Star King Chronicles

Chapter 7: They Shall Unite All Nations As One

The document was well-written and stated the terms of the partnership quite plainly:

Nasiah would first aid him in the fight against House Yuseff. He would need to drive them all away and reclaim the land that they occupied.

In exchange, Forenus would not claim Myrym as his prisoner and would ally themselves with Nasiah. This would offer him the title of Count, and he would be allowed to own land as well as call for resources and men to his aid, but he must also answer his beck and call.

Myrym looked up to Forenus. "Are you open to some changes in the agreement?"

She knew that he wanted to have Nasiah at his command; if he signed this agreement, then he might as well have written his life away to the separatists. Myrym could not have that.

Forenus narrowed his eyes. "What do you propose?"

He knew that she probably figured out what he wanted, so now it was all about compromising as much as possible to leverage it to his side.

Myrym sat down on one of the rocks, bringing Nasiah to her side. "My son has no need of land or a title, much less your men and resources. Instead, I propose a simple peace treaty between our parties. Your people being the first party and the second being my son and I."

Forcas snorted out a laugh. Her master would never agree to such ludicrous terms, especially if the boy were valuable enough for a treaty to happen.

Forenus sat down opposite to Myrym. "Your son desires to be king of this world; what is a king without land, people, and resources? That is no king."

Nasiah nodded. "He's right; a king needs all of those."

Myrym shook her head. "We will acquire them some other way. Not through you."

The Great Marquis looked at Nasiah and then back to Myrym. "How about this? He receives training for both physical and Magickal to aid him in his goal to become king, and I bring him to Duchess Astorath for a chance to become a Marquis. Imagine that he would be so close to the throne, he would practically be a prince."

Nasiah's eyes sparkled at that, but Myrym bit her lip. That was even worse! She can't have her son be anywhere near one of the leaders of the separatists!

"Hmm, the training sounds quite nice, but I'm sure there's a better compromise… how about a partnership but not because of any political loyalty. There is no answering due to a royal need, simply because you two are honor-bound."

Forenus thought about this for a moment. What he needed above all was to be partnered with and to have Nasiah at his beck and call.

The only thing making the partnership non-political would do was essentially ensure that he would not be aligned with those that wish to stay with the Queen.

"That, I can accept. Shall I write up a new document?"

Myrym had a small smile on her face as she had already written down the new agreement on two pieces of paper she tore off from her notebook with the added agreement of a proper honor-bound partnership between Nasiah and Forenus directly.

She handed it over to the Great Marquis who read it over and then signed it. She then handed it to Nasiah, who she taught at the moment, on how to sign it.

After both parties agreed and properly signed both copies, she gave one to the Marquis and one to herself.

Nasiah looked up at Myrym with a smile. "We did it, Mother! You're free!"

He hugged her waist, and she patted his head. "I… I guess I am… Thank you for that."

The boy shook his head. "You also helped; you got the best possible agreement for us all! Thank you for that!"

Nasiah gave her a bright smile that warmed her heart and nearly brought her to tears. She never had this feeling before in her life. It felt so… giddy and lovely.

She lifted her son up into the air and nuzzled their cheeks together, laughing for a moment as she felt a weight lift from her chest.

It was all well and good until Forcas called out to them. "Hey, you two! There's still a war, and the little man is needed for it!"

Myrym placed her son down to her side and nodded. "I will be accompanying him for this journey as well, and so shall my servants."

Forcas looked to her master who gave them a nod. "Then you all shall be our passengers."

He turned around and walked to his ship with Forcas by his side. "We shall await you all on board."

Myrym breathed a sigh of relief and lifted Nasiah into her arms as they returned to the house to gather her servants.

----------

After everyone packed up, Nasiah and Myrym led the servants towards the ships. The butlers and maids would be on a separate vessel compared to the son and mother duo who stayed on the personal ship of Forenus.

It was not long until the anchors were weighed and the sails opened up. Then finally, after all was said and done, they finally sailed out of the island.
