The Alpha Soulbound Mate [BL]

Chapter 11: Chapter 12: The council’s decree

Victor, Alpha of the storm bhinger Pack, stood before the Council of Werewolves' Elders, his confident demeanor masking his true intentions.

"Elders, I come seeking guidance," Victor began. "Alpha Asher's untimely passing leaves the Blackwood Pack vulnerable. And Kaiden, his son, is but a 15 years old child, He's young and untested. He cannot possibly lead the pack effectively."

The Elders exchanged skeptical glances, but Victor pressed on.

"I have the experience and strength to protect and guide the Blackwood Pack. Temporarily, of course. Once Kaiden comes of age, I will gladly step aside and allow him to reclaim his rightful place as Alpha."

Elder Cedric , a wise and aged werewolf, leaned forward. "And why should we trust you, Victor? Your pack's history with the Blackwood Pack is... complicated."

Alpha Victor's expression turned contrite. "Past conflicts aside, my goal is the well-being of our kind, we might have never seen eye to eye on certain things , but I've never wished him death. I swear to protect the Blackwood Pack and its interests until Kaiden is ready."

The Elders conferred among themselves, their whispers and nods betraying their wavering resolve.

Elder Rafeal spoke up, "Very well, Victor. We will appoint you as Interim Alpha of the Blackwood Pack until Kaiden reaches maturity."

Victor's face remained neutral, but his eyes gleamed with triumph.

"Thank you, honored Elders. I promise to serve the Blackwood Pack faithfully."

The Elders dispatched a messenger, a swift werewolf named Lucas, to inform Kaiden of their decision.

Lucas departed, unaware of Victor's true intentions.

Victor smiled to himself, his plan is unfolding perfectly, his Agenda is to dominate the werewolf world and control the lucrative supernatural economy, and the easiest way to achieve that is by taking over the biggest and strongest pack first and Blackwood pack is the king of werewolves packs.

Victor's smile grew wider as he contemplated his next move. "The Blackwood Pack's resources and territory will soon be mine," Victor whispered to himself. "And with Reginald's backing, Ravenwood Enterprises will crush Blackwood corporations ."

Lucas ran through the forest, the Elders' message burning in his mind. He had been tasked with informing Kaiden of the Council's decision.

As he approached the Blackwood Pack's territory, Lucas detected the scent of guards patrolling the borders. He identified himself, and the guards allowed him to pass.

Upon arriving at the pack house , Lucas requested an audience with Kaiden. Tyler , Beta of the Blackwood Pack, greeted him.

"Lucas, what brings you from the Council?"

Lucas bowed respectfully.

"Elder Cedric sends a message to Kaiden, son of Asher. The Council has appointed Victor, Alpha of the storm bhinger Pack, as Interim Alpha of the Blackwood Pack until Kaiden comes of age."

Beta Tyler's expression darkened.

"What? That's outrageous!"

Lucas handed Tyler a sealed parchment.

"The Elder's letter explains their decision. Kaiden is summoned to the Council to acknowledge Victor's temporary leadership."

Tyler's eyes narrowed.

"Tell the Elders Kaiden will not relinquish control without a fight."

Lucas nodded.

"I will deliver your response, beta Tyler . But be warned, Alpha Victor will not hesitate to use force."

With the message delivered, Lucas departed, sensing the brewing storm between the Blackwood and storm bhinger Packs.

Beta Tyler, entered Kaiden's bedroom , his expression serious.

"Kaiden, I have a message from the Council," Tyler said, handing Kaiden the sealed parchment Lucas had delivered.

Kaiden's eyes narrowed as he took the parchment, recognizing the Council's crest.

"What is it, beta Tyler?" Kaiden asked, breaking the seal.

Tyler's voice was low. "Lucas, the Council's messenger, brought this. It concerns Victor's appointment as Interim Alpha."

Kaiden's eyes scanned the parchment, his face darkening as he read it out loud,

"Kaiden, son of Asher, you are summoned to the Council of Werewolves' Elders. Come prepared to relinquish control of the Blackwood Pack."

Crumpling the parchment and tossing it inside a waste bin . "Victor thinks he can take our pack?" Kaiden's voice grew menacing, his eyes blazing with defiance.

"Relinquish control? Never," Kaiden growled. "I am the rightful successor."

Beta Tyler stood firm. "We won't let that happen, Kaiden. You're our rightful Alpha we won't recognize Victor's claim."

Kaiden's determination hardened. "I'll attend the Council meeting, but I won't back down."
