THE ELECTRIC SLAYER

Chapter 25: RANK

Ethan was at home, and he was on his laptop. He was bored; he had fought crime, trained, and played video games, so he went to the IHO website and checked the rankings. He found himself as rank B number 157; it seems a lot more people have joined the IHO than he had anticipated, but he did get promoted from C rank, which was good.

Ethan: "Cool! I think I should train more and maybe create more moves to broaden my abilities."

Ethan got up and walked out of the house. He then charged his legs and got ready to run. With a large gust of wind, a faint boom, Ethan was weaving through the streets, dodging cars, running to the top of a building, and jumping off and charging away.

He then arrived at the space that he and his friends always trained, he looked around and saw that no one was around, he got ready to train, or at least try making new moves and ways to win.

He tested the tentacle-like hands that he used sometimes when fighting. He then focused on it, putting all of his attention on improving them. Then it changed form, it switched from a hand to a sharp-edged knife, then it changed again to a hammer-like shape.

Ethan focused more, and it started to change color, from yellow to blue to purple to red, then it disappeared.

He then smirked and looked at a random spot, and then some dirt got lifted upwards. It was the now-invisible hand lifting the dirt and holding it in place. He then made the hand go back into his back and disappear.

He then knelt and took a rock which was as big as his hand. He then made his hand vibrate, which made the rock vibrate too. After some time, it began warming up, and then, when it was extremely hot, he instinctively threw it. He then looked at his hand, which was red, and he held it and shook his hand.

Ethan: "Ack! Hot!… Yeah, what did I expect?… Maybe I should ask the IHO to make a fire and water-proof suit… I'm not in my suit right now, so…"

Ethan went back to his home in the same way that he went to the space.

The next day after school, he went into the IHO and saw that it had finally finished being built. The interior was as you'd expect, white, polished, and modern-looking.

There were couches that people were sitting in, and the cashiers were busy; the people on the couches were either talking to each other, others were playing with their powers.

Ethan walked past the lines of people and saw a sign next to the stairs, the sign was about the different divisions and which floor they were at.

The training grounds were on floors 2 to 6, the offices were on floors 7 to 9, the design division, where suits are made and designed, is on floors 10 to 12, and the rest, which are offices for the higher-ups and the dormitory for the best heroes.

Ethan turned to the stairs, right next to it were the elevators, but he ignored them and zoomed up the stairs to the design department. He then arrived and walked towards the front desk.

The man behind the counter looked at Ethan. He was surprised that he suddenly appeared; he felt wind hit, which was impossible since they were in a building, but it was possible when Ethan was there.

Ethan walked to the man, he put his suit and helmet on the counter, and the man nodded.

man: "Hello, sir… You want a new suit or an upgrade?"

Ethan: "An upgrade, maybe change the design to fit me… also, please email me the designs before making them."

man: "Yes, sir, I will. Can you please tell me your name and hero name?"

Ethan: "I am Ethan, the electric slayer."

The man turned to Ethan and lifted his eyebrow at the mention of "slayer".

man: "Isn't that name a bit too violent for a hero? Surely the electric guard or the electric protector is better."

Ethan: "Well, I couldn't think of a cool and less violent name that wasn't cringe or… not cool… so I got this… plus last time I asked AI, it said that a guy like me fits the name because I can end someone whenever… dark… I know… but I can"

Ethan shrugged casually. The man was a little bit creeped out by his casual demeanor. He then took the suit and nodded, and walked towards a door that was next to the counter, then after a few minutes, he came out.

man: "OK, your new suit design will be ready in a short number of days. There are a lot of requests. We will send it when it is ready."

Ethan nodded and walked down the stairs to the training floors just so he could test his abilities. When he walked in, there were a lot of people hitting punching bags and other stuff. He then went down a floor and saw people fighting each other.

He lifted his eyebrow and walked in. As soon as he walked in, someone shot a fireball at him. Ethan heard the fireball because of his enhanced hearing, which he needed for his superspeed.

It was a man who threw it at him, and with a single, swift movement, Ethan was now behind the man.

The man jumped and punched Ethan, who didn't even flinch, because it was an afterimage. The man was scared for his life, trying to hit Ethan instinctively, but Ethan dodged every hit thrown at him, like it was a game.

When Ethan began to feel bored, he caught one of the man's punches and punched his stomach back, which was strong. Ethan still wasn't able to fully control his strength, so the man flew to the ceiling, the loud bang-like sound of Ethan's hit over shadowed the rest of the people's fighting…

Ethan stared with wide eyes as the man fell back to the ground and held his stomach. He then crawled and sat at the edge of the room. Everyone was staring at Ethan, then someone decided to attack him.

The person was a woman; he didn't want to hurt a woman… Directly at least… So he kept dodging as the woman kept throwing punches. Ethan was backed up to a wall, and the woman was about to punch his face, but he moved his head just enough to dodge it.

Her hand went through the wall and got stuck. The woman tried to pull her hand away. Ethan was impressed by her strength, but he was still wary of dodging any other attackers.

So he used his new power to move things with his "head", and the woman was unstuck, but she was floating in the middle of the air. She kept struggling, but gave up right after.

Ethan kept fighting from one person to another, subduing every one of them. He made sure not to use his strength, but his speed and powers to avoid almost killing them like he did with the first man that attacked him.

After half an hour, the place was filled with people either lying on the ground or floating mid-air, then a man wearing a tuxedo that looked expensive walked into the room and looked around. He then looked at Ethan, who was the one who was still standing…
