That Time I Got Reincarnated By Veldanava

Chapter 12: Finally arriving at Dwargon

It's been a week since Henrik returned to the village from beating Velzard and evolved Ranga. After doing that, he used his most powerful skill, [Veldanava, God of Creation], to essentially make a fully functioning town from nothing. This very act to his subordinates only deepened their devotion to him, seeing him as a gift sent from some God, which isn't technically wrong.

The town reached far and wide, removing the forested area and replacing it with a fully developed city.

In the outermost part of newly created capitol was the farmland, and thanks to some special magic that Henrik had learnt in the last few days, all crops from apples to bananas and even coco beans would grow. Currently before they went into full cultivation jobs, Henrik was educating the goblins on the basics of farming, showing them new irrigation and crop gathering methods that would increase the effectiveness a lot.

In the future, he'd have new techniques and bring in experienced farmers to work the fields but that was still a ways away.

In the west lay Veldora's cave, where'd he'd go daily to release his aura so magisteel and hipokute herbs would grow and Henrik could use [Beelzebuth] to create full potions and trade the magisteel in the future. With a True Dragon there, even if it took a while at first, by the time the country was ready for high level trade agreements, the cave would be full. Naturally, the added work made Veldora disagree but two extra manga chapters in his weekly allowance made him very agreeable. Henrik wondered if there was actually a line even manga wouldn't make him cross.

Between the farmland and the main town centre, there was different industrial buildings. Some that would be turned into waste facilities, some for mass production and processing of crops that would be advertised as the best option for wartime.

There was even different types of military training grounds and housing for a small nation. The goblins took a while to get used to the houses, and toilets, but once they got used to it, none of them could go back to the filthy way of their old lives. Then, at the innermost part of the city and just outside the centre was the market and bathhouse.

There was a shop for blacksmiths and armorers, some for clothing, some for regular days out with the family, some stores that would be imperative in future discussions. Henrik even had created some sushi stores. Then, there was Henrik's favourite part, even more that what was at the centre.

The marketplace that just made the whole city feel like a fantasy dream. Stalls for people to sell their crops, fresh meat, trinkets. Definitely the main attraction for tourists.

As you saw, I did say that there's stores for people to sell their crops, that's because the farmland is so big that there's so much space that the country can't take it all and since farmers need land, for nice fee, they'll get a great size of land and a free stall in the market.

Butchers and restaurants from all over the nations and one day beyond can purchase meats from mindless beasts that spawn in Veldora's cave, naturally with locals getting a nicer deal since they pay taxes.

Then the centre. The Fallen Ice Castle.

It biggest symbol of the nations power, named after those who died at Velzard's hands while coming to aid their king, it would serve as Henrik's residence. It would also house foreign leaders on state visits which he was really looking forward too, part of that would be the state dinners which the exotic and rare beasts meat would be served and make important figures from all over want to buy the meat from The Great Lazek Kingdom since it would be the only way to safely get and still cheaper than high ranked adventurers.

Henrik's subordinates could only smile, and some struggle to follow, as he explained how everything that would happen would have a chain effect that would boost the kingdom.

A random family enjoys a vacation here, they go back to work and talk about how good things were at the nation they visited, that word spreads and high ranking officials and celebrity adventurers are more likely to visit, they come and discover the luxury of the kingdom and tell their contacts to do business with us.

As for the defences, Henrik had place multiple transparent barriers starting just outside the capitol's farmlands inward with the intervals getting shorter at each one. The barriers were unique as they didn't stop people from getting in. They were synchronised with Henrik's unique skill [Perversion] and their purpose was to expose the truth to people. This way, no silly otherworld from Falmuth would be able to turn everyone against the goblins and lead to an attack.

The barriers were even connected to Henrik and Ranga so if any attack force entered with the intention of invasion, they'll be notified and know the direction of the attack. The barriers were also capable of blocking anti-monster fields that the Western Holy Church had developed. This way if an attack did make it inside, the monsters would be able to fight at full power.

That's about the jist of it, not a perfect or guaranteed plan but with all the opportunities, there's no doubt it would work. Especially when the Great Temmna war comes and we're the safest place. Since Henrik clearly won't be joining the demon lords after the fight with Velzard, he could even advertise it as the only place safe from the 'Lord of Darkness' manipulation. If Guy comes a knocking, Henrik can just show him to Veldanava really choose.

Three days after his return, Ranga officially woke up as Divine Friendship Direwolf and became one of the most powerful beings in existence. Even Veldora was well behaved around Ranga after sensing his power. In the four days since he awakened, him and Henrik hung out and he watched as Henrik taught everyone the basics of farming.

Ranga even slept on Henrik's bed with him every night which only made Henrik regret his deep fear of dogs in his old life. But when the others started getting jealous, Ranga did begin using his own room which was just next to Henrik's.

Now though, it was time for Henrik to finally begin opening diplomatic channels with the outside world. With Ranga and Veldora here, he could be sure that the capitol and his subordinates would be safe without him, and if Ranga and Veldora couldn't beat someone, for example if Milim showed up, then Veldora could easily summon Henrik.

As such, Henrik was going alone this time, which would also allow him to be inconspicuous and traverse Dwargon for a bit before getting a meeting with Gazel. Which thanks to a certain slime, Henrik knew exactly how to do. Now though, Henrik was sat on his throne and had summon his main subordinates.

"Thank you for coming, as you all know, I'll be departing for Dwargon right after this meeting. I'm leaving you all in Ranga and Veldora's capable hands. Rigurd, while I'm away you're technically the highest ranking person so I'll trust you to make sure everything runs smoothly."

"Yes lord Henrik, I won't let you down."

"I know you won't. We should be expecting Gobwa back with the others at some point either today or tomorrow. I can't tell if they were successful but I know they're still alive so I'll call that success in itself. If they succeeded and the band of ogres are with them, be sure to make them feel welcome and let them know I'll grant them their names and help them with their vengeance when I return.

I wish I could postpone my trip to Dwargon for a few days to help welcome them, but we've had enough setbacks on getting to Dwargon. Thankfully it's not as urgent since the women now have clothes that came with the capitol but that was a one time thing, I can't do it again so we'll need trade agreements and allies. Ranga, if the ogres get out of hand while I'm away, you have my full permission to restrain them but only if they're a threat to someone."

"Of course lord Henrik, if those ogres become a problem, I'll handle them."

Henrik smiled at his subordinates until he heard Veldora shouting to him from a corner in the room. Henrik had made him a small sofa with a desk attached to it so Veldora could sit in on meetings and intervene if he had thoughts. Veldora hated the idea but then Henrik told him that the desk part is magical and it makes manga even more exciting, now unless he's releasing his aura or on patrol, he's almost glued to that sofa.

"Wait a minute. I'm staying here? I thought you said you wanted me in meetings with you and foreign leaders. Why am I staying here then?"

"Right, because you care so much about being there for diplomatic reasons and not because you're supposed to get manga in a few days and you're worried with me being gone you won't get it," Henrik said with a smile. Veldora then relied pouting, "Well yeah, I mean it's totally a mix of both."

"Sure it is. Veldora, you'll be happy to know I've already made multiple chapters and Ranga has them tucked away nice and safe. That way, if you're good, he'll give them to you. Oh, and I already know you're planning some devious plan to get the manga early. If you try, no manga for a month. And that includes the ones you've already got."

Veldora, who was using [Thought Acceleration] to come up with as many plans as he could to get the manga from Ranga immediately stopped and pouted again, wiping the newly formed smirk off his face.

"Fine."

"Lord Henrik," Gobta spoke up and continued as everyone looked at him, "Will I be coming with you on this mission?"

"No. Right now the capitol if filled with buildings that have no one working them, I need as many hands as possible maintaining things here," Henrik told him making up an excuse to himself, in truth, he just wanted to be alone at a certain elf ran bar.

"Alright, everyone is dismissed. I should be back in a few days at most, if you absolutely need me tell Veldora." Henrik could rest assured knowing they'd do just that if there was an emergency, while at first his subordinates were too scared to speak to Veldora, over the last week, they've come to know and like the new him. And those who still feared him felt at ease knowing Ranga would protect them if he meant them harm.

As the group started to leave, Henrik turned to Veldora with a serious look. "Veldora, I'll be honest, I never told you the reason. It's true there's no real military of guard to defend while I'm away, and that's the reason the others probably think I'm keeping you here. Honestly, it's because I can't trust that your sister or someone else will come here looking to harm them. And as powerful as I am, I don't have the strength to bury even one more of them.

So even if just this once, while I'm away, I'm leaving them in your care. I'll probably regret it or come back to find buildings destroyed but if there's anyone who comes looking to harm my subordinates, kill them. As painfully and brutally as draconically possible."

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Big powerful human gets worked up over goblins who are clearly inferior to me. But don't worry, I'm a dragon of my word, at least when manga is at stake, and I promise, if anyone comes to harm the small goblins and wolves, they'll suffer the wrath of the mighty Storm Dragon Veldora. HAHAHAHAHA"

Henrik let out a small chuckle at this before he walked over to a large pair of glass doors and opened them, it led to a the balcony that stretched all around this side of the castle. With a final nod to Veldora, Henrik launched himself into the air and used [Flight Magic] he got when he analysed Veldora to fly directly for the Armed Nation Of Dwargon at full speed.

Thanks to his recent power up, he was able to push all his magic beyond regular limits and so he arrived at the gates of Dwargon's main city in a matter of hours. A trip that before on Ranga's back could've taken him a whole week if not more.

As got closer, he could see the city in the horizon. The first thing that came into view was the large wall that surrounded the nation and deterred any attacks. The wall was possibly the biggest thing Henrik had seen after his castle, even bigger than Veldora in his dragon form. Then, he could see the lights of the market place begin to shine as the sun began to set, hundreds of tiny lights appeared and made the city look like a beautiful beacon from the sky. And then, the castle of Gazel Dwargo came into view, and it looked mightier than Henrik's castle, although Henrik wanted his home to look more luxurious rather than mighty.

Altogether, the Armed Nation of Dwargon looked exactly as Henrik pictured a fantastical city to look like, and almost exactly as it looked in the anime.

As he arrived, all the people still waiting in line looked up as they heard him approach. Because of the time, there wasn't many people left to enter the city and some had even began camping in the nearby area, likely waiting to enter tomorrow.

"I hope I can get in. I don't want to have to stay out here in the cold all night." As Henrik landed a few people began muttering amongst themselves, likely curious about the flying human they just saw.

When they saw him, two guards who was at the gate walked over to him, gripping their weapons tight.

"Hey guys, nice to meet you. Could I possibly get into the city please. I didn't bring any camping equipment so I'd really appreciate it," Henrik said with a smile.

"Not happening I'm afraid sir. Since the Storm Dragon returned and declared the Great Jura Forest had become a nation, his majesty has ordered no one can enter after sunset. Unless you can prove you are a resident here, we can't let you in," A middle aged dwarf with a greying beard informed Henrik.

"If you are a resident, we'll need to see proof that you live here. Maybe an address and name. Or if you work for a government building, proof of that will suffice," The other dwarf, a shorter man with no beard said.

'Damn it, all these blocks. It's as if people don't have any respect. Looks like I'll just have to tell them my real name,' Henrik thought before a voice that sounded both masculine and feminine spoke up from behind him.

"There you are, come on. We'll just get in tomorrow, I set up our camp over here."

When Henrik turned around to see who was speaking, he was shocked to see a young woman with white clothes on. While nothing on the surface stood out about that, the woman was wearing a mask with strange symbols on. Thanks to his prior knowledge of this world, he instantly recognised her as Shizu Izawa. The woman who Rimuru devoured and took her form.

"Sorry about my companion here, he's just a little confused after a fight we recently had. Fought some terrible large ants and he knocked his head on a rock, he just needs some rest if you would excuse us."

Shizu over her life had become quite infamous as an adventurer and although the two guards didn't know her actual names, thanks to her signature mask, they quickly deduced she was the legendary 'Conquerer Of Flames.'

Since he was stunned, it took Henrik a moment to fully grasp the situation, when he looked back at the guards, he could see them relax. Almost as though they suspected Henrik of being dangerous until Shizu spoke up. A random guy flying this late was suspicious but since they now believed he was a party member of 'The Conquerer of Flames,' it made sense he'd be strong.

'I really need to get better at reading people,' Henrik thought to himself. "Right yes, sorry. Forgive me guards, I'm still not operating at full power," Henrik said with a nervous smile and rubbing his hair.

The guards after getting Shizu's assurance seemed to relax a lot so they lowered their spears and planted the tips into the ground. "Ok then, if you're with the Conquerer of flames, that's good enough by us. But please miss adventurer, if this man is in recovery, keep a closer eye on him. We're all a little jumpy right now with declaration from the Storm Dragon and the message from the Demon Lords."

Henrik immediately was taken by surprise when he heard the guards mention the Demon Lords. "Wait, what message from the Demon Lords?" Henrik asked the guards with urgency in his voice.

The two guards then looked at him strangely and he could tell they were growing suspicious again. 'Surly a party member with The Conquerer Of Flames knows about the message from the Demon Lords."

Shizu then began to laugh from behind them as she playfully patted Henrik on the shoulder. "Don't be silly," She said in an joking tone, "Now isn't the time to be a prankster, the Demon Lords aren't something you should so lightly jest about. Come on, let's get you to the tent."

Without giving the guards a moment to react, Shizu grabbed Henrik and dragged him towards her tent while putting on a slight laugh to make the guards think Henrik just told an inappropriate joke. When they got there, Shizu let Henrik go and slapped him over the head.

"What do you think you were doing? Joking so openly about Demon Lords. Just how long have you been in this world?" She said before sitting down on her legs as a Japanese person would. Henrik then took a seat opposite her with a smile on his face.

"So, you know I came from another world? So we know that much about each other Shizu Izawa. But how'd you figure it out so quickly?"

Shizu then got incredibly suspicious about Henrik as she never told him her real name. Slowly she reached for her sword but didn't yet draw it. "Only an otherworlder would speak so casually about Demon Lords. More important question is how do you know my name?"

"Let's just say the world where I come from, well, there's certain knowledge about this world. That's all I can say. It's also why I know the reason behind that mask of yours. To suppress the monster lying below. Well, monster is inaccurate, I wouldn't want to insult my subordinate by comparing them to Ifrit. Yes, I know its name. I also know that supressing it for so long has zapped you of all your strength.

Your time is coming Shizu, but if you wish, I can save you."

Shizu was filled with a mixture of doubt, anger but above all else, a slight glimmer of hope that she thought died years ago. 'I resigned myself to this fate years ago, even before the hero left I didn't ever think I'd last long. I fought and fought but I always believed it would end with me just burning away and Ifirit taking a bunch of lives with me.

That's why in my final moments, I decided to come here. The Armed Nation Of Dwargon, because here, when I die they'll have plenty of people who can stop Ifrit and minimise the damage. Is that really what I've become, I told those kids to have hope despite believing their time was limited. If what this strange man says is true, can he save them?' Shizu though to herself.

"Yes, I can save your students too. And I will," Henrik said which surprised Shizu as she thought he could read minds before he continued, "No, I can't read your mind per say. Sure there are methods I could use if I wanted to but I didn't. I just know the type of person you are better than a stranger should.

I knew you'd immediately ask me to save your students if I can. I was always going to save them Shizu, from the moment I woke up in this world, saving your students was on my list of priorities. So whether you accept my offer or not, just know your kids will be safe, you have my word I'll make sure they get to live in peace without the fears you had when you came to this world. They'll know the peace you didn't.

But, that being said, I and more importantly those kids would love to have you see that world with us. If you want too of course. And I'll tell you something important that'll change your mind, if you accept, you'll see that hero again. You'll even become what's known as a True Chosen Hero.

What do you say, Shizu Izawa, will you join me in my quest to make this world a peaceful and happy place for children like your students to live in?"

Without knowing why, a tear began to fall from Shizu. Deep down, she knew it was because this man spoke with such conviction that she believed he'd make good on that promise. And for the first time in decades, she felt hope in her heart stronger than she ever felt before.

"But, why? Who are you? Why would you do all that?" Shizu asked, now struggling to hold back the tears.

"Simple answers. I'm doing it because my old life, and especially my childhood was awful. No kid should ever have to go through what I did and this world is even worse, one minute you're playing tag and the next on a whim, a demon lord has destroyed you country and you and your family are dead. I'm doing this so that will never happen again. I will become the one to counter Guy Crimson and his council.

As for my name, you've probably heard it quite a lot recently. The names Henrik, Henrik Lazek. King of The Great Lazek Kingdom and sworn brother of Storm Dragon Veldora." This, while it didn't make Shizu react much as she was still taking the information in, made all the surrounding campers shocked until Shizu shouted out, "WHATTT!"
