Chapter 6: The fall down of Black Sun

As Haruki ascended to the third level, his eyes scanned the dimly lit cave, alert for any threats. Suddenly, out of the shadows, a spider the size of a dog lunged at him. Reacting quickly, he attempted to dodge, but the creature's long, sticky legs caught his foot. With a sharp, searing pain, Haruki felt the creature's fangs sink into his leg.

"Ugh!" Haruki gritted his teeth as he stumbled, barely managing to regain his balance. Dante, moving with deadly speed, stepped in and cleaved the spider in half with his sword.

"Are you okay?" Dante asked, concern in his voice.

Haruki winced, the bite throbbing. "I'm fine, just a little bite. Nothing serious."

Before they could catch their breath, the ground trembled as more spiders began emerging from the shadows, their eyes gleaming in the dark. Haruki brandished his weapon, his Lunar Blade style lighting up the cave with each swift slash. But the spiders were quick, their bodies skittering like shadows, too fast to catch in one blow.

"They're too fast!" Haruki cursed as a spider leaped at him, its venomous fangs aimed at his throat. He parried with his blade, but a web shot out and wrapped around his body, trapping him in place. His heart raced as the web tightened around him, the spiders closing in.

"Aiko! Help!" he shouted, his voice strained as he struggled against the bonds.

Aiko moved without hesitation, summoning her freezing powers to encase the webbing in ice. The web began to crack and splinter, but the spiders were already launching more attacks. With a hissing sound, one of them spat a glob of poisonous acid toward them. The venom sizzled as it hit the stone floor, releasing a toxic steam into the air.

Haruki vanished, using his Assassin's Technique to disappear into the shadows, just as the acid missed him by inches. He moved silently, cutting down spiders as he reappeared in different spots around the cavern. But the swarm was overwhelming. He couldn't keep up.

One of the spiders, larger than the others, grabbed him from behind, its sharp mandibles sinking into his side. It tossed him like a ragdoll across the cavern, and he crashed into the stone wall with a sickening thud. Haruki groaned in pain as he struggled to regain his footing.

"That's the boss," he muttered through gritted teeth, recognizing the massive spider towering over the rest of the horde. It was twice the size of the other spiders, its dark exoskeleton glistening like obsidian. Its eyes locked onto him with a malevolent gleam.

Before Haruki could react, the massive spider lunged forward, its legs reaching out with terrifying speed. The giant creature grabbed him by the torso, lifting him off the ground effortlessly. With a guttural screech, the spider slammed him into the walls of the cave, tossing him from side to side like a toy.

Dante and Aiko tried to intervene, but the spider was too fast. Dante slashed through the webbing that held Haruki in place, but just as Haruki fell to the ground, the giant spider seized him again. It pinned him to the floor with a single, crushing strike from its legs. The ground beneath them shook as the spider began tearing through the cave, collapsing parts of the tunnel as it rampaged.

Haruki, bloodied and battered, barely managed to lift his head as the spider loomed over him, ready to strike again. The weight of the creature's body pinned him down, and the pain in his leg flared as he tried to move. Desperation surged through him. His weapon was useless against the spider's tough exoskeleton.

"Come on…" Haruki grunted, summoning the last of his strength. He managed to crawl free for a brief moment, but before he could make a move, the spider kicked him across the cave with brutal force. Haruki slammed into the wall once more, his body too beaten to respond.

Pain clouded his vision as he tried to get up, but his leg refused to support him. He could barely lift one of his eyes before the spider advanced, preparing to deliver the final blow. The air was thick with tension.

Just as the spider's jaws opened wide, Aiko screamed, using her remaining strength to dive in front of Haruki.

"No!" Haruki shouted, helpless.

The spider's fangs sank into Aiko's stomach, and she let out a choked gasp. Blood poured from the wound, staining the ground beneath her. Haruki's eyes went wide with horror, the sight of Aiko protecting him driving him to the brink of madness.

"Aiko… Why?" he whispered, his voice breaking with the weight of the sacrifice.

The spider's massive legs moved to strike again, but Dante was not fast enough to intervene. Haruki's breath came in ragged gasps as he felt the presence of death closing in. With the last of his strength, he raised his weapon, but it was too late. The spider loomed over them, and the ground began to quake once more as the battle reached its brutal peak. The chapter ends
