The Chronomancer's Odyssey

Chapter 10: To Planet Khorad-7

Holographic boards flickered with vibrant colors, showcasing an array of missions for the eager participants. Drones zipped overhead, offering suggestions and guidance to those who sought direction.

The hall was a tapestry of diversity, with individuals of various species and backgrounds mingling together. Each person wore their unique traits like badges of honor, from shimmering scales to intricate tattoos, creating a kaleidoscope of colors and cultures.

Arion took a moment to absorb the atmosphere around him. He felt a mix of excitement and nervousness as he surveyed the room. After a few moments, his eyes landed on a small group of three individuals huddled together, their expressions serious yet determined.

Gathering his courage, Arion approached the trio. He could sense their shared commitment to the mission at hand, and he felt an instinctual pull to be part of their team.

"Hey there! I noticed we all have the same mission," he said, a friendly smile breaking across his face. "Mind if I join you?"

The three turned to him, sizing him up for a brief moment.

A muscular warrior with blue skin and yellow eyes stepped forward first. "Sure, we could use another hand. I'm Torrak. What's your name?"

The second member was a thin assassin adorned with spiky bone protrusions on his forearms. He regarded Arion with a curious glint in his eyes. "I'm Kethar Droz. Just be ready to keep up."

The last member was a female marksman with pink skin, red hair, and two prominent horns. An energy sniper rifle slung across her back made her look formidable. "And I'm Vespera. Let's make this mission worthwhile."

"I'm Arion Chronos, a mage," he replied.

As they exchanged names and brief backgrounds, Arion felt the camaraderie begin to form among them. Each member shared their unique skills and motivations for participating in the mission, creating a foundation of trust.

The warrior, eager for glory and to test his mettle in battle. "I've fought in many skirmishes, but this one feels different. We're going to make a name for ourselves!"

The assassin, seeking to prove his worth and hone his skills. "Just remember, sometimes it's not about strength. Stealth and precision can win a battle before it even begins."

The marksman, driven by a desire to protect her allies and showcase her sharpshooting talents. "I'll keep an eye on the long-range threats. No one will get past me if I have a say in it."

Their introductions sparked a lively discussion about their mission objectives and strategies.

With their names exchanged and a budding alliance formed, the group began their search for additional team members. They approached various individuals, engaging in brief conversations to gauge their skills and willingness to join.

After several minutes of poaching, they successfully added two more members to their team:

A Human, much like Arion, who introduced himself with a confident smile. "I'm Damon, a mage specializing in support magic. I can help keep us all in fighting shape!"

A tall, well-toned female with brown skin and brown hair stepped forward. She wielded an energy shield and a hefty hammer. "I'm Kira. I may not be a mage, but my strength and defense will be invaluable in the heat of battle."

With their team now complete, Arion felt a surge of excitement. They stood together, a diverse group united by a common mission.

"Alright team, let's get ourselves registered," Torrak said, leading the way towards the entrance of the mission hall. A female employee was stationed there, ready to register the mission and its members on a sleek device.

As they approached, the employee looked up and smiled warmly. "Welcome! What mission are you all registering for?"

Torrak stepped forward confidently. "We're here for the Subjugation Mission. Here's the mission brief."

The employee began typing rapidly, her fingers flying over the device. "And all your names, please?"

"Torrak, warrior," he said.

"Kethar Droz, assassin," Kethar added.

"Vespera, marksman," she chimed in with a nod.

"Arion Chronos, mage," Arion introduced himself.

"Damon, support mage," Damon followed suit.

"Kira, defender," Kira finished, a smile on her face.

"Great! You're all set," the employee said, confirming their registration with a flick of her wrist. "Good luck on your mission!"

"Thank you!" they chorused, excitement bubbling in their voices.

With their mission registration complete, Arion and his team set off toward the transportation terminal. The excitement buzzed in the air as they walked together, chatting animatedly about their upcoming adventure.

"So, what do you think we'll encounter on Khorad-7?" Kira asked, flexing her fingers around the handle of her hammer.

"Hopefully, something that will test our skills," Torrak replied with a grin. "I'm itching for a good fight!"

"Let's just hope it's not too dangerous," Damon chimed in, his brow furrowing slightly.

After a few minutes of walking, they finally arrived at a tall building that towered over the surrounding structures. The terminal was bustling with activity, and numerous elevators lined the walls, each marked with glowing indicators.

"Here we are," Torrak announced, leading the way inside. They entered one of the elevators, and as the doors closed, the atmosphere shifted to one of anticipation.

The elevator began to ascend, and Arion felt a rush of excitement. The group exchanged nervous glances, all feeling the thrill of the unknown.

Finally, the elevator came to a stop, and the doors slid open with a soft chime. They stepped out into the transport terminal, which was filled with travelers coming and going.

Torrak took the lead again, striding toward the virtual ticket counter. The employee behind the screen greeted him with a friendly smile.

"Absolutely!" the employee replied, tapping on her screen. "We have a ship leaving shortly. Just a moment while I pull up the details."

After a brief pause, she looked up again. "As for the payment for the ticket, how would you like to handle that?"

"Just bill it to the Crimson Blade Mercenary Guild," Torrak stated matter-of-factly. "It's standard practice for missions like this."

The employee nodded in understanding, a knowing glint in her eyes. "Of course! The guild will cover your transport fees. Just a moment while I arrange everything."

The employee quickly called for another staff member to guide them to the ship. After a short wait, a cheerful guide arrived, dressed in the terminal's uniform.

"Follow me, please!" the guide said, leading them through a series of corridors lined with holographic displays advertising various destinations.

As they walked, Arion couldn't help but admire the sleek architecture and the hustle and bustle of the terminal. The anticipation was palpable, each step taking them closer to their mission.

Finally, they reached the docking area, where a massive spaceship loomed before them, its design both intimidating and awe-inspiring.

"Wow!" Arion gasped, his eyes wide with amazement. The ship looked like a mini city with its towering structure and intricate design. "This is incredible!"

The interior of the spaceship was a labyrinth of stalls and shops, bustling with activity as other travelers milled about. Bright lights illuminated the space, creating an atmosphere that felt lively and inviting.

"This looks amazing," Kira said, her voice filled with wonder. "I didn't expect it to be this big!"

Torrak, Kethar, and Vespera exchanged impressed glances but were more focused on their mission than the ship itself.

"Let's find our seats," Torrak suggested, leading the way.

They began to navigate through the ship, taking in the sights around them. The walls were adorned with vibrant murals depicting various planets and adventures, inspiring dreams of exploration.

They quickly found a row of seats and settled in, still buzzing with excitement.
