Chapter 30: .
Life within the Iron curtain was what could only have become what previously was known as normal, the harmony between mutants and humans brought peace to the land.
Humans returned to a life of indulgence, the outposts were fortified towns just in case but most of the population had been turned into farmers or tradesworkers, the profession as hunters had almost all but been abolished since the hunting and defense of the realm was taken on by the RA forces.
Simple militia's were founded to allow local defense and give the outpost residents the belief they were safe even from their new overlords, if they were barred from military service unrest would grow as they felt they were being oppressed without the chance to fight back should the order come down to eliminate them.
Outside the wall Jake continued to watch on as the situation within his view was made worse and worse.
Since drawing a Spy plane, Jake was capable of conducting scouting mission anywhere in the world but only seeing what could be seen through the eyes of the pilot, but even without the advantage of seeing things on the command map, Jake could get a rough idea of the state of the world and what he learned was grim, after days of flying around the world, Jake had come to the conclusion that the 3rd war had all but begun as dozens of human cities were besieged just like Trent, while what looked like even more cities had recently been destroyed.
A surprise attack that dealt more than a bloody nose to humanity giving the beasts the best chance of winning the war since the first blow was pretty much a knockout one.
Seeing the state the world was in, Jakes hands were not idle.
Without choosing to distract humanity's leaders, he chose to remain insular only dealing with Inverness, as a weapons merchant selling weapons and armor that could help them better secure their own city and armies, but aside from this single city they had no other contact with the outside world.
Even after expanding their operations through the Scandinavian provinces and completing the takeover of Ireland, beginning the entrance into the territories of Greenland and Iceland.
Jake was not idle with his take over's either, similar to the Japanese in WW2 of his original world, he began the creation of a fortress wall, securing the heartland in England by creating a string of military bases that would secure the waterways which were more uncontrolled than the land routes while the surrounding walls were manned with all manner of aerial defense weapons to prevent any flying mutants from intruding on our airspace.
Using the spy plane, and the increased number of bases the command map began to fill itself in giving a better overview of the Earth.
However even with the state Trent was in Jake did not send reinforcements to save the city.
There was a part of him that wanted to however each time he was about to give the command he was reminded about how the people of this world had only wanted to take what was his for their own, wanted simply to use him for their own gains.
The extent of this desire was only barely known to Jake as his spies were still working their way into higher society within the cities walls.
But his rage grew when he learned of the first person he dealt a favor to in this world, the young woman who he save from becoming beast chow minutes after waking up in this other world, she'd been sighted as a person of great interest within the city of Trent by the still visiting Spy squad.
Regular reports informed Jake of the true state of the city, while one of the spy's had switched operations trying to get closer to her in an attempt to learn more as to why she was so important to the syndicate families who ruled over Trent.
The biggest issue was the visiting awakened who'd come to answer the emergency call of Trent to stand against the beast army.
However after the first few days these awakeneds attitudes change completely from being heroes of the city whod come to save it to, oppressors who took their frustrations out on the people they were here to protect.
The reason for this was still unknown, Trent with it's visiting rankers had become powerful, powerful enough to certainly defeat the assailing beast army and why they had not gone on the offensive to drive off the beast armies.
Perhaps they had been informed of our own position and were waiting to see how we'd react to their plight.
There was every chance that our recent dealing with Inverness would make it's way to Trent.
In doing so Trent would realize we weren't exactly hostile against them, however we also weren't friendly with them either.
If they knew this Trent would know unless we went well out of our way we weren't coming to their rescue not that they needed it anyway.
The greatest addition to Jakes forces came during the recent expansion.
With more territory falling under his sway, along with numerous other beast making agreements to come to true peace with the humans of the lands while offering up their lower ranks to become subject to the Premiers farming operations, and experimentation.
He still wasn't sure how it was tracked but believing it to be something like an experience bar similar to how his units gained veterancy, Jake increased his command level to 5.
This increase was a bit of a godsend, not because they were running into issues with their own operations but because of the news obtained from their scouting missions, if the beasts really had relit the flames of war, Jake and his army needed to be ready.
His own forces had only reached a point of being 6th Tier Elites they simply could not compete properly against the true might of the mutant beasts.
8th tiers would tear through his forces with hardly a scratch on them.
But with the increase to his Rank, Jake gained more units at his disposal, a new perk unlocked for his own use, and greater still finally he'd been granted access to Superpowers.
Sadly not from the second game but he did get access to Missile Silos which could allow him to unleash first Generation Atomic bombs, and the Chronosphere not the more advanced model used in the 2nd game but still the device that set about the entire series to begin with.
In the game it was capable of sending someone back in time for a small window of time, or used to teleport a selection of forces anywhere on the map.
And also getting access to probably the most important piece the first generation GPS Satellites, which could give the ability to see a far wider view than anything the Radar domes could ever provide.
And then the single greatest piece of defensive power they could get, the first generation Iron Curtain, capable of making any armour units industructable for 45 seconds, however since the system could grow there was the possibility these superpowers could likewise be enhanced just like his units could grow.
While he hadn't unlocked the RA2 Superweapons he'd gained the next tier of it's units and structures.
Many infantry and armoured units being replaced with the newer models.
Tesla troopers switch from their RA1 form into their full RA2 trooper state wearing a complete rubber suit that made them look sort of like astronauts while increasing the charge they could deliver ten-fold.
Still no demo trucks, or m.a.d trucks even after getting access to nukes.
The flak track, terror drone IVF, Tank Destroyers and V3 rocket launchers were the newest arrivals for the armoured sector.
While the navy got the biggest overhaul, allowing for the upgrade to typhoon attack subs, and allied destroyers, along with new model amphibious transports.
Building wise not much changed the service depots got a rework to a newer form that allowed for faster repairs, while defensively the Tesla coils upgraded to Gen2 models.
This increase to his rank was great, but probably the thing that excited Jake more than anything else about the rank up was the power he'd unlocked, 'Fortuna's Favor'.
This power allowed him to use the skill once per week where upon for one minute his luck would be the best it ever could be.
Simply put it was a support skill, if he played gambling games he'd score a jackpot and that's when the light in his brain set off, his daily available Gacha draw for new units, if he saved them up rather than drawing them the minute they were available, then to combine the draws to coincide with when he activated Fortuna's Favor his draws could become exactly what he needed.
The urge to pull his gacha skill had basically become a daily ritual at this point so stopping himself and saving the draws up was practically torture but if combining his skills led to him being able to draw units from the 3rd game early, or even access to higher tier superweapons before he'd built their buildings the fear coming from the beast domains would be lessened considerably.
The Scarlet dominion itself didn't change much with this increase in level, the army and navy were retrofitted to include the new units, and the defensive walls further enhanced but aside from that Jake's armies continued their advance into the unknown to claim up territory owned by the beasts, while actively avoiding or staying clear of human territories except when it was found those territories had already been destroyed by beast armies.
