Chapter 770: What is it?!
The battlefield trembled under the relentless bombardment of spells and explosions. The air was thick with smoke, fire, and the deafening roars of gods and demons clashing in combat. It was as if the very ground beneath them rejected the carnage, shaking from the sheer impact of the battle between gods, humans, and demons.
The War God's army, draped in golden robes and wielding radiant golden swords, moved with deadly precision. Each coordinated attack cleared entire sections of the battlefield, carving through the demon ranks with overwhelming might. These warriors were no mere mortals; they were forged in celestial fire, trained by the mightiest of gods. Each strike carried divine energy, cutting through demons like a scythe through grass.
But the demons were relentless. Their generals, towering monstrosities covered in layers of enchanted armor, fought back with savage brutality. They wielded weapons crafted in the dark forges of the abyss, infused with curses that could shatter the very souls of their opponents.
The Forbidden Goddess stood at the center of the chaos, her presence alone warping the battlefield around her. A spectral aura of blue flames danced around her as she released a torrent of forbidden magic. Her eyes burned with insanity, her every movement laced with uncontrollable rage. Ghosts of the netherworld circled her like a dark halo, fueling her ever-growing power.
The Storm God, wielding his divine axe, let out a battle cry and hurled a lightning-infused tornado directly at her. It was an attack capable of leveling entire cities. Yet, as the attack reached her, she absorbed it, her body glowing with raw power. With a wicked laugh, she redirected the attack back at the Storm God, sending him crashing into the battlefield, carving a massive crater upon impact.
A collective gasp echoed from the gods. The demons, witnessing their goddess' unyielding power, roared in defiance, rallying together. Their morale surged, and for a brief moment, it seemed as though the tide was turning in their favor.
The War God clenched his fists. "Damn it! She's feeding on the attacks! We need a different approach!"
The sky above cracked open, divine and demonic energies clashing. Every god was pouring their strength into the battle, yet the Forbidden Goddess stood unyielding, her power still growing. The War God and Storm God exchanged frustrated glances.
"She's becoming unstoppable," muttered the Storm God. "Even the combined strength of the gods is failing."
Amidst the carnage, Kent hovered above the battlefield, his sharp eyes fixated on the Forbidden Goddess. Unlike the other gods, he did not join in the fray. Instead, he watched, analyzing every movement she made. He had to find a weakness—something the others had overlooked.
The battlefield stretched endlessly below him, a sea of bodies, fire, and blood. The air was thick with the screams of the dying, the roars of gods and demons, and the crackling of unleashed divine magic.
Kent narrowed his eyes. The Forbidden Goddess fought like a being beyond mortality, her strength ever-increasing. Every spell cast against her only fueled her rage. But why?
She was different. It wasn't just strength or raw power—there was something else. A presence that defied all logic. Even the gods, with their divine might, could not break her. He had seen spells that could shatter mountains, weapons that could cleave stars in half, yet none of them so much as left a mark on her.
"Why?" Kent whispered to himself.
The Goddess of Lust, who had been tirelessly using soul-piercing spells, furrowed her brows in frustration. "Why isn't it working?! Every attack should be hitting her soul!"
Kent's eyes widened. That was it. The spells were hitting her soul—but something was preventing them from doing any damage.
He focused harder, pushing his perception beyond the battlefield. Then he saw them—the ghosts. The invisible protectors of the nether region, swirling around her like an impenetrable shield. They were absorbing every soul attack, nullifying its impact before it could reach her.
His fingers curled into fists. "That's why nothing works... Those ghosts are acting like divine protectors. It's not her that's invincible—it's the spirits shielding her."
Kent closed his eyes, pushing his mind deeper into thought. He had read countless ancient texts, trained in all known battle strategies, and even studied forgotten spells, yet nothing in his vast knowledge mentioned a way to bypass spirits that protected the soul.
"Damn it… There must be a way."
The ground below shook again as another explosion rocked the battlefield. The Forbidden Goddess moved like a blur, appearing next to the fire god, striking with such force that his divine body shattered instantly, his soul ripped apart as he screamed in agony.
The other gods hesitated for the first time. Their morale was breaking. If they couldn't harm her, what was the point?
Kent could hear their cries, their wavering resolve, but he pushed it all out of his mind. He needed to find a way. The ghosts… what were they exactly? Were they bound to her will? Or was she bound to them?
For a moment, a vision passed through his mind. But he felt confused about his own thoughts.
His eyes snapped open, filled with confusion. He had figured it out. But he would need something more than strength to perform it.
He took a deep breath. "How could it even work? I need something special. Something that cannot be stopped. Something not even a god possesses. Something to shatter her soul?"
His eyes narrowed as he gazed upon the chaos below. The gods and demons clashed endlessly, bodies falling in droves. If this continued, the battlefield itself would be reduced to nothing. He didn't have time.
"What is it...?" he whispered, his voice almost lost in the wind. "What is the one thing that ghosts can't even stop? The one thing that has never been wielded before?"
A storm of thoughts swirled in his mind, yet no answer came to him. The vision flashed again and again. Irony is, Kent appeared in his own vision.
As the massacre continued, as the Forbidden Goddess roared in triumph, Kent stood in dilemma.
"A weapon, living, thinking and unstoppable weapon. A weapon which can pass through nether ghosts and kill the forbidden goddess. What is it?!"
