THE ELECTRIC SLAYER

Chapter 27: DIMENSIONAL PORTAL (PART I)

???: "Yes! The machine is almost done. just need to make the quantum phase resonator… I need some Plutonium and thorium. Caelia? Search for those elements!"

The surroundings are dark, a lab filled with chemical equipment and computers, and other devices. In front of the figure is a strange machine that looks like a portal.

Suddenly, a feminine but electronic voice echoed in the dark.

Caelia: "searching for plutonium and thorium elements…"

Meanwhile… Ethan had just gone down the stairs of the IHO building. He looked around one last time before walking to the exit, where he bumped into Agent 10.

Ethan: "Oh, hey! agent 10!"

Agent 10: "Oh, hello there, Ethan. What brings you here?"

Ethan: "This company is weird… I mean, the number one hero is a fifth-dimensional being! And yet I was able to hit her."

Agent 10: "You what…?"

Agent 10's face was stoic as it always was, but deep down, he was shocked. The fact that he had been able to even scratch a fifth-dimensional being is impossible… how?!

Agent 10: "You were able to hit an almost god-like being?!"

Ethan just nodded, and they then began walking side-by-side. Agent 10 changed the subject because the mere possibility of that happening was below zero!

Agent 10: "Still using that name?"

Ethan: "You mean the electric slayer?"

Agent 10: "You should change it, it's too brutal."

Ethan: "Says you, who has a name that is agent then a number!"

Agent 10: "OK! Fine! Choose one for me then!"

Ethan: "Yeah! OK… how about… agent droid?… nah… Herobot!"

Agent 10: "I prefer agent 10… but fine… I'll choose Herobot…"

Agent 10 sighed but shrugged, he knew that part of being a hero is choosing a name to be recognized as…

Suddenly, Agent 10 stopped, his face furrowed, and he put two fingers on the side of his head and nodded. He then looked at Ethan and nodded.

Ethan smirked. He knew what that meant; there was a crime happening, and he needed to stop it.

Ethan: "Come on, HEROBOT! Tell me about what the crime is."

Herobot: "There was a break-in at a nearby nuclear lab."

Ethan: "What?? Nuclear? Bruh. That's TOTALLY not dangerous."

Herobot: "Which is why we need to stop it immediately."

Herobot turned his feet into rockets and flew away. Ethan followed him at the same speed, but on the ground, they weaved through the streets, past buildings and cars, and people.

When they arrived, they saw a large building that was a science lab. They went in and saw that there were police officers all over the room, some investigating broken glass, others interrogating scientists.

A police officer walked up to them. He was a middle-aged man with a muscular body.

Police officer: "So you two are the heroes who decided to investigate?"

Ethan: "Yep, we're here."

Herobot: "OK. Tell us, what have you discovered so far?"

The police officer nodded and walked into the back of the room. He opened a door, and on the other side was a lab filled with machines, vials, and other equipment.

Ethan and Herobot investigated the room, and there was no evidence of any break-in except for the broken glass in the lobby; at least it wasn't visible to the naked eye.

Herobot looked at the cameras and saw that all of them were broken. It meant that someone didn't care if there was evidence that they were there; they only cared about the goods.

Herobot: "Well, it seems that our thief was slightly careless."

Ethan: "Yeah… look at that, looks like foot-tracks."

police officer: "What? Where? I don't see any tracks."

Ethan followed the purple tracks. Soon enough, Herobot noticed them; they were chemical residue in the shape of a footprint.

Herobot: "Looks like we found our culprit. And the foot-steps are electrically charged too, that's why you can see them, Ethan."

Ethan: "Makes sense. Now, let's see where they lead…"

Ethan followed the footsteps while Herobot tested the chemicals to know what they were exactly. After a few seconds, Ethan followed the footsteps to an open window. Strangely, there was a tiny black cylinder on the window.

Ethan: "That's strange…"

Herobot: "I finished analyzing the chemical, it's Iron Sulfide, it's highly sensitive, any exposure to the air or any pressure will cause it to oxidize and explode."

Ethan: "A trap… Huh?"

Police officer: "Where are they? Where are the traps?"

The police officer walked around the room, confused.

It was a stupid move because he stepped on one of the foot-steps, so after a few seconds, fire burst on the foot-step, which caused a chain reaction, which caused an explosion.

Luckily, Ethan used his super-speed to slow down time, and then he immediately pulled everyone out of the building, whether they were police or not.

Then he finally got herobot out and made time flow normally again. Everyone looked around, confused, but almost immediately, a large BOOM! Sound came from inside, fire burst out of the building, and rubble flew into the sky and down on the ground.

Ethan used his powers to destroy the rubble by making lightning strike it.

Ethan: "Guess who ever planned it was one extreme introvert… He didn't even say hello!"

Herobot: "We are going against a formidable opponent here. And I have a feeling that we haven't seen the last of them."
