Summoning Pokémon in Naruto

Chapter 33: Chapter 33: The Fall of Uzushiogakure

Kushina couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope as she thought of Hayato—the mysterious boy she had mentioned earlier.

Could Hayato truly accomplish what even the Hokage hesitated to do?

She followed Kushina into the Uchiha compound, the sight of the clan's iconic fan crest confirming their location.

Pushing open the simple wooden doors to Hayato's home, Kushina led the way. The interior remained modest and unchanged from two years ago.

"Who is this person you want me to meet?" Asako asked, her confusion apparent.

Kushina chuckled lightly and lifted a section of the floor, revealing a hidden, dark entrance.

"This is Hayato's secret base," Kushina explained. "He built it himself by digging out this area. When he's not training, he's usually here."

Descending into the dim passage, Asako followed closely behind Kushina. Gradually, the path brightened, and they reached their destination.

There he was—a boy.

He wore a white top draped loosely over his frame, paired with sleek black ninja trousers. His hair cascaded naturally over his shoulders. Upon hearing their footsteps, his sharp profile turned to face them, revealing a face that could only be described as striking.

"He's... very handsome," Asako muttered, catching herself as she wiped the corner of her mouth, reminded of why Kushina had brought her here.

Hayato, noticing Asako's vibrant red hair, immediately understood. How could he have forgotten something so critical?

[Ding! Mission issued: The Fall of Uzushiogakure.]

[Rescue the Uzumaki clan members. Rewards will depend on the extent of the rescue. Failure will not incur penalties.]

"I…" Kushina's voice trembled with urgency, though she wasn't entirely certain what she wanted to ask of Hayato.

"You don't need to say anything. I already know," Hayato replied with a reassuring smile, his tone brimming with confidence. "Nice to meet you. I'm Uchiha Hayato."

Asako hesitated for a moment before hurriedly bowing. The boy looked about the same age as Kushina but stood noticeably taller.

"You already know?" Kushina asked, perplexed. She hadn't even explained the situation yet.

"You want me to help rescue the Uzumaki clan, right?" Hayato said with a faint chuckle. Seeing the worry etched on Kushina's face, anyone could guess what was on her mind.

Kushina's anxiety eased slightly, and she nodded rapidly. "Yes! You're close to Lord Third. If you could just persuade him, Konoha would definitely send reinforcements."

Hayato shook his head, his expression steady.

"Kushina, you don't know Hiruzen Sarutobi like I do," he said. "He's a kind-hearted leader who values the village, but he lacks the decisiveness to act quickly unless faced with an absolute crisis. By the time Konoha organizes a response, Uzushiogakure will already be lost."

Pulling out a Luxury Ball, Hayato summoned Chimchar, whose fiery figure appeared with a spirited cry.

"Blaze, are you ready for a real fight?"

"Chaaaar!" Chimchar responded, its enthusiasm ignited.

[Name: Chimchar]

[Gender: Male]

[Ability: Blaze (Increases the power of Fire-type moves when HP is low)]

[Type: Fire]

[Held Item: Charcoal]

[Moves: Scratch, Leer, Double Kick, Fire Punch, Fake Out, Ember, Taunt, Fury Swipes, Flame Wheel, Nasty Plot, Uproar, Feint, Thunder Punch, Agility, Flame Charge]

In the two years since Hayato had met Chimchar, it had yet to evolve—not because Hayato prevented it, but because its growth had surpassed expectations. Standing nearly a meter tall, it resembled a leader among Pokémon. If it desired, it could evolve at any moment.

Hayato turned to Kushina with a firm expression. "If you want to wait for Lord Third's orders, I can't help you. But if you're willing to take a risk, we can leave the village right now and head to Uzushiogakure at full speed. It's the only chance to save them."

Kushina, though mentally prepared, was still taken aback.

"Hayato, do you know what leaving the village without permission means?" she asked, her voice trembling.

"It means being labeled a missing-nin," Hayato said with certainty. "Every missing-nin is hunted—not just by the ANBU but by wandering ninja and samurai as well."

He then smiled. "But I'm different. I'm well-known in Konoha and even among the higher-ups in the Land of Fire. At worst, I'd face house arrest. Besides, I refuse to believe the Uzumaki clan will perish so easily."

Kushina was visibly shaken but moved by his confidence. "Do you really think it's possible?"

"When have I ever lied to you?" Hayato gently ruffled her hair, his gaze steady.

"You're not the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki. You're not just a ninja of Konoha. Right now, you're simply Kushina Uzumaki, the girl called the Red Hot Habanero."

Kushina's heart swelled with a newfound warmth. Whatever the future held, at this moment, she felt a rare sense of peace.

Asako bit her lip, observing their interaction. Finally, she said, "If you're both willing to go this far, then count me in. What's the plan?"

Hayato's eyes glimmered. "First, we need to pass through Konoha's gates and reach Uzushiogakure as quickly as possible. No delays, no wasting energy."

Despite her resolve, Asako couldn't suppress a flicker of doubt. Could a group of young ninja truly save an entire village?

Hayato's smile was calm but confident. "Let's start by evolving Chimchar and Growlithe."
