Shun had already accepted it—he and Hikaru were now sworn enemies. At first, offending Hikaru didn't matter. After all, Shun was a Mid-Marshal, and Hikaru was only a Mid-Captain. But after the battle against Abyssal Barbarossa, Shun was fully prepared for Hikaru to take revenge.

Tirpitz narrowed her eyes, a red gleam flickering within them. The entire Silent Horizon seemed to be encased in frost centered around her. Even the sea beneath the hundred-thousand-ton warship began to freeze.

Such was the might of the world's number one!

"Commander, shall I kill him? He's too noisy. Like a buzzing mosquito. If I don't swat him and smash his guts and crap out, he'll never understand how small he really is."

Hikaru patted Tirpitz's arm to calm her down. "Why waste your energy on a mosquito? Just treat him like the trash he is."

Hearing Tirpitz's threat, Shun didn't cower at all—in fact, it was as if he'd seized the perfect opportunity. His face flushed with excitement as he pointed at Hikaru and Tirpitz, shouting loudly for all to hear.

"Look, everyone! The culprit just exposed herself! Did you all hear that? On the Silent Horizon, in front of thousands of fellow officers, she—Tirpitz—threatened to kill a Mid-Marshal like me! What happened to law? What happened to order? Comrades, you all heard her! Representative Murong, don't stay silent. Tell me, aside from Hikaru, who else had a motive to go after Commander Noboru?"

Representative Murong's brows furrowed. The stress instantly aged her a few more years—her brow creased so deeply it could crush a mosquito between the lines.

She swept her eyes across the room. Every Commander, openly or covertly, was now watching her.

In that moment, she knew—she couldn't retreat.

A person in command must rise to the occasion at critical moments. If she showed weakness now, all her authority would collapse. Her position as a Medals Representative sounded impressive, but in truth, her power came entirely from the trust and recognition of the Commanders.

If they saw her as a pushover, then she'd be no more than a glorified clerk in charge of medals—no one would listen to her again.

And of course, all the Commanders had heard what Tirpitz said just now. The Silent Horizon was only about 300 meters long.

And every Commander on board was a high-level extraordinary being—hearing a conversation within 300 meters was trivial.

Hikaru's eyes swept the crowd. He thought to himself, I bet at least 80% of these Commanders were pouring their full attention on me just now.

And that was fair.

If Commander Noboru had any fresh enemies, Hikaru was clearly the most recent. The two had even gotten into a physical altercation. If not for Fleet Admiral Gorou's intervention, it could've ended in bloodshed.

Now, with Commander Noboru suddenly gone—on a ship filled with top-tier extraordinaries and elite shipgirls—how could someone just vanish into thin air, unnoticed by everyone?

"I used to think it impossible," Shun began theatrically, stepping forward, spreading his arms like a stage actor. "That someone could be assassinated right in the middle of a sea of soldiers. That something like that could happen during a modern war—on our most advanced warship, the Silent Horizon? What a fairy tale!"
