SWNOVELXO Chapter 19: Kamikaze
Third Person PoV
Kojou woke up from his bed, with Nagisa laying on his chest. He gently nudged her to wake her.
"Aree, Kojou-kun it is morning already?"
"Yes it is, now wake up. You have school today!"
"5 more minutes!" Nagisa whined.
"Well sure, you will have to eat my cooking for breakfast and lunch though."
That sentence made Nagsia jump out of the bed and run towards the shower. Kojou was decent enough cook, exceptional even if only a select few dishes were considered.
But Nagisa preferred her own cooking.
Kojou also got out of his bed and moved to see if Asagi was awake. He saw a swallow sitting on the ledge of his window and the promptl found that Asagi was awake too.
"Kojou, you are awake, Nagisa-chan too?"
"Yes."
Kojou gave Asagi a morning kiss and looked at her. She had dark circles under them.
"You didn't sleep last night?"
"Well someone sent me a decoding challenge. It took me some time to solve it. It was weird."
"What was it?"
"The final answer."
"What was that?"
"No idea. I dismissed it as a prank."
"Eh, leave it, it wouldn't be anything important."
The three got ready for school and went with the help of the monorail, Yukina joined them at the ground floor.
Kojou again noticed the swallow flying along with them. He ignored it, he felt that much paranoia won't do him any good.

A swallow, which was watching the windows of Kojou's house flew back to follow them for a little while before vanishing in light.
"How shameless, It seems I need to bring judgement to that man."
The mysterious woman said, as the shikigami showed her what was happening inside the Akatsuki household.

School went as normal, during lunch Kojou met up with Yukina who had asked him to accompany her somewhere.
"Ano, senpai. The voices last night were different than usual." The sword shaman meekly asked.
"Voices? I am no exorcist or psychologist. And you are the ones with the abilityclosest to an exorcist."
"I am not mentally ill, you know the moans!"
"Oh, you mean those voices, what about them? You are a healthy young girl. I will be sure to ask her to regulate it."
"No, it felt different than usual."
"I didn't know you paid such attention to my sex life, but whatever. And as to who it was, I think it should be obvious if you think about it. And enough about who I sleep with, why are we going to Natsuki-chan's office?"
"Fine. Minamiya-sensei must have information on Gardos."
"You are really going to catch that guy, remember the last time you tried something similar to this? Yeah it ended badly."
"I was unprepared for that, this time I will catch the terrorists."
Kojou didn't comment on that. Yukina, after reaching the top floor, opened the door just after knocking, without waiting.
"Natsuki-chan, got a minute?"
And like always he was hit in the head, this time by a flying book.
"I have told you not to call me Natsuki-chan. Learn your lesson- Hm? You came with him, transfer middle school student?"
"She has a name you know, no need to say such long terms." Kojou commented on the way Natsuki-chan called Yukina.
"What do you want?" The teacher said, ignoring Kojou's words.
"We are looking for a man named Christoph Gardos."
"Where did you hear that name." The witch's eye narrowed at that.
Kojou who was by now well seated on the sofa said.
"Dimitrie Vatler-" Kojou was interrupted.
"He should have kept his mouth shut! But why ask me?"
Yukina answered
"So I can catch him before he makes contact with Lord Ardeal."
The staring contest between the two attack mages was broken by the arrival of a familiar homunculus.
"Sorry to keep you waiting."
"Astarte-San?" Yukina blurted out.
"Oh you know her? She was kept under three years probation, so as an attack mage and educator I decided to do the nation some service. It also helps that I was looking for a loyal maid. Astarte, these two don't need tea, bring me some fresh black coffee."
"Accept."
But Kojou said. "Astarte, I need the tea."
"Accept."
Both the attack mages were shocked that a homunculus accepted the order of someone aside from their master.
"What are you staring at? Her familiar is under my control, she is kind of my servant too."
"So it was you, I wondered why her familiar didn't kill her. So you were providing it with life-force?"
"Yes."
Yukina remembered him biting the homunculus, that also brought the memory of him biting her too.
'Bad Yukina! Focus on the terrorists!'
"Where is Gardos?" Yukina again questioned.
"There is no need. Even if he does something, Vatler is a monster said to be the closet to the Primogenitors. And the BDEF can't do anything, their ancient weapon isn't usable."
"Ancient weapon?" Yukina said.
"Nalakuvera, a weapon of the gods said to have destroyed countless civilizations. Some company, Kanou Alchemical Industries smuggled in in, alongwith a stone tablet which explains how to use it."
"So that's why they are here, it makes sense they would want it, for their purpose. So where is this Nalakuvera?"
"Who knows, it was already stolen."
"What?" Yukina said in shock, while Kojou wasn't interested, after all Natsuki-chan just said that this weapon was unusable.
"Don't worry, linguistic experts and magical organisations across the world have failed to decipher it, and the one who tried to help in the research is already in custody."
"So we don't need to worry?"
"Yes, it can't be taken out of the island without alerting the island guard and it's most probable location is known. I was just about to go there."
"But still-"
"Anyways, Akatsuki Kojou, you should worry about yourself, Dimitrie Vatler has already consumed two high ranking vampires." The witch warned Kojou.
"Are you worried about me, Natsuki-chan? Don't be, between you and me as of now if we both fight to the death, I will win. It will be tough but I will win, I have a little trick up my sleeve."
"Then see that he doesn't get his fangs inside you."
"Ah! I am so touched Natsuki-chan is worried about me. I was right! I should have taken you alongwith me to the boat party."
The English teacher teleported outside of the room hearing him spew such sugary words.

While Kojou was acting like nothing was off, he was worried that Asagi was involved in this Nalakuvera mess, the timing of the decoding challenge is way to suspicious.
He planned on asking Asagi if the words Nalakuvera were used in her 'decoding challenge'.
He planned on having a talk about this right now.
"Himeragi, I will be going to the roof for some thing, you should go back to your classes."
"Hai?"
Saying so Kojou started walking towards the roof. Reaching there he messaged Asagi to come up.

He was sitting on the bench on the roof, when he saw a shadow move past him, as if something was above him.
He looked up and saw a greatsword coming down on him.
"What the fuck-?"
He moved out of the way and the bench was absolutely demolished. And he saw the attacker.
"Vatler's observer!" He said after seeing his ambusher.
"Shut up! You criminal! First you follow Yukina then take her blood? That beautiful, cute neck of her. Die!"
She swung her greatsword at him, Kojou dodged her. She was faster than Yukina, which was to be expected.
She also had more reach and her weapon was better suited for close combat compared to a spear.
Kojou jumped on top of the roof where the the stairs were, putting him at a higher spot than his attacker.
"How dare you violate my Yukina like that way?! You slide your lips down her neck, breath on her, nibble on her flesh-"
"Alright that is getting creepy at this point, calm down girl." Kojou said.
"And you still flirt with other girls, if not for you she will never be in danger. She wouldn't need to fight. Your existence brings pain to the only friend I have!"
She threw a paper charm towards Kojou, who jumped up to avoid it. But it was a trap. Knowing that Kojou was competent at fighting, Sayaka had made preparation beforehand.
Her messenger shikigami, a swallow was divebombing at Kojou, being mid air he couldn't dodge.
Sayaka had engraved a explosive rune on that shikigami, being a messenger it had no hostile intent making Kojou oblivious to it.
'It was the shikigami all along?' Kojou thought, regretting his decision to be not paranoid enough this morning.
Kojou created a diamond platform at his feet and jumped using it as a foothold.
The swallow missed and connected with the shed over the stairs. The charm that Sayaka threw before was also there.
Being an explosive charm, that alongwith the swallow, it created an explosion much greater than Sayaka intended and Kojou expected.
A girlish scream rang along with the blast.
"Kyaahhh!"
Kojou recognized the scream.
'Asagi, she must have reached the roof!'
He landed and quickly ran towards the blast and found that she was knocked out. The debris had hit her head and she was bleeding.
Kojou saw everything go blood red for a moment before his rational mind got back in control.
'Asagi takes priority.'
But in that little moment his power leaked, and he was channeling a large amount in his rage.
The school shook, the glass of the windows got cracked and broke, the power supply to the school was fried.
Kojou lifted Asagi bridal style and took her to the infirmary. Walking down the stairs he saw Yukina coming up.
She had her spear in her hand and was looking worried, he ignored her and got as fast as he could into the infirmary.
He laid Asagi down on the bed and checked for any other injuries. Except for that head one, he found none.
"The vampiric healing factor would take care of that little wound in no time. She should wake up in an hour."
Kojou said to himself.
By this time three people entered the nurse's office. Sayaka, Yukina and Nagisa.
They were soon standing a little bit away from him, as the murderous intent surrounding him was a bit terrifying.
Just then Astarte also entered the office. Seeing her Kojou had an idea.
"Astarte, take a look and Asagi and tell me her status."
"Accept."
The blue haired homunculus, checked on Asagi and told everyone her analysis.
"Medical checkup complete. Diagnosis: Minor bleeding due to injury of back of the head. It is recommended that she spend the rest of the day in bed for rest."
"Thank you, Astarte."
He then stood up and moved near Nagisa, he was now calm.
"Nagisa look after Asagi, okay. I will have a talk with this onee-san over here."
He then told Sayaka.
"Come to the roof."
And started to go there himself.
"Senpai-" But Yukina tried to stop him.
"Himeragi, would you prefer if i do this here?"
That effectively shut her up, she had never heard him talk with that much coldness in his voice.
It was like the entire room was getting colder. He didn't stop for much and went outside.
Sayaka shortly followed him. Yukina looked at her roommates back worryingly.

Kojou was standing at the roof his back facing towards the war dancer who just came.
"Let's do this, you want to kill me right? Then try it." Kojou said turning towards her.
The war dancer was now looking concerned.
'See Sayaka, this is what happens when you don't listen to master. She told me not to let my emotions cloud my judgement and i did just that. Now the 4th Primogenitor is pissed at me.'
She was mumbling an answer she prepared but he didn't hear it.
"Seems like you wouldn't come at me then I will begin."
Kojou unleashed his magical power, he concentrated it only on the roof, not destroying the school this time.
He raise his hand to summon his familiar. He had no plans on killing Sayaka, but he couldn't let anyone who hurt Asagi go scott free either.
Sayaka who had resigned to her fate, when she felt that she was being crushed by the magical power of the mightiest vampire in the world, started panicking when she saw his hand rise.
That action opened up a pandora's box in her memories and brought up some memories she had long since forgotten.

Yaze was roaming outside of his class in the corridor, he had a hand on his ear and was cursing Kojou.
His hyperadapter powers allowed him to manipulate sound waves and air currents. He was concentrating on finding Asagi and Kojou when the burst of energy from Kojou, destroyed his soundscape.
He was rendered useless for a few minutes now

Just before Sayaka had attacked Kojou, a suspicious balck van was parked near the gate of Saikai Academy.
The man inside it had a photo on his hand, the photo was of….
Asagi Aiba.
What are their intentions? And will Kojou be able to figure out if Asagi was the one who unintentionally decoded the ancient stone tablet?
