Starting from One Piece with the Rinnegan

Chapter 100: Chapter 100: Railgun

The Golden Bell shattered.

Even though Kaito had already lowered the power of Susanoo to its minimum, the bell still couldn't withstand the force of a single flick from Susanoo's finger.

The golden fragments were collected into the Door Space by Kaito. While he wasn't short on money these days, who would complain about having too much?

Bringing Conis back to the ground, they were immediately surrounded by a crowd. Under Gan Fall's lead, everyone dropped to one knee and shouted in unison:

"Greetings, O Divine One!"

Kaito raised an eyebrow. All he did was ring the Golden Bell—and break it in the process—and now these people were treating him like some kind of god?

Gan Fall looked up, his eyes burning with fanaticism. Ever since he had been overthrown by Enel, he'd grown disillusioned with the concept of gods, coming to believe they didn't exist at all.

But everything Kaito had just shown—the divine aura in his eyes—had rekindled his belief.

"O Divine One, please allow us to make the purple giant you summoned our totem!"

"Oh, you mean Susanoo? Sure, do whatever you want."

Kaito waved it off. Let them do as they pleased. With the Puppet stationed here, nothing crazy was going to happen. And giving them something to believe in might even make them easier to manage.

Conis, meanwhile, looked at Kaito with reluctant eyes. She knew he wouldn't stay here long—he'd even left a puppet behind to handle things in his place.

Though their time together had been short, everything they'd gone through had left a deep impression on her. She truly wanted to follow Kaito and see the Marines for herself. But she was still too young, so for now, she had no choice but to stay behind.

Kaito noticed the reluctance in her eyes. He crouched down, gently pinched her cheek, and said softly:

"All right now. Even from here, you can still talk to me whenever you like. Once you're older, I'll take you to join the Marines. You play the harp beautifully—and my ship still needs a musician."

"Mm! I'll definitely join the Marines!"

Seeing this little angel so determined, Kaito couldn't help but extend a finger and gently tap her tiny nose.

Conis didn't stop him—she just pouted and muttered,

"Hmph, just wait! I'll grow up in no time!"

After spending a bit more time with her, Kaito stood up. The coat with the kanji for "Justice" fluttered in the wind behind him.

He gave the crowd one last glance, then ruffled Conis's hair. Lightning flashed in his eyes.

A clap of thunder rang out—and in the next instant, Kaito vanished before everyone's eyes, leaving only the faint arcs of residual electricity in the air.

...

Not long after, Kaito—transformed into a streak of lightning—was nearing the first half of the Grand Line.

Thanks to his powerful body and the mental enhancement granted by the Rinnegan, Kaito could push the speed of lightning to its limits.

The electric stimulation also sharpened his neural responses, making his movement even faster than teleporting via ROOM space.

After all, using the Goro Goro no Mi didn't require him to open a ROOM space first—it was much more freeform and unrestrained.

Kaito hadn't used Flying Thunder God to return directly to HQ. Instead, he wanted to get familiar with his newly obtained Goro Goro no Mi powers along the way.

This was the first Logia-type Devil Fruit he'd ever absorbed, and he had a soft spot for it. Back when he watched One Piece on Blue Star, lightning was one of the powers he'd wanted the most.

Closing his eyes, Kaito released his Observation Haki, now enhanced by electricity. It expanded outward in all directions.

He could now sense sounds across thousands of kilometers, and thanks to the electric stimulation, his brain processed all that input with crystal clarity, unaffected by sensory overload.

This form of Observation Haki was called "Mantra" on Skypiea. But in Kaito's hands, it had become so much stronger—it could only be called a Heavenly Net.

Still, funneling such a chaotic flood of sound into the brain wasn't exactly pleasant. Kaito narrowed the scope of the Heavenly Net—better to keep things peaceful.

During that scan, he picked up an unexpected signal: a pirate ship several dozen nautical miles away.

From the info he gleaned, he learned the group called themselves the Black Bear Pirates—a crew trying to enter the Grand Line.

Unfortunately for them, their luck had just run out. Even from this distance, they'd been noticed by Kaito. Their journey was about to end here.

Kaito thought for a moment, then pulled a coin out of his pocket. It was a high-value one—worth a full Belly.

Realistically, a few dozen miles wasn't far at all for Kaito anymore. He could summon thunderclouds right above the Black Bear Pirates and strike them down in an instant.

But there was one move Kaito had been dying to try for a long time: Railgun.

Now that he had lightning powers, how could he not pull off the iconic move of "Railgun Girl"? Kaito had been a bit of a chuuni himself back on Earth.

(T/N: Chuuni is a Japanese slang term that translates to "middle school second-year syndrome")

He pressed his thumb against the Belly coin, aimed it forward, and arcs of lightning began crackling around his arm.

Flick.

The coin shot out like a bolt, leaving a dazzling trail of electricity behind it.

...

Meanwhile, on the Black Bear Pirates' ship, the crew was sitting around drinking beer, excitedly discussing their future exploits in the Grand Line.

At the center sat a burly man with a pair of black bear ears on his head. He was from the North Blue and had a bounty of 80 million Belly. His name was Biel, and he was a Zoan-type Bear-Bear Fruit user.

Slamming his mug down on the table, his face flushed with alcohol, he shouted,

"Boys! Once we hit the Grand Line, we're gonna loot till we drop! That place is full of rare treasures—we're gonna get rich, hahaha!"

"Ohhh! Prepare to witness the rise of the mighty Black Bear Pirates!"

Suddenly, Biel's bear ears twitched. The hairs on his body stood up straight.

That was why he liked staying in his half-beast form—it let him tap into animal instincts to sense danger.

"Tch... Something feels off."

"Huh? What is it, Captain?"

"I..."

BOOM!

Before Biel could finish his sentence, a massive bolt of lightning slammed into their ship.

The pirates were still raising their mugs, still lost in their dreams—when the lightning obliterated everything, reducing the entire vessel to a drifting cloud of black ash.

All that remained was a single one-Belly coin floating on the sea surface. Wrapped in electricity, it had somehow survived the blast.

The Black Bear Pirates had been completely and utterly erased—scattered into the sea breeze.

Sometimes, a dream ends before it even begins.

...

Kaito, already informed of their demise via the Heavenly Net, nodded in satisfaction. He didn't bother recovering any bodies for merit points—enemies of this level weren't even worth the paperwork.

Still, this pirate crew held a special place in his heart.

They were the first ones he had ever spent money to eliminate.

A full Belly.
