Chapter 12: Fairy Village and Lair

In short, Luke had managed to become politically untouchable, and he had achieved this at a young age. Now, all he had to do was ignore his father; after all, he didn't want revenge, he just wanted to continue living.

After calming himself down, he opened his inventory and took out one of the imperial palace sweets Emma had sent, devouring it in seconds.

Immediately after that, he stretched widely, got up from where he was sitting, and left the tent, looking tired.

When the cold air hit his face, he saw an elf child wandering around and gestured to him with his hand.

When the elf child curiously approached him, Luke bent down and asked, "What is your name, kiddo?"

"My name is Cain, my lord," replied the little elf child.

"All right, Cain, I'm going to give you a task. Do you see that tent over there? I want you to make sure no one enters it, and if you succeed, I'll give you a special rank, the rank of servant, you know who I am, don't you?" Luke said suddenly.

Cain nodded his head up and down as if he understood, and Luke smiled and said, "All right. Do your job well. Throw wood into the stove inside the tent periodically, being careful not to burn yourself, and keep the fire going. I'll be back here shortly." He then left Cain in the tent and began walking towards the area where the villagers who lived closest to the mansion were staying.

Not seeing Kevin outside meant he had to leave the first person he saw by the tent. Even though there was no one in the tent, one of the things Luke hated most was having his territory invaded. This also applied to the tent that had been set up for him.

After visiting the villagers, he checked on them and found that there were no problems.

Meanwhile, Callum had finished getting ready and had come to Luke's side wearing a normal, long-sleeved sweater and trousers underneath, as if he were not affected by the cold at all.

"I'm ready, Your Majesty," Callum said politely.

When Luke heard these words, he began to walk back towards the tent with Callum. Luke reached the tent in a short time and saw Cain immediately, who was still waiting outside the tent.

Cain's nose looked red from the cold.

Luke officially took Cain by the arm and led him into the tent, then said, "From today on, you will train alongside Kevin; he will make you the best there is."

Immediately after that, he took a sweet from his inventory and offered it to the young boy.

Then he asked, "Tell me, Callum, what happened?"

After his question, Callum shook his head and said, "Actually, Your Majesty, I must mention that I came across something I really didn't expect to find. This thing is on your land, and it increases the value of the land by at least a hundred times, maybe even two hundred times."

Luke rolled his eyes and said, "You'd better get to the point, Callum, we have a lot of work to do."

Callum smiled and replied, "To put it simply, everything started when I entered the forest, my lord. It might sound a bit strange, but as I went deeper into the forest, the rustling sound you mentioned reached my ears, and I followed it."

"After that… I encountered something completely different…" Callum said and began to tell his story.

Luke was almost able to visualise what Callum was describing in his mind.

When Callum had ventured into the deepest parts of the forest, he had come across a fairy village. The fairies were a rare race, and to be honest, the gifts they received were entirely based on magic, and they specialised in raising rare elemental mages like Kevin, which was INCREDIBLY rare inside the Empire.

According to Callum, this was a massive fairy village. While a typical fairy village covered an area of about fifteen or twenty trees, this one stretched as far as two hundred trees.

It could very well have been one of the largest fairy villages in the past fifty years.

After establishing good and courteous communication with them, Callum mentioned the surname 'Hiera,' and although Luke was surprised, the fairy who was the leader of the fairy village directly mentioned the name of Luke's grandfather, Liam Hiera.

Luke had discovered another secret his grandfather had hidden, but he had only scratched the surface of many more.

Still, this did not explain why Callum's armour had been reduced to shreds.

"What about your armour? Why weren't you as good as you were when I sent you, but instead looked like you were facing death when you came back?" Luke asked.

"To be honest, that's how it was, Your Majesty," Callum replied and began to explain again without stopping:

"The fairies requested me… To be honest, I invited them to the village without your permission, so they could become villagers. Even though they accepted the moment they heard you were a Hiera, they wanted to stay in their own village for at least a while, and then they made their main request."

"What kind of request?" Luke asked. He was genuinely curious. He wasn't going to get angry at Callum just for wanting to bring someone to the village, especially not in such a cold region. He wasn't that heartless.

"A request to eliminate the monsters disturbing the village, sir. I won't lie to you… I found a place where the Mutant Turtles were using as a lair. It didn't take me long to figure out where the Mythril Turtle came from," Callum replied.

At these words, Luke's eyes widened in disbelief, and without hesitation, he asked, "You can't be serious… A monster race that can't even live together has created a lair?"

Callum simply shook his head and remained silent.

Luke paused for a few seconds. He couldn't believe his ears and kept blinking, staring at Callum's face.

"Fucking hell..." Luke muttered suddenly.

"There really won't be any peace here, will there?" he added abruptly.

It seemed that was indeed the case.
