Chapter 13: Strongest Gacha God ch13 The Assassin pt2.
Felix was facing an existential crisis.
A few days ago he had just been an average highschooler addicted to gambling for characters in games and now here he was sitted on a camel in a desert.
Beside him were a group of psychopaths and infornt of him was a horde of dried up corpses each grostque to look at.
"Undead. Since when this the magi desert have undead?" Dorothy snapped closing her book and drawing a series of magic circles in the air.
"Since a necromancery stepped forth in it."
Pointing her spear foward, Diesel eyes glowed, wrapping the scenarios infornt of her and focusing solely on the cloak pale skinned individual marching toward them with a rusty opended lantern pouring out violet incense into the surrounding.
"A necromancer."
[Individuals from the summon class with a trait of summon undead creatures.]
"I know what a necromancer is." He snapped taking out his own sword.
"Yo kid you actually want to fight."
Both Marcus and Diesel looked at him in amazement.
"It's kill or be killed and I'm not going to be a sitting duck."
"Hahahaha...now that's interesting but this doesn't concern you."
"But...."
"There's a settlement up straight. It's called Orchids. A pretty nice place. We'll clear a path for you and you're ran. Understood."
"...."
" This isn't you fight and we don't want you getting killed on us."
Diesel's words cutted deep but he nodded neitherless.
" When I gave you the signal you're flee."
"... Yes!" Felix nod.
Diesel satisfied grinned and stepped forward, the horde of undeady drawing close to her.
"Necromancer!" She shouted, her deep voice echoing through the valley and directed solely at the cloaked individual at the far end of the horde.
"Who sent you?"
"My contract doesn't entitle you to know. Just hand over the package and..."
"You're let us go." Marcus mocked.
"No your death would be painless."
A sinister wave of orange mana surged out their body when they spoke.
"Then we'll do this the hard way."
Without hesitation Marcus ranned towards the nearest undead, then with a series of precise strikes aimed at it's joint and spine, left it crippled on the ground.
Diesel followed soon after, a single hop propelling her deep within the horde where she crashed down like a meoter turning does caught in her fall into paste and those around the crash sight scattering back.
With no time to waste, she lowered her stance, her kneel bent and her spear draw back. A dangerous glint flashed in her green eyes and she pounced fowards, darting straight ahead like an arrow, her target the necromancer whom streched their hand foward to send a foul violet cloud at her.
[Sky crasher: First form]
Faced with possible resistance, Diesel killed her momentum just before she hit the cloud, then with a blurry motion raised her spear and slash the cloud.
A tint of black mana wrapped around the tip of her weapon, tracing an obsidian slash that splitted the cloud in two and left a scar on the desert sand.
"A B rank."
Watching how effortlessly, his summons attack had been cleave through, the Necromancer concluded spreading both arms apart and releasing more of the violet cloud out the latern he held.
While Diesel was busy dealing with the cloud, Evelyn dismount of the camel, her dagger drawn in a reverse grip.
She shot Felix a purposefully glare which the later did not understand but nod neitherless.
After that she joined Marcus in dispatching of the undead.
She moved with grace and ruthlessness, her dagger covered in a red coating which intensified the more undeads she cut down.
An undead, vicious in apperenace lunged at her from the left but without a delay in movement, she sidestepped it's approach, her calculating eyes observing the trajectory of it's approach and placing her dagger in place to cut it down.
Unlike Diesel, her and Marcus couldn't destroy undeads hence they focused primarily on making them as crippled as possible buy enough time for Diesel to defeat the Necromancer and end this all.
She didn't like putting her trust in that woman especially after what she did to her years ago but she was the only useful one in this battle hence she had no choice.
Displeased she dodged a claw strike from an undead and counter with by piercing deep into it's shoulder before dragging down her dagger to cut down it's arm.
The undead growl only to received a dazzling side kick that send to crashing into another.
It would take a few seconds before it regenerate but that would be enough time to crippled a few more.
While she moved so too did she make a mental map of the battlefield trying to unravel the best escape path for their temporary member.
She wasn't a saint especially after the choices she had made over the years.
In her profession being a saint was a no go but that didn't mean she wasn't capable of being good.
As an assassin she had one creed to never create unnecessary casualties and right now Felix was one of those.
No matter how suspicious the boy was, he had sought them out because he couldn't survive alone in the desert.
They had made the mistake of taking him in and had evey involved him in a mess of their own.
If he had been strong they wouldn't have minded his assistance but as he was now,
He was dead weight one they could'nt take responsibility for hence they needed to get him out of here before he got killed.
Scanning through the battlefield while crippling more and more undead she keep track of the necromancer's position.
They were still engaged in a relentless battle with Diesel whom was continuously cutting down all the cloud the Necromancer threw at her.
"His not going all out but his attention is solely on Diesel so..."
Throwing a quick glance at Marcus she shouted.
"Marcus now."
The young man with a twisted sense of humor broke out the horde and grabbed Felix by the hand before tossing the boy over the horde and right at her.
"Tsk."
The necromancer's gaze flashed on the boy screaming in the air but before he could act, Evelyn kicked of the ground, dodging the unstreched hands of the horde below her before grabbing a hold of Felix.
"Listen!"
Crandling him in her arms she kicked of the head of the zombies, running over them with a stern look.
"Beware of sandpit and sandworms. The former is usually related to the later. So when you see a sandpit keep you steps steady."
"Thank you." He said.
Evelyn didn't respond launching herself pass the horde and throwing Felix foward.
"Go straight ahead."
In a final desperate scream, she instructed Felix before shifting her weight in time to deflect a pair of solidified daggers made of cloud.
Felix landing a few meters from her looked back at her full of gratitude before he paced ahead without hesitation.
