Chapter 117: Destroyer III
"Was that...?" Dr. Selvig asked, his voice trailing off as he observed the chaos.
"Yeah, he broke the space with his punch just now," Jane said, completing Selvig's sentence. Darcy, meanwhile, was too stunned to say anything. She just stared at Dave, her mouth slightly agape.
Damn, and I thought Thor was impressive, she thought, glancing at Thor, who was now looking at Dave with a mix of awe and curiosity, his attention completely captivated by this mysterious ally.
"No wonder Fury said we can't afford to have him as an enemy," Hawkeye whispered to Black Widow, who nodded in agreement, her gaze fixed on Dave with a rare trace of unease.
Earlier, as Dave released the attack, it was Black Widow who shielded everyone on his order. They were protected by a shimmering blue and azure energy wall that Black Widow had activated. Now, as the dust settled, they looked at Dave as if they were staring at a monster.
Around them, there was nothing but barren land. Even the debris of the town had vanished, seemingly blown away by the sheer force of Dave's punch. Its fate was unknown, as if the wreckage had been erased from existence.
"What... was that?" someone murmured.
Their attention was drawn to a sudden cry as they saw Diana approaching. She was still in her night pajamas, her expression a mix of confusion and irritation.
"I was just sleeping when suddenly the house was blown away!" she exclaimed, glaring directly at Dave, fully aware he was the culprit.
Dave shrugged in response, completely unapologetic, while Jane and the others looked at Diana in disbelief.
"How is she even fine after that?" Jane asked, her voice tinged with astonishment.
As Diana joined the group, she tilted her head, her gaze narrowing slightly as a faint red glow veined through her eyes. "What happened here?" she demanded, though she already had her suspicions.
Seeing another super power wielder, others understood how she is fine.
"Are we still on Earth?" Darcy muttered, while Dr. Selvig and Jane exchanged uncertain glances, unable to answer. While Dave filled in Diana of what she missed.
"Damm, If I had known it earlier I would have came out" She mumbled hearing the details.
"Well, now the problem is solved," Dave said, clapping his hands together nonchalantly as he turned toward Thor. "Now that you have your powers back, let's fight," he said, cracking his knuckles with a grin.
Thor stood tall, gripping his hammer tightly. Before he could respond, Jane rushed to his side. "You shouldn't fight him. Maybe you should… I don't know… go back and confront your brother why he lied to you?" she suggested, her concern evident. It wasn't that she wanted him to back down, but she knew if he fought Dave, he would undoubtedly end up beaten to a pulp.
"Thor, she's right," Sif interjected, stepping forward. "Let's return to Asgard before Loki does something else. " She said while she inwardly added ' You've just regained your confidence—I don't want you losing it again in a fight you can't win.'
Dave, observing their hesitation, rolled his eyes. He's not that weak, he thought, glancing at Thor. Thor, however, nodded solemnly.
"They're right," Thor admitted. "Although it would be an honor to fight a warrior like you, Asgard needs me." Raising his hammer high, he shouted, "Heimdall!"
But nothing happened.
Thor furrowed his brow, yelling again, louder this time. "Heimdall!!"
As his voice echoed through the barren landscape without a response, Black Widow turned to Volstagg, her expression skeptical. "Was there any other Asgardian here who could help?"
Volstagg chuckled. "No, Heimdall is the one who controls the Bifrost. With it, he can transport us between realms—worlds, if you will." He then paused, his grin fading slightly. "But… it seems he's busy and isn't hearing us right now."
Thor let out a frustrated sigh, lowering Mjolnir as he muttered under his breath. Meanwhile, Volstagg glanced at Dave with a mix of admiration and curiosity. "I truly wonder how you train every day," he said, marveling at the raw power he had just witnessed.
Dave offered a small smile. "It takes more than just training," he replied, a glint of amusement in his eyes. After a moment's pause, he added, "Can I come with you?"
Thor turned to him, raising an eyebrow, then broke into a broad smile. "Sure. A warrior like you is always welcome in Asgard!" he declared enthusiastically before anyone else could object.
Sif and the Warriors Three exchanged worried glances. While they respected Thor's decision, the idea of someone as unpredictable and powerful as Dave visiting Asgard left them uneasy.
'I hope he won't just attack Asgard like that,' they all thought, stealing nervous glances at each other. They looked around the desolate area where the town once stood, a vivid reminder of Dave's strength.
Finally, Sif sighed. "If Thor has invited him, then so be it," she said under her breath, masking her concern.
Thor lifted his hammer again, he said. "Heimdall, open the Bifrost! And this time… don't keep us waiting!"
Fortunately, this time Heimdall opened the Bifrost. The brilliant, multicolored light descended from the sky, enveloping Thor and the others, including Dave. Diana, standing close to Dave, was also caught in its range, along with Black Widow.
As the light lifted them, transporting them through realms, Black Widow glanced around cautiously. Though she didn't originally intend to leave Earth, her curiosity about Asgard's rulers and their world made her relax slightly, deciding to take this unexpected opportunity.
Diana, on the other hand, was in awe. She felt as though she was entering another world—a truly epic new realm. Despite her excitement, she kept close to Dave, her grip tightening as they traveled through the kaleidoscope of colors and light in the Bifrost. The experience was surreal, almost dreamlike, as the sensation of being flung across space left her momentarily speechless.
As the group arrived in Asgard, Dave remained calm, mentally reactivating his Dante and Mummud templates. He earlier focused solely on the Whitebeard template, hoping to experience a good fight with Thor. But now that he refused he activated his other Templates once again.
