Chapter 17: Saving Kaijin and The Three Brothers (III) - Consequences Of Messing With Shizu's Kids.
Everything from evil centipedes and basilisks, down to slimes and bats were charging out of the cave in fear of what lay below. Perhaps sensing Shizu's power is what caused the sudden change in behaviour, perhaps it was just time, but whatever was behind this had made the monsters run. And they were moving towards the city.
After Shizu infused her sword with [Instant Motion], she tapped the real body of Myrd and sent him to Kaijin's shop with the knowledge Henrik was there. After seeing the unconscious and twisted body of Myrd, Henrik and the whole city heard the sound of an explosion coming from above the mines as the skies above turned orange from magic. It was the signal that monsters from beneath the mines were coming.
After being informed, Henrik launched himself into the air and place a barrier around Dwargon, just reaching outside the campers of the wall to keep everyone safe. As he arrived on the scene, he shouted a very famous heroes line to try and give hope to the people.
"HAHAHAHA. Fear not citizen, hope as arrived. Because I am here."
Now, he was all that stood between the innocent people camping outside the wall and the monsters. If the monsters got through the barrier, the people there would certainly be slaughtered. Even worse, if Gazel didn't get here in time, they may break through the wall and the Armed Nation Of Dwargon would be no more.
Luckily, the one person who could make sure none of that was even a possibility was about to show everyone the power that ruled his newly formed nation. Henrik raised his hand towards the oncoming monsters and gained a massive smile.
"The amount of skills I'd get would be incredible. But. I have other plans for these monsters. Best put them into [Imaginary Space].
Now.
Devour all, Beelzebuth."
A black hole like energy shot out of Henrik's hand and rushed towards all the monsters. While some of the monsters were fast or had good evasion, with the size [Beelzebuth] was right now, Henrik could absorb all of Dwargon if he wished. And within mere moments after arriving on scene, Henrik had removed all of the monsters before any of them could get near the city.
'Raphael. Start the alterations to the monsters. When we make the Labyrinth, they'll become some area bosses.'
[Will do. Should I tell you when alterations are complete?]
'No, just make sure it's done ASAP. Now, I need to get to Shizu," Henrik thought as he removed the barrier and flew at full speed towards the mines. As he left, he could hear the cheers of the campers and soldiers, singing his praises as he left.
Back in the mines, Shizu had been taking down as many monsters as she could while keeping the bodies of Dido and Garm safe. Thanks to her recent power up, she could easily kill most of her targets but a disturbing thought crossed her mind. At the entrance of the mines, there was at least 20 other tunnel entrances leading down into the mines. At least 20 others that monsters may be running out off. All she could do was hope that Henrik got to the mines in time.
[Mistress. The dark magic beneath us is growing. I recommend an immediate retreat]
'No Ignis. We don't leave until the mines are safe. I've got an idea.'
Moving so fast that even the fastest monsters here could only take a single step before she was done, Shizu grabbed Dido and Garm, threw them to one side, and cut the ground.
A moment later, a massive 20 feet in length hole appeared in the ground, preventing anymore monsters from reaching her or the dwarfs. Then, Shizu leaped into the air and pointed herself downward with her sword ahead of her. She began to spiral and spiral, until she looked something akin to a drill turning at full speed.
"Flame Sword Art: Salamanders Spin."
Around her whole body, magical flames began appear at temperatures that surpassed 4000 degrees. Thanks to her ultimate skill, Shizu is able to move the external heat inside her body to prevent innocents like Garm and Dido from being melted. Then, she descended on the monsters that had fallen into the hole.
She spun and spun and managed to very quickly dispatch all the monster, but she didn't stop. For five whole minutes, Shizu kept spinning and spinning, until eventually the ground beneath her broke and she went free falling in an open cavern. Only then did she stop. After all, her goal wasn't to kill the monsters, in truth she cared little for them at this point, it was burrow her way to the source of the magic.
When she was falling, she stopped herself from spinning by temporarily going to other way and then completely stopping. As she reached the ground, she flipped herself back over and landed gracefully on her feet.
[Pain Nullification activated]
CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP!
Sounds of hands clapping sounded throughout the cavern before Shizu could even orientate herself.
"Well done human. I honestly didn't think you could make it. You're not an ordinary person are you? To kill so many clones and still have the courage to face their master. Impressive. Still, this will be your end."
Shizu took a moment to collect herself as she looked around the cavern.
It was large and sphere like, with water puddles dotted around the open space. At the northern side, pointing towards Dwargon, there was some type of alter. It stood tall, with spikes and thorns coming from the very top. There was dead leaves and animal carcasses dotted about the area, giving off a foul stench.
Then, at the top of a staircase that led to a statue of some unknown deity, there was a young elven woman. No older than 18 in human years. Like all elven women, her features were the pinnacle of what humans would call beauty. Her face was soft and pure white, her lips completely red, her eyes a piercing blue. Then she opened her mouth while staring Shizu directly at the mask.
"Child. You have prevented the destruction of Dwargon. And for this, you will pay. With your life. Your life will be an offering for me, sent to me by this beautiful elf." The voice was ancient and sounded pure evil, like whoever was speaking had no good in them, and never did.
"Who are you? I'm guessing you're not an elf girl. If you really are a God, come here and face me yourself. Instead of hiding behind and elf that looks like she hasn't ever raised a sword. And what did you do to the dwarfs?"
"Hehe," The voice sounded, clearly proud of its actions, "I made them stronger. My curse on this elf allows her to become stronger and make others stronger. I can't be blamed if there's a slight alteration in their appearance."
"Slight alteration? You made them look like ghouls. They don't even move properly."
"Such is the price of power. My chosen will now kill you, and your body will become like theirs, as your soul becomes mine."
"So, they're practically dead?"
"NO. As I said, the dwarfs are stronger. Stronger than even the king of this land. And they will be his end. When that has happened, I will permit them to become weak again. And I will move onto Englassia. And take down everyone in that school. Especially that guild master and those kids he spends so much time with. I will have my revenge on them."
"What for? What have they done to you?"
"WHAT HAVE THEY DONE. They killed me. All I wanted was to free Dwargon from this tyranny. The constant division between common and noble, and they killed me for it. Sure, I tried to do it by assassinating the king, but that guild master showed up on quest and stopped me. That man. For over twenty years, I have been here. Until this little elf found me and the last remnant of me place my curse on her.
For months I have slowly being gaining my power once again. And now, Gazel Dwargo will die. And Dwargon will be better off for it. Then, that Yuuki, and everyone at that school of his dies."
"That's not possible. I know Yuuki, he's just a kid. He isn't old enough to have been around back then. And how did you even know of the academy if you have been here?"
"So, you're a friend of that foolish adventurer. Wait, I've seen you around before when this elf was scouting in that pathetic academy. You're that woman who's always around that group of kids. Tell me, how should I kill them?"
Then, the elven woman, or whatever was controlling her, cast some type of illusion magic and created images of Shizu's students, dead and dismembered. From the illusions, it was clear that this spirit intended to make her students suffer before brutally killing them. But for some reason, it seemed that Chloe's face was unclear. All the others were clear to see their pain, but with Chloe, it was as if Shizu couldn't see her face at all.
"How dare you? I don't know what you think happened, but Yuuki is far too young to have been the one to stop you. But even if you believe he was, to threaten those kids, because someone stopped you from assassinating a king. You self little.."
[Mistress Shizu. Your flames are about to burst out. Please try to calm down]
'NO. Ignis. Don't stop it. Release all my flames. I'm done with this conversation. I'm gonna show this restless soul what happens when you threaten my students.'
[Very well mistress. Would you like to initiate combat?]
'Yes.'
Gold surrounded Shizu, as she activated [Ignis, Lord of Embers] for the first time, she would soon realise just how powerful she'd become, and why Henrik suggest there was a chance she'd beat him.
The golden flames that enveloped her then converged on her back and head, forming a pair of majestic and divine looking wings that sprouted from her back. On her head, a regal crown appeared made from pure flames that made her look even more beautiful then she already was. Her pupils turned gold as a small fire ignited in both.
"What is this? Is this the power of an ultimate skill? HAA. No matter. It won't save you."
Shizu then very calmly took out her mask again and placed on her face, the head between her and the mask sealing it in place. After drawing her sword, the golden flames around her extended to her blade as it became an extension of her.
Then, she stood still. Until a moment later when the elf woman appeared in front of her at tremendous speeds, and with a sadistic grin on her face, launched a punch at Shizu's face. Shizu showed no signs of reacting until the fist was a mere millimetre from her face, and in an instant Shizu disappeared.
When the elf stopped her fist, the air around it move at incredible speeds as her punch sent a shockwave that blasted into a wall and destroyed the earth behind it for miles.
"Is that it? To harm my students, Yuuki included, you'll have to go through me. And with pitiful attacks like that, you'll never even land a hit on me."
When the elf woman looked up, Shizu was hovering above her and her wings were slowly flapping. She had her sword raised in the air, and before the elf could respond, Shizu had slash the sword down and grazed the woman masterfully. However, the woman didn't feel pain, instead, the spirit that was controlling her let out a mental scream of agony.
"You only anticipated you'd have to deal with regular dwarf soldiers, but you made two fatal errors. The first is assuming that King Gazel is a regular dwarf soldier, and the other. Was threatening my kids."
"Bitch. I'll kill you too...." As the elf spoke, Shizu was already behind her with her hand imbued with the [Eternal Flame] afforded to her by her ultimate.
"Enough using this innocent woman as cover. Face me yourself spirit."
Shizu then reached her hand into the woman, completely ignoring her flesh and leaving it unharmed, and grabbing the soul possessing her. From the moment Shizu touched it, the soul could only scream as it was forcefully removed from the elven body. After the spirit was taken out, the elf fell to the ground unconscious.
"This is it? This small dark orb thingy. I expected more from someone who threatened to kill someone like Gazel. I know you're just a spirit now with no body but still. It's no wonder someone this weak failed." Shizu said as she tossed the soul back into the air. With a wave of her hand, she covered the elf girl with [Eternal Flame] so the spirit wouldn't be able to possess her again.
"Now then, would you like to threaten my students now you've not no leverage? See, I think I figured it out. I think that the dwarf brothers are still alive, but some dark magic has gripped them.
You would have me believe that I can't save them, but I think it's the curse, not some complex dark magic. Just a simple mind domination, maybe a bit of physical enhancement. And the physical deformities are just an illusion.
Because if you really made those dwarfs suffer like that, he would've come here and dealt with you personally. So he must have seen past the illusion that I couldn't.
So, since it's just a basic curse, if I kill the origin of it, the curse will be lifted. So if you have no last words, I think it's time I see them three and this woman safe."
"Oh you're so smart. Well guess what. It's true I needed that body before, but only while I regained my strength. Now, I'm more powerful than ever, and you just released me of that body which restrained me. Bet you didn't know that. And now, you die stupid."
As the spirit said this, it used some type of telekinetic abilities to shift the earth itself, sending large chunks of rock hurling towards Shizu.
"I knew that."
Shizu disappeared from sight as charged at the rocks. The first rock, she cut into small cubes, the next she landed on and kicked it to the others, shattering them all.
Shizu flew towards the dark spirit, but as she got close the spirit let out a laugh. A moment later, rocks from all sides started to rush at Shizu. It seemed to be a last ditch effort, using whatever magic power it had left to hope that a short range barrage would be enough to hold her back while it made a quick escape.
Shizu, however, had no intention of letting it leave with it's life. When the rocks got close enough, Shizu used her Flame Sword Art: Salamanders Spin to crush all the rocks and continue on her way to the spirit.
"HAHAHHA. Fool, you fell for it. Why don't you look at the elf girl and just above her. I had those dwarfs fall down the hole you so kindly made. You can save them or kill me. Your choice human."
Shizu, under her mask, only let out a smile as she stopped flying towards the spirit and hovered still in the air for a moment.
"Took you long enough," Shizu muttered.
A loud crash sounded from the air as Henrik flew through the rocks and arrived in the cavern. Within seconds, he'd zoomed to Garm and Dido, caught them and brought their bodies safely to the ground.
"Sorry boys," Henrik said as he knocked them out to ensure they didn't try anything. He then turned to Shizu, "Yeah sorry I'm late. I only had a few thousand monsters to beat. Oh, Gazel is on his way here as we speak, he should only be a few minutes behind me. Finish this before he gets here.
It'll be great for the negotiations. If you need me to intervene say so, but judging from the power this spirit has, I'd say you could play around and still not have to try."
"How dare you? I am the great..." The spirit tried to speak but Shizu appeared and with an [Eternal Flame] infused foot, kicked the spirit across the cavern. She repeated this a few time as Henrik looked on and reminded himself not to anger this woman ever.
"This is for Chloe, and this one is for Gale, and this one is for Kenya, and this one is for Ryota, and this one is for Alice.
And this one, is for Yuuki.
Never EVER threaten my students without having the power to kill me."
By now, Shizu had kicked the spirit around the cavern quite a few times, with her speed, each student got at least ten kicks in. The spirit was losing worse than it ever thought possible and just as it was about to give up hope, Henrik shouted to Shizu.
"Enough."
And Shizu stopped her attack immediately.
"This thing threatened my students. Don't get in my way of protecting them."
"I'm not. But when I said they would want you to see them happy, I meant you. Not a vengeful monster who wears their teachers face. I know if feels good right now, but trust me, when you kill it, you won't feel any better.
You've proven you can keep them safe, now prove to everyone that you can teach those kids to be kind. Not nice, not a push over, but kind. And kindness includes mercy."
"Mercy, she threatened my students. She's my enemy."
"That is true. And if you want to do this, I won't stop you. But friends, enemies, in the world I want to make with you, for your students.
Friends and enemies are irrelevant, as long as there's mercy. Trust me, I don't intend to let this thing get away with what it's done. To you, your students, Dwargon. It will suffer.
But please Shizu, not as your new king, but as your equal, I'm begging you. Don't do this. Those kids have suffered enough, don't make them loose the one person who can make them smile."
Then, the flames around Shizu slowly faded out, and she glided in front of Henrik and fell to his knees, crying.
"I'm sorry. I don't know what's happening to me. This isn't like me. I'm so sorry."
Henrik simply knelt down and put his arms around Shizu.
"It's okay. You weren't just supressing Ifrit, you were supressing anger and built up rage for decades. Now you're free, you were just trying to let all that out. And that's okay, you're allowed to. You deserve too.
And I promise, whenever you need to unleash that rage but go too far, I'll be right here to stop you. Now compose yourself, after we're done here, we're going to get your students and bringing them to my nation. I don't want the first time they see you in a while to be you crying."
At this moment, the spirit saw it's only opportunity to escape and began to fly as fast as its broken soul could towards the hole Henrik made when entering.
Then, as it got close to leaving, it stopped and fell to the ground. All of its senses shut down, all except its hearing. In it's mind, it could hear Henrik's voice.
'You think you're allowed to leave and cause more chaos. Now what type of king, and friend, would I be if I allowed that. I got Shizu to show mercy for her not you, you will suffer. For the rest of time. Witness the power of my unique skill [Perversion].'
As Henrik said this to the spirit, the spirit was filled with it's darkest memories. When Yuuki beat it, when it died, when it lost to Shizu. The memories were all it could think about as [Perversion] brought the darkest thoughts possible for it to the surface and forced it to relive those moments on repeat.
"Beelzebuth," Henrik spoke as he absorbed the spirit and imprisoned it in [Imaginary Space] and forced it to live it worst nightmares over and over again. For the rest of time.

Hi, Omni_God2000 here.
Next chapter is 'Saving Kaijin And The Three Brothers (IV) – Finale.
It will be the penultimate chapter in this volume, with the chapter of Henrik and Gazel negotiating being the last one.
I should warn that the chapter with the negotiations will be a lengthy information one. Some may find it boring. What I'll say is if you find the sitting in a room meetings episodes of season three, the chapter on Thursday won't be your favourite.
Thanks for reading and stay tuned.
