Chapter 171 - Meeting Alexandra Again
I didn't bother to knock on her door before entering. I didn't think she deserved the slightest respect for what she had tried to pull against me. She had tried to lie to the Emperor about my actions, something so despicable that she deserved everything that would be headed in her direction.
I walked right, and I saw them sitting on her chair, writing on some kind of paper; her head suddenly rose because of the noise I had made entering.
Still, she didn't look surprised to see, nor did she look panicked.
She seemed relaxed, not worried whatsoever about what I would be doing next.
In fact, she barely even greeted me as she just sighed and said, "Ah… so you're finally back, took you long enough."
I could feel myself fuming at those words; however, I did my best to keep calm. I didn't want to attack her right away; I wanted to know about the reasons for her actions.
Why had she lied to the Emperor? Why had she followed me all the way to the ancient tribe's village? Why had she asked for a student to look at me, even taking videos of myself?
Those actions were definitely strange, and they were not something that I had expected out of a director.
"I am. And I talked a little with the Emperor before coming here. Do you know what he told me?"
I tried to apply pressure in whatever way I could. However, she still did not care in the slightest.
"Oh, you talked to him. That's good, we don't want misunderstandings to spread, right?"
I clenched my jaw at those words. "He told me that you delivered the message I gave you to him. However, it seems you changed some of its content."
"I did?" She smirked, still writing down. "That's strange. Maybe it was because of how panicked I was when you gave it to me, considering that you were on the verge of attacking and maybe even killing me…"
Ah, so that's the route she was going for. I was wondering why she was so relaxed. But did she honestly believe that I would care about such things? Of course not.
Why would I care about some pathetic excuses?
"I see. Then maybe you panicked when you gave your phone number to Jackson so that he could call you and give you our position? That must be why, right?"
She finally raised her head and smiled before answering, "Actually, that wasn't the reason. I was just worried about the students, so I asked him to tell me where you were. After all, the Snowy Mountains are a really dangerous place that isn't suited for first-year students. That's the only reason why I did such a thing."
She was trying to say that she cared about students. It was honestly laughable and clearly false.
However, I still kept my calm as I walked over to the chair before her desk and sat down, placing both my feet on her desk without a care in the world.
"So," I smirked. "Are you going to keep pretending that you didn't do anything wrong, or will you admit it? I'm just warning you, but depending on your answers, my actions will vary."
Alexandra did not even hesitate. "What are you talking about? I didn't do anything wrong."
And that right there was too much to handle. Did she really think that I did not have the balls to attack her on the academy grounds? There's no way she would be so stupid as to think such a thing, right?
I retracted my feet from her desk, which was filled with all kinds of letters and documents. I walked around her desk very slowly, before standing right beside her as she kept her eyes fixated on the documents before her.
"If I were you, I wouldn't try anything. It wouldn't be good for your reputation."
Ok, this time, she really made me laugh.
Reputation?
Did I look like I cared about something like that?
"Reputation? Are you really that stupid that you never noticed that I couldn't give two shits about that?" I continued to smirk. "If I want to, I can slam your head on the desk right there and make you a fucking cripple."
"I don't think you realize who the fuck you're talking to. I'm not some random soldier that you can order around. I'm Caedrel Stuart, the first Sage to have appeared after centuries, so either bow your head down and admit your faults or… I don't even want to think about it."
However, even with those threats, she remained calm. It made me think that something was wrong. However, there was nothing that I could see that would indicate such a thing. There was no reason for me to even be slightly worried, but even then, I was overthinking.
"What are you doing? Weren't you going to slam my head onto my desk?" She asked with a smile as she looked back in my direction. "Oh, powerful Sage…"
Did I just dream just now?
Did she really mock me?
"You really didn't make this any easier on yourself, huh? Well, if that's what you want. Then that's what you will get."
"Yeah, go ahead. Beat me up so that you can feel satisfied…" She continued. "However, I don't think you will beat me up. Do you know why?"
"Why?" I asked because I was truly on the verge of slamming her head against the desk before me.
"Because you know that everything I did isn't something deserving of such things. All I did was actually what I said beforehand. I was worried about the students, and I never tried to betray humanity. I'm not a demon; sure, I did lie to the Emperor. But I did it because you are unhinged. No one can control you, so I thought it was better for you to be discarded from our alliance." She continued to smile at those words, convinced that I wouldn't do anything. "You said it yourself. You are a Sage, someone capable of wielding all the powers in this world. You're stronger than I will ever be. However, what good is that power if you continue to act as you wish."
"The Emperor will never tell you. But he is certainly scared of you and the actions you take. Isn't it normal? After all, if you really wanted to, you could probably take over the entirety of the Human Kingdom. The only reason why you aren't doing it is probably because you think it's a bother or something along those lines. That's why I lied to the Emperor. And that's why I don't think you won't hit me. I didn't do anything 'wrong' at the end of the day."
I wasn't sure what to say to those words because of how stupid they sounded.
Did she really think that such a speech would make me not want to beat her up?
Yes, I'm unhinged.
Yes, I do whatever the fuck I want.
Who wouldn't? I have so much strength that I could take over the human kingdom without a doubt.
She doesn't even know of my connections with some of the strongest people in the world. She doesn't even know who my master is. She ignores so many things about me, but she dares to comment on me.
Her reasons for her actions are not good ones. At least, not to my eyes. They are pathetic reasons to make her feel better, and truth be told, I just wanted to fucking punch that resting bitch face she has.
"Well, you guessed wrong. I want you gone, and you will be gone after I'm done with you. Even the Emperor doesn't trust you anymore because of your lies, and do you really think he will do something if I kill you right now?"
"Kill me if you want. I said what I had to say."
Then, she turned her head back toward her documents and continued writing as if I wasn't there in the first place.
However, it only made me more angry. That arrogant behavior was the reason why I was here. If only she knew her place… none of this would have even happened in the first place.
"Before I do what I have to do, I have one question, and I want you to answer it truthfully. Are there any other demons who have infiltrated the Academy?"
She smiled at those words and looked back to face me. "Maybe, all I will say is that you should be careful who you share the information you gather with. When we found out about Derek, we observed all the professors closely, and you wouldn't even believe me if I told you who we believe to be a demon."

I didn't have to be a genius to know who she was talking about. I was close with a single professor… Ava.
"You really think she's one?"
Alexandra shrugged. "Maybe, who knows? You should probably look into it. Find out who the demons hiding within the Academy are. It shouldn't be too hard for you, oh powerful Sage."
