The Cultivation Method of Junior Sister is Unscientific

Chapter 72. Is This Really an Alchemy Assessment?

The promotional campaign had reached such a fever pitch that even the disciples within Tianxing Sect began to discuss the matter.

“Have you heard? There’s someone in the market district who’s even more showy than that Yun Jin from Celestial Sword Peak.”

“What do you mean ‘showy’? Be more polite—say ‘flamboyant.’ But I don’t believe it. There can’t possibly be anyone more flamboyant than Junior Sister Yun in this world!”

“They say that four days ago, this person passed the Alchemy Pavilion’s first-grade alchemist assessment by refining pills right on the street while munching on melon seeds. The worst part is, she didn’t clean up the seed shells. Even more outrageous, people collected her discarded shells, claiming they could absorb some of her genius.”

The Tianxing Sect disciples were dumbfounded.

Eating melon seeds did sound eerily similar to Yun Jin’s habits!

Perhaps it was now trendy for geniuses to snack on melon seeds?

Yun Jin was undoubtedly a sword prodigy.

Was this person an alchemy prodigy?

Did that mean they should all start munching on more melon seeds to become geniuses?

“Now she’s going for the second-grade alchemist assessment! She even announced the time, inviting everyone to come and watch. Are you going?”

“Let’s go, let’s go together!”

A group of people immediately set off for the market district!

Ye Danxia overheard several Senior Brothers discussing and approached, hoping to join the conversation.

However, upon seeing her, the Senior Brothers abruptly halted their discussion and regarded her with polite detachment.

“Greetings, Junior Sister Ye.”

Polite, but exceedingly distant.

Ye Danxia, who had intended to say something, suddenly felt a wave of dejection.

What had she done wrong?

Why was everyone giving her the cold shoulder now?

Was it because of what happened with Second Senior Brother?

But she had merely voiced her grievances; she couldn’t control Second Senior Brother’s actions!

Moreover, that Yun Jin hadn’t suffered any real harm. Wasn’t she the one who truly ended up in a miserable state?

Yet after that day, everyone became coldly polite when they saw her. Sometimes, before she could even approach, they would scatter like she was carrying the plague.

What heinous crime had she committed to deserve such treatment?

Ye Danxia, looking pitiful, said, “Senior Brothers, I just heard you chatting happily and wanted to know what you were discussing.”

“Oh, it’s nothing much,” they replied, maintaining their polite facade.

Chen Hao had his dantian ruined trying to help Ye Danxia.

Gu Jinghong lost his freedom for the same reason.

They dared not provoke this Junior Sister with the Celestial Spirit Root anymore. It was best to keep their distance.

Ye Danxia’s eyes instantly welled up with tears. With reddened eyes, she said, “I don’t know what I’ve done to make you all dislike me so much. I… I just wanted to join your conversation.”

As she spoke, tears began to fall.

The group exchanged awkward glances.

One of them, more soft-hearted, opened his mouth to offer some consolation, but another quickly pulled him back.

“Junior Sister Ye, we weren’t really discussing anything important. Just that there’s a genius alchemist in the market district, and we’re planning to go watch the spectacle. If you want to go, you can go by yourself.” With that, he dragged away the soft-hearted disciple, and the group hurriedly departed, as if fearing Ye Danxia might follow.

Ye Danxia’s tears evaporated instantly, and she gritted her teeth.

These people simply didn’t want any association with her, did they?

Fine!

Then they wouldn’t have any!

When she became a supreme powerhouse in the future, these people shouldn’t expect to reap any benefits!

Hmph.

What was so great about watching some genius alchemist anyway?

Her master had already arranged everything with the Divine Pill Peak Master. Although she wouldn’t officially join the Divine Pill Peak, Peak Master Huo Lie would take her on as a half-disciple!

She would learn the art of alchemy all the same.

When she became a genius alchemist herself, she’d see what these people had to say!

With these thoughts, Ye Danxia turned and headed back to the main hall.

Her master had said they would meet Peak Master Huo Lie today.

Originally, she hadn’t been particularly interested in alchemy.

But now?

She was determined to become an alchemy master!

Alchemists held lofty positions. Then, she could show Yun Jin that her meager talents paled in comparison to her own!

As disciples from various sects rushed to the scene, the high platform was surrounded by an impenetrable sea of people before the alchemy assessment even began.

Ming Heng looked on, feeling a headache coming on.

He wondered if he had made a terrible mistake!

They always said alchemists were the most mysterious and noble profession…

But with this girl’s antics, where was the mystery? Where was the nobility?

However, it was too late to back out now. He could only grit his teeth and proceed.

When the appointed time arrived, melodious music suddenly filled the air.

It was a tune “personally” composed by Yue Zhao, which he called “Smiling Proudly in the World.”

The music was grand and captivating, immediately catching everyone’s attention. Those well-versed in music nodded in appreciation.

Truly, it was a melody fit for the heavens.

Yun Jin held back her laughter. “Senior Brother, I had no idea you possessed such talent.”

Yue Zhao replied modestly, “Oh, I just dabble a bit!”

Yun Jin chuckled softly.

She decided to hold her tongue a while longer.

Accumulating more embarrassing moments for her Senior Brother would make his expression even more priceless when he eventually learned that she, too, had been to that world.

“Junior Sister, it’s time. Make your entrance,” Yue Zhao said.

As per Yun Jin’s request, flowers were scattered from above as she affectedly held an umbrella, gracefully taking center stage.

“Hello, everyone! Welcome to my performance sho—I mean, alchemy assessment,” Yun Jin quickly corrected herself upon noticing Ming Heng’s increasingly sour expression.

Ming Heng tightly gripped a nearby disciple’s wrist. “She knows that today is an extremely serious alchemy assessment, right?”

The disciple grimaced. “She… should know, shouldn’t she?”

Ming Heng’s grip tightened further.

The disciple winced but dared not utter a word.

“Today’s alchemy assessment will last four hours, from day to night. Though the time is long, the entertainment will be even longer! During these four hours, we’ll present various exciting performances, ensuring that everyone’s trip here is worthwhile,” Yun Jin announced.

The crowd was bewildered.

Wait a minute. Hadn’t they come to watch an alchemy assessment?

There would be performances during the assessment?

She was actually worried they might get bored watching for four hours!

This person was quite something!

“Emotional value +15.”

“Emotional value +20.”

“Emotional value +18.”

There were no particularly large emotional value gains, but the sheer number of people made up for it.

Ming Heng gritted his teeth. “Is it too late for me to back out now?”

No one responded.

Ming Heng couldn’t help but glance to his side.

The disciple wore a pained expression, unable to speak due to the pain.

Ming Heng quickly released his grip.

The disciple finally breathed a sigh of relief. At this rate, he wasn’t sure if Yun Jin’s assessment would be proper, but his hand was certainly in danger of being crippled first.

Once the emotional value fluctuations had settled, Yun Jin enthusiastically announced, “Now, let’s welcome our examiner for today’s assessment, Master Ming Heng!”

The music started again.

Yun Jin almost burst out laughing.

Had her Senior Brother gone mad? He had actually chosen the theme from “If You Are the One” as the entrance music!

Ming Heng was completely dumbfounded.

Who was he?

Where was he?

Oh, right.

His name was Ming Heng.

The traitor to the entire alchemy world.

From this day forward, alchemists would fall from their pedestal.

And he, Ming Heng, would be forever etched on the pillar of shame.
