Chapter 169 - Seeing Ava Again
One hour went by, and I was finally back at the Royal Academy. It had been more than three months since I had been in this place, so it was definitely nice to be back here after accomplishing so much.
On the way to my personal room with Amelia, I hadn't crossed paths with any of the professors. The students were certainly very interested in all of the actions that I had taken recently.
"Is that the new professor of the Apex Class?" One of them had muttered.
"I think so… but didn't you see the news that the director gave? Wasn't he supposed to be replaced by someone else?"
"Yeah, well, that's what was said. I guess there were some problems with his methods. I heard that he was torturing some of his students."
"Well, he even killed Professor Derek in cold blood; he's deranged, that's for sure."
I heard all those things but continued to walk toward my room. However, when I heard that the director wanted to replace me, I was even fuming more. There was a big chance that she wouldn't be the director of this academy once I was done with her.
And I'm sure the director wouldn't care too much about Alexandra being demoted since she had lied to him about my message. Without a doubt, she deserved what was coming for her.
Nevertheless, there were also some comments about Amelia, who was practically stuck around my arm as we walked in the vast hallways of the Royal Academy. Some commented on her beauty, some wondered why she was so close to me… There was bound to be a bunch of rumors that would spread soon enough within the academy.
Still, I didn't care.
"Amelia, can you stay here for the next hour or so? I have some business with another professor."
I was obviously talking about Ava. However, I thought that the best decision was for them not to meet just yet, considering that Amelia knew that there was someone who was interested in me within the Royal Academy. After all, I had told her multiple times that there was someone waiting for me in this kingdom. Continue reading stories on empire
Considering how jealous and possessive she could get, I didn't want them to meet right now, as it would just give me a bunch of headaches.
"Where are you going? Are you going to see the director?"
I shook my head. "No, just a fellow professor who had I asked something before leaving for the Snowy Mountains. Don't worry. It shouldn't take too long."
Amelia pouted. "Tsk, why can't I meet her? Are you trying to hide things from me?"
I rolled my eyes all the way to the back of my mind, annoyed. "Just stay here. Can you do that for me?"
Amelia wanted to argue as she opened her mouth, but she closed it right away when she noticed the serious look on my face. This wasn't up to discussion.
"Tsk, alright. I'll stay here, but you better give me a reward because I listened…" She looked away, blushing right away.
"A reward?" I frowned. "What kind of reward were you thinking of?"
She shrugged. "Y-You know… maybe a kiss, or something… more?"
I smirked. She really loved me; she had always wanted some physical touch from me. I also loved touching her body. However, I wasn't at the point where I was obsessed just like her. That was another level of crazy.
"Sure, we can have some 'alone' time later…"
She smiled brightly, extremely happy. "Perfect! Come back as soon as possible… I-I'll prepare something special for you this time."
I wasn't too sure what she meant by that. However, I knew that it would be something that I would like since she was so shy about it. I couldn't wait to see what it was. But I still had to go and see Ava to talk about whether she had made some discoveries about the black heart I had given to her. If she had found what the demons were doing to those monsters, then it would surely give me some ideas about how they are currently demonizing people left and right.
"See you in an hour…" I said as I left my office, leaving Amelia behind to prepare for whatever she had in mind.
Quickly enough, I found my way to Ava's lab, where I could hear a ton of noise even while I was outside of it. I peeked at the insides of it through the window, and what I saw inside was… let's say, just a little crazy.
I could see things exploding in every corner of the room; an object was even flying around the room, clearly out of control. And there was Ava with her beautiful purple hair, panicking as she watched everything around her, losing her mind.
Instead of watching her destroy her lab with her own hands, I decided to get involved as I opened the door and controlled most of the things flying around in the room.
Instantly, Ava looked in my direction as her jaw dropped and her eyes widened in shock. After all, I hadn't told her that I was coming to see her today at all, so she was bound to be extremely shocked by it.
"C-Caedrel? Is it really you? What the hell are you doing here? Weren't you taking a break after everything that happened in the Snowy Mountains? Why are you back so early?"
"Uh… I don't know. I just came back, haha."
Then, she started walking in my direction and gave me a big, tight hug, just like the ones that Amelia would usually give me. She seemed really happy to see me again.
"I missed talking to you… the Royal Academy wasn't the same without."
I just patted her head slightly, not even wrapping my arms around her.
"I want you to tell me about everything that happened in the Snowy Mountains!" She exclaimed excitedly as she slowly let go of me.
