Symphony of the Eternal

Chapter 3: Chapter 2

Finally, the day arrived when her friends were due to visit. Misha paced nervously in her room, wondering how they would react. Will they recognize her? Would they think she was crazy?

A knock on the door interrupted her thoughts. Lydia entered, followed by three young girls who looks to be the same age as her.

"Hello, everyone," Misha with her insincere greetings.

The girls exchanged wary glances, unsure of each other. Lydia, sensing the tension, quietly left the room to give them space.

Hydra, was the first to speak. "Miss Pyches," she said softly, testing the waters.

All three girls' eyes widened in shock. Their reactions told Hydra everything she needed to know.

"Oh God! It's you guys!" she exclaimed, relief flooding her voice.

Rien, felt tears well up in her eyes. "It's really us," she whispered, barely able to contain her emotions.

Khleei, stepped forward, her eyes filled with tears. "I thought I was alone," she said, her voice breaking. "I was so scared."

Misha, tried to put on a brave face but failed miserably. "We all were," she admitted, her voice shaky.

After a brief pause, Rish hesitated before speaking. "Wait… so, who's who now?"

Hydra raised her hand confidently, her blue hair catching the light as her violet eyes gleamed with determination. "Let's sort this out. I'm Heziria Isabella Glanister, just call me Zia. But before all this, you knew me as Hydra Velasquez. Still me, just... in this fancy body."

Khleei stepped forward with a dramatic flourish, her yellow hair flowing behind her and her golden eyes twinkling mischievously. "Sianna—Kasianna Eishandria Eldoria the one and only princess of this kingdom. Previously, the one and only Khleei Megardon." She smirked, adding, "Though, honestly, this new face and title do scream the form of a goddamn goddess, don't they?"

"Oh you mean this crumbling kingdom?" Rish gave a sly smile, brushing a strand of her gray hair away from her black eyes. "Rien Gonzalo, now Rishannon Vanezka Elvaine. Call me Rish."

Sianna just rolled her eyes, not wanting to argue with Rien.

Misha ran a hand through her long white hair and shrugged, her pale skin and red eyes giving her an ethereal, almost ghostly look. "They call me Mauie—Maurine Aleksandra Eldridge. But, as you guys know, I was Misha Saiyen before."

The four of them stood there, taking in the reality of their situation. They had become five-year-old children in a strange world, but at least they had each other. They sat down on the fluffy floormat, forming a small circle and assessing each other.

"How did we even get here?" Sianna began, her brow furrowing. "The last thing I remember was… darkness."

Rish nodded in agreement. "It was like everything just stopped, and then… this." She gestured to her small frame.

Zia bit her lip thoughtfully. "Could it have been that truck? You know, before everything went blank?"

Mauie frowned, the gears in her mind turning.

Suddenly, Zia burst into laughter, unable to contain herself as she looked at her friends. "You guys look cute," she said through her giggles.

Kasianna rolled her eyes. "What's with that poor compliment? I'm a goddess. A GODDESS."

"Tch," Mauie muttered, crossing her arms but she was unable to hide the small smile from her lips.

Rish smirked. "You look cute too, like a mini punching bag."

The four of them shared a moment of laughter, a rare reprieve from the weight of their new reality. Despite the strangeness of their situation, being together made it bearable. As their laughter subsided, they turned serious.

"We need to keep our guard up," Mauie said, her voice steady. "We can't afford to be careless."

Sianna nodded, her golden eyes sharp. "Agreed. We need to find people we can trust."

"Training should be our priority," Rish added, her gray hair falling into her eyes. "We can't rely on anyone else to protect us, I mean just look at us, were so small and… fragile."

Zia just nodded.

Their initial plan in place, they spent the next few hours talking about their individual experiences since arriving in Eldoria.

"I woke up in this fancy room," Mauie began, recounting her awakening. "At first, I thought it was a prank or a dream. The maid, Lydia, kept saying I'd been in a coma. Everything felt so strange—my body, my hands, everything. I couldn't even walk properly for the first few days, turns out I had a weak constitution since birth. I even have to receive you here in my room since I'm still recovering from am illness."

Zia nodded."Same here, though my situation was a bit more chaotic. When I woke up, I couldn't move properly. My chest felt tight, my head spun, and I couldn't even call out for help. Turns out I had been poisoned. I was rushed to the doctor not long after waking up, and somehow, I managed to survive. A maid was arrested but im pretty sure one of my step sisters was the culprit."

"Damn…" they commented.

Sianna sighed, leaning back against the wall. "For me, I was so confused. I mean, being a pretty in my previous life didn't prepare me for this. And then when they started calling me Lady Heziria, I knew something was seriously right- I mean, wrong but they're right..? Urgh! Being born beautiful sure is hard. "

Everyone just ignored Sianna's nonsense spewing.

"But seriously mine was different. I woke in in silence, just complete silence, It wasn't until later that I realized that there were faint scars on my wrists, a maid saw me, then they all started panicking when they saw blood rushing through my hands before they called a doctor urghh… thinking about it, it was annoying. Since then they kept looking at me like I might try it again. They didn't say it outright, but I could see it in their eyes. It was awful. And that fucker of a father didn't even came to see me. Had they not tell me I had a parent, I wouldn't know I even have one."

"A suicidal huh…" Zia

Rish smirked. "You should have seen my face when they told me I was some duke's daughter. I thought it was a joke. But the longer I stayed, the more real it felt. It's like we've been thrown into someone else's story." she said, minimizing what to say.

They continued to share their experiences. The more they talked, the more they felt a sense of camaraderie and purpose.

"We need a plan," Mauie said, her voice filled with determination. "First, we should learn everything we can about this world—its history, everything."

Sianna agreed. "And we need to find out more about our families here. If we're supposed to be these noble children, there might be resources we can use."

Mauie spoke, "Let's start with the manor's library. There must be books about Eldoria's history."

Rish nodded. "Agreed. We should call your maid and have her take us there."

Mauie stood up and walked to the door, opening it to call for Lydia. A few moments later, the maid appeared, looking concerned.

"Yes, young lady? How can I assist you?" Lydia asked, her voice gentle.

"We want to go to the library," Mauie said firmly.

Lydia hesitated for a moment but then nodded. "Of course, young lady. Follow me."

She led them through the grand hallways of the manor, the opulence of the place still astonishing them despite their newfound resolve. The walls were adorned with portraits of their supposed ancestors, and the air was filled with a sense of history and tradition.

They reached the library, a vast room filled with shelves of books stretching from floor to ceiling. The scent of aged paper and leather filled the air, and the room was illuminated by large windows that let in the morning light.

"This is the manor's library," Lydia said. "You can find many books on various subjects here. If you need any help, please don't hesitate to ask."

"Thank you, Lydia," Mauie replied. "We'll manage from here."

Lydia bowed slightly and left them to their task. The girls wasted no time in exploring the library, pulling out books and scrolls that looked promising.

They sat down at a large oak table, their expressions serious. Zia broke the silence first. "We need to figure out how to get back to our world."

Sianna nodded. "I agree. But do we even know if that's possible? We were hit by a truck. What if our bodies are already dead?"

Rish face darkened, and she hesitated before speaking. "I... I saw it happen. Misha, Misha's head was... smashed by the truck. There was so much blood. I don't know if there's anything to go back to."

The room fell silent as the gravity of Rish words sank in. Mauie looked down at her small hands, the reality of their situation hitting her hard. "If our bodies are dead, then we're stuck here," she whispered.

Sianna, ever the pragmatist, sighed. "Even if our bodies are dead, we need to understand the nature of this world and how we got here. Maybe there's a way to find peace with our situation, or perhaps there's a way to reverse it. Either way, we need more information."

Zia nodded. "Let's not lose hope just yet. We need to focus on understanding this world first. There might be a way back, or at least a way to find out what happened to our original bodies."

They agreed to split up and search the library for any information that might help.

Rish, the first to open a book, furrowed her brow. "What the hell…" she muttered.

"Why? What happened?" Zia asked, glancing up from her own stack of books.

"Look, guys," Rish said, holding up the open tome, "I can't make perfect sense of this, but… how the hell can I read this? It's not even written in English!"

The others leaned closer, squinting at the pages. The text was filled with swirling, intricate characters that didn't resemble any language they'd ever seen.

"Well, I mean, we've been speaking on a foreign language since we got here, shouldn't it be normal for us to also read this world's language?" Sianna said, eyes wide.

"Right. I guess we were given some special skills to cope in this world," Mauie suggested, flipping through her own book. "How else would we survive here if we couldn't even read basic texts?"

Zia gave a short laugh, shaking her head. "Well, lucky us, I guess. Let's see what these 'special skills' can dig up." She focused back on the book, her expression equal parts skeptical and amazed.

Rish eyes widened as she read aloud from a dusty old tome. "Listen to this: 'Divine magic is bestowed upon priests and priestesses by the gods themselves. It has the power to heal the gravely injured, purify the land, and even resurrect the dead.' Can you believe it? In our world, this would be considered a myth or fantasy!"

Mauie nodded, her own book open to a page depicting various magical creatures. "And here it says that there are actual knights who can control elements like fire and ice. They can summon storms, create earthquakes, and manipulate the very fabric of nature.."

"Now that I think about it, that man, my supposed father kept telling me about the great power hiding inside me. Is it magic?" Rish

"Wow! No way!" Zia exclaimed.

Sianna, who had been reading about sorcery, looked up with wide eyes. "There are spells for everything. From simple charms that can mend broken objects to complex rituals that can alter reality itself. It's incredible! This kind of power… it's both fascinating and terrifying."

Zia, flipping through a book on demons and monsters, couldn't contain her excitement. "Look at this! There are creatures here that we've only ever seen in movies or read about in novels. Dragons, beasts, and even shape-shifters. And they're real. They actually exist in this world!"

The room buzzed with their discoveries, each girl finding something that left them in awe. Rish closed her book and leaned back in her chair, her mind racing. "In our world, magic is just a myth. We must have been sent straight out of a fantasy novel, hahah, kidding."

The room was buzzing with excitement as they discovered more about this world. But Sianna's mind was elsewhere. She was quiet, her eyes focused on the pages in front of her, but her thoughts were racing.

Suddenly, she spoke, her voice sharp. "Wait—Rish, what did you just say?"

Rish paused, a bit confused. "Magic is just a myth?"

"No, you said we must have been sent straight out of a fantasy novel," Sianna repeated, her tone not quite believing what she was hearing.

Rish blinked, then shrugged. "Yeah, I mean, look at this place—magic, creatures, gods. It's like something out of a fantasy book, right?"

Sianna's eyes widened as the words sank in. Her heart skipped a beat. She froze, staring at Rish, and then slowly, the pieces began to fall into place. Her breath caught in her throat as the memory resurfaced.

The stories Professor Pyches had read aloud to them, the way she described the world, the characters... It was all so familiar. Sianna's gaze shifted to the others, and a sudden, chilling realization hit her.

"No... wait. This is exactly like the fantasy novel Professor Pyches was always reading to us!" Her voice was low, almost to herself as she processed it.

All their eyes widened, unable to speak.

Sianna stood up abruptly, her mind now racing. "The gods, the magic, the knights with elemental powers. All of it. Professor Pyches used to tell us about a world like this... We used to listen to her stories in class. And the characters we're... part of it."

A shocked silence filled the room as the others looked at her, their faces paling.

"You're saying... we're in the novel she was reading to us?" Rish whispered, her voice incredulous.

Sianna nodded slowly, her tone hardening. "I think... I think we're in the story. We've been pulled into it. And now, the question is... why? Who did this to us?"

"No fucking way…" Zia whispered, her voice barely audible, disbelief etched across all their faces.

The girls exchanged uneasy glances, the weight of Sianna's words sinking in. They weren't just in another world—they were living out someone else's story. And they had no idea what the next chapter held for them.
