Strongest Maniac: Born in an Asylum

Chapter 52: Green-Haired Malevolent Entity, King Kong Gorilla — Gargamel

One-Eye didn't want to see the mental patients. But he couldn't help but keep tabs on their situation.

Leo had climbed onto a high-voltage box and been electrocuted to the point of smoking, even smelling of cooked meat. A normal person would have been dead on the spot, no hospital needed. But the news he had just received was that he was still alive.

Though he wasn't up and jumping around, he could eat, drink, and continue to spout nonsense.

One-Eye was shocked. What was going on with this person? How did he have such abilities? Was his physical resistance that strong?

The current from a high-voltage box was something even a Level 6 master couldn't withstand, let alone two mental patients.

But the miraculous thing was... he had survived, and aside from the burns all over his body, he was perfectly fine.

"Should I go to the asylum?"

He fell into deep thought, then was startled by the idea. Why would he have such a thought? Had he not learned his lesson after being tricked so many times?

What a wretched idea. He would absolutely not go looking for those two patients.

That night! Nine o'clock.

The city center of Seaside City was still bustling, but on a grimy, rundown street, only one shop was still lit. The owner stood at the entrance, looking up and down the street. Not a single customer passed by.

He had to close up.

Ever since the news broke that malevolent entities were hiding in Seaside City, the dark, deserted streets were empty at night.

Zhao Jinlong stood at the entrance of his shop and looked up at the sign.

Trendy Hair Salon!

Business hadn't been great today; he had only made a little over 300.

Green hair, studded shoes, a gaudy jacket—he was the epitome of the trendy world. He had started learning his trade at the age of 13 under Master Tony. At 18, he had graduated and used his years of savings to open his own hair salon, dreaming of becoming a Master Tony himself. But reality and fantasy were two different things. It wasn't something you could achieve just by wanting it.

Zhao Jinlong turned off the lights in the shop, stood at the entrance, and pulled down the rolling shutter. He was ready to ride his beloved electric scooter, "Ghost Fire," to grab some barbecue, have a couple of beers, and then go home to rest.

Though his life wasn't particularly exciting, it was fulfilling enough.

Clank!

Zhao Jinlong pulled down the shutter. But suddenly, he felt a chill behind him. A large shadow loomed over him. The hand holding the key trembled. He remembered the news about the malevolent entities and prayed he wasn't that unlucky.

He wanted to turn around, but he didn't dare. He was afraid of seeing some terrifying creature and being swallowed whole.

Zhao Jinlong stood frozen, his legs trembling, sweat dripping from his forehead. He glanced to the side and saw a large, hairy hand gripping the shutter.

That was definitely not a human hand.

Tears streamed down his face. "Big brother," he begged, "you can't eat me. I'm a pathetic person too. Please don't do this to me. I work hard every day, up at 6 in the morning, and I don't go to bed until 11 or 12 at night. I only make a few tens of thousands a year. I even got dumped by my girlfriend."

"Give me a chance. Just let me live."

Creak!

The large hand forcefully lifted the shutter.

Zhao Jinlong didn't dare turn around. The back of his neck prickled, the hairs standing on end. He wanted to look, but he didn't have the courage. He could only stand there with his head down.

Suddenly, he was pushed into the room. The force was so strong that he couldn't keep his footing.

Click!

The lights in the hair salon turned on.

Zhao Jinlong glanced up and saw the reflection of the massive creature in the mirror. It was a giant black gorilla.

Ah! I'm fainting.

He collapsed to the ground, completely unresponsive, thoroughly fainted.

"Hoo... hoo..."

The malevolent gorilla looked at the fainted human on the ground, showing no signs of aggression. It searched the room for something. Its fur was black and glossy, its muscles powerful, radiating an explosive strength.

The only imperfection was that the gorilla was bald, with only a little bit of hair on the sides of its head.

The gorilla had been hiding since it arrived in Seaside City. It had tried to use a human to conceal itself, but the human had wanted to send it to the zoo. To the gorilla, this was an outrageous act. How could a mighty being like the King Kong Gorilla be sent to a zoo?

So it had secretly escaped and hidden itself. Because its size was similar to a human's and it mostly came out at night, it had remained undetected.

It was different from other malevolent entities. They liked to eat people and cause destruction. But he liked to make himself look beautiful. The only thing that bothered him was his hair. It was a constant source of insecurity.

The gorilla saw a green wig displayed on a mannequin head. It happily picked it up and placed it on its own head. It looked at itself in the mirror, from left to right. It looked pretty good.

It then found some rubber cement, squeezed it onto its head, and attached the wig. It struck various bodybuilding poses in front of the mirror. It was so handsome.

"Hoo hoo!"

"Gargamel!"

The King Kong Gorilla was very happy. It was about to leave when it picked up the electric scooter key from the floor. It walked outside, scratching its itchy butt.

Zhao Jinlong had been faking his faint. He thought he was going to die. But the gorilla hadn't even noticed him. It had just stolen his beloved green wig and his Ghost Fire electric scooter. How could this be?

But then he thought about how he had managed to keep his life, and a sigh of relief escaped him. What a blessing.

Then, he saw the gorilla riding his Ghost Fire. The scooter's frame sagged, the back tire deflating. With a whoosh, it disappeared into the night.

"AH! No! My Ghost Fire!"

Zhao Jinlong reached out in despair, as if to say, My love... don't leave me.

He took out his phone and immediately called the police.

"Hello! I want to report a crime! A giant gorilla just stole my green wig and my Ghost Fire electric scooter! You have to come quickly!"

Zhao Jinlong was distraught.

"Sir, have you been taking any drugs?" a gentle voice from the operator asked. Her first reaction was that the caller was high.

"I haven't been taking any drugs! I own a hair salon! What drugs would I be taking?"

"You have to come quickly!"

"He's riding away on my Ghost Fire!"

In the dark streets, a King Kong Gorilla wearing a green wig rode an electric scooter through the city. Its driving skills were surprisingly good. The wind blew through its green hair, and it instinctively reached up to pat it down.

The human world wasn't so bad. He quite liked living here, but he knew the humans were looking for them, so he had to hide and stay out of sight.

Just then, a malevolent praying mantis appeared in the dark street ahead. It was over a meter tall, its scythe-like forelimbs gleaming with a sinister light.

The mantis made a sound, not a human voice, but the special communication sound of a malevolent entity.

"You are a malevolent entity, yet you live in the human world. You are not worthy of being one of us."

"Die."

The mantis charged towards the King Kong Gorilla, its scythe-like limbs slashing through the air, trying to cut the gorilla in half.

BAM!

A loud noise echoed through the street.

The taillights of the Ghost Fire disappeared into the darkness.

Where the mantis had been, there was now only a mangled corpse, its sticky blood splattered on the ground. The mantis's head lay alone, its eyes wide open, not understanding what had happened even in death.
