The Boy Next DOOR.

Chapter 36: Shadow.

Two weeks later.

A guy in a black hood walked along a forest pathway, his sword securely fastened at his side. He moved with the quiet confidence of someone accustomed to danger. As he walked, something moved swiftly in front of him—so fast that if not for his heightened senses, he might have dismissed it as his imagination.

He stopped and scanned his surroundings, but saw nothing. As he was about to continue, he sensed it again, this time moving behind him. Instinctively, he gripped the hilt of his sword, his eyes darting around, trying to pinpoint the source.

"Whoever you are, step out. I do not like the games of hide and seek," he ordered, preparing for a possible attack.

A figure appeared before him, revealing a man with a wolfish air about him, but not from Sebastian's side.

"Shall you take the honor of introducing yourself? What clan are you from?" Sebastian asked, still holding his sword.

"Oh, easy there, Mr. Sebastian. I'm not here to fight or cause trouble. I'm just here to get some information from you," the man said casually.

"What information? I don't know you, and I demand an introduction. You can't just come and inconvenience me; as you can see, I have somewhere to be," Sebastian said coldly.

"I see you're not the friendly type, Seb. I'll get straight to the point. My name is Aron," the stranger introduced, keeping his tone light.

"That would be better," Sebastian responded, unimpressed.

"Almost all the clans have heard that you met with the unclaimed and his new lover. I'm here to ask if you've killed him because, on the contrary, he's our enemy, everyone's enemy—your enemy. Hope you know that?"

"I don't understand what you're saying. Which unclaimed? I haven't come across anyone, neither the unclaimed, so please, you've got the wrong information."

"Oh, Seb! I see where you're going. Are you trying to cover up for him? You know it won't do you or any of us any good. Okay, why don't we join force together we will take him down at once."

"I don't understand what you're saying, so please, step out of my way," Sebastian said, stepping forward.

"Mr. Seb, don't act dumb. I know you know who I'm talking about—Kelvin, the son of Leonidas." Thunder struck the sky as Aron said the name, making him flinch, though he quickly composed himself. Sebastian noted the reaction but said nothing.

"You understand what I'm saying without me even explaining myself, Seb," Aron continued.

"So, what if I know what you are saying? What does that indicate?"

"From the look of it, you haven't ended his life yet. I don't know why that is, but I want you to give me his location so we can end things once and for all. It won't hurt for you to tell me otlr for us to work together."

"I'm sure your leader told you that if you bring him dead or kill him, you will be rewarded. That's why you want to do this," Seb said, his eyes narrowing.

"Oh, you're quite smart, but that's none of your business. Just tell me where he is and I'm offering you something great, we can both destroy kelvin"

" Firstly, Why should I tell you? Secondly, why should I join force with you, If you're that capable, look for him yourself."

"You know that's not possible. He's keeping his energy at base so no one can figure out where he's hiding."

"And that's none of my business," Sebastian retorted.

"Look, Seb, don't let us go the hard way. Kindly tell me where that bastard is!" Aron shouted, frustration creeping into his voice.

"Look, mister, keep your voice down when talking to me. I hate noise," Sebastian warned, his patience wearing thin.

"I see you don't like it the easy way," Aron said, drawing his sword.

"I also don't like talking with cowards," Sebastian replied, drawing his own sword.

"If we were to go in full form, who do you think would win?" Aron taunted.

"I don't know, and I won't go in full form for a nuisance like you. I won't waste my strength on you."

"Oh, are you scared I will win?"

"Your mouth stinks. Are we fighting or not?" Sebastian challenged, his expression darkening.

"You know what? I wanted to go easy, but I don't think you're worth it," Aron said as he lunged forward, sword aimed at Sebastian. With a swift, precise move, Sebastian sidestepped and beheaded Aron in one fluid motion.

Silence fell over the forest. Aron's body collapsed to the ground, and his head rolled away, blood pooling on the forest floor.

"Tch, is this the one who wants to kill Kelvin? All these people must be joking," Sebastian muttered, wiping his sword on Aron's cloak.

"I don't like doing all this shit, but I can't let Dave get involved in all this. He's too fragile for all this. If Dave weren't with him, it'd be none of my business," he sighed, walking over to Aron's body and drawing out the soul with his powers.

"I don't want you wandering around to create disturbances," he said, kicking Aron's body aside.

"Mtch, now I'll have more of them chasing me," Sebastian grumbled in annoyance.

Sheathing his sword, he continued his journey, the weight of his mission heavy on his mind.

"They just wish to ruin my good mood," Sebastian groaned, pressing forward, his mind already calculating his next move

Sebastian continued his journey, gracefully navigating the forest pathway with practiced ease. The afternoon sun filtered through the dense canopy, casting dappled shadows on the ground. His sword, sheathed at his side, glinted faintly with each measured step. Unbeknownst to him, a dark shadow lurked just beyond the edge of the trees, moving with a silent, predatory grace.

The shadow shifted fluidly, blending seamlessly with the play of light and darkness cast by the foliage. It moved like a chameleon among the trees and bushes, slipping in and out of view with every turn and pause Sebastian made. The intruder's every movement was calculated, every step deliberate to avoid detection.
