SSS-Ranked Skill in a New Filthy World

Chapter 136 First Assignment

The next day moved so quickly, probably because Roman had somewhere to be, even though Ava slept before him, he woke up very early, so early none of the other students were up.

Then he went to the training ground and run laps around the training ground, even after he was done the sky was still dark meaning it was probably midnight.

Roman walked back to the dorm and took his bath alone, when he was done he went back to his room and laid down till his thoughts were interrupted by a loud ringing sound.

Only the ringing sound and then it stopped, Roman jumped up from his bed and headed straight to the main building while the girls took their baths.

In class they continued on spells and now Roman knew why Miss Clara gave the assignment and they couldn't use spell books from the library.

During the last class she showed them the spell circle for flame magic, and during this class she showed the spell circle for basic water and earth magic.

She didn't make it obvious and just blended it into the class but Roman noticed, she was practically giving the answers.

The class went by smoothly as Roman couldn't focus Mana into his eyes, but he couldn't do it for long so he had to rest and continued.

As soon as the class was over Roman was one of the first people to leave, and he went straight for dining hall and had his breakfast, as usual the food was absolutely delicious.

The rest of the students flooded the dining hall while Roman was still eating, the class took too long and it was already close to noon so all the students were equally hungry.

Roman didn't pay attention to any of the girls as he ate, until two plates were kept on his table and he turned to look at them.

Ava and Reina both wanted to seat with Roman, they got their meals at the same time, Ava sat down first and Reina sat beside her staring at her.

Roman didn't even speak and in a surprising twist, another plate was dropped on the table and the princess sat down too.

Ava and Reina sat in front of Roman while Aurelia sat close to him, he definitely wasn't expecting that but since she was Reina's roommate and she knew Roman.

"Princess, what are you doing here?" Ava asked.

"What am I doing in the dining hall, I'm here to train" Aurelia replied and Reina laughed before covering her mouth.

"I meant here in this table, do you know Roman?"

"Have you forgotten he came to the palace first, why would you even ask that, because he's your roommate"

"I'm just curious that's all" Ava replied.

"Roman I have something I want to tell you" Reina said and Roman looked at her.

"What is it?"

"A noble family wants to adopt me as their daughter, what do you think I should do?" Reina asked.

"Wait... you're asking me, how would I know, do you know the family that wants to adopt you, have you gone to their place and look around?" Roman asked.

"Look around? Why would she need to do that, she needs to accept the offer as long as it's a Noble family" Ava said.

"Howany offers did you get, of you gotore than one you should tell me their names, I can tell which one is better...also why didn't you tell me?" Aurelia asked.

"We met few days ago, and it's only one family... though they already sent for my mother so she'll check them but I'm sure she'll accept any of them, I just wanted to ask Roman what he thought" Reina replied.

"You should do whatever you like"

"Maybe the two of you can start a Noble family" Ava joked.

"You'll have to win a great battle and contribute to the kingdom to become a Royal family, or have a ridiculous amount of money, buy a house and then register your family names in the palace... you'll also have to be backed by at least one other Noble family" Aurelia spoke.

"So anyone can be created a Noble family, you just have to contribute" Roman muttered as he placed his hands on his jaws and nodded his head.

"What? Are you planning to?" Reina asked.

"I mean why not, I'll have to stay in the academy first before planning that"

"If you do I want to be part of your family" Reina replied.

"You just heard the requirements and you still want to, how are you going to do any of that?" Ava asked.

"I'll just win a great battle" Roman chuckled and the group laughed.

Roman was the first to be done and as soon as he was done he stood up, the girls were still talking when he stood up and left the dining hall.

Roman didn't have any idea when Miss Victoria would come for him but he just had to be on the training ground so he walked towards the training ground and stood in front of a magical training dummy.

Roman didn't have somewhere to sit so he just rested his back on the dummy and closed his eyes, he wanted to see if he could do what he did yesterday.

As soon as he closed his eyes he immediately located his Mana core and just like yesterday his Mana veins were next and he pushed Mana to his hands without casting a spell, he could feel the Mana in his hands.

Then at the same time he pushed Mana to his eyes to check if he could see the Mana in his hands just like he could see the projection of spell circle but he couldn't.

'One at a time, at least I'm getting the hand of Mana control, I wonder where...'

"You're finally here, now walk towards the library, you'll see a building close to the library, a small room, walk in" Roman heard Victoria's voice.

It felt like the voice was in his head but he wasn't that surprised since he knew she was going to reach him some way or the other, he thought she would just appear to him.

Roman began walking towards the library, and now few of the girls were done with eating and heading towards the dorm, all of them staring at him and occasionally looking away.

He was already used to this as he walked past, he got to the library and saw the building Victoria was talking about, it was a small building a little bit far from the library but it definitely wasn't a training ground since it was so small, or maybe she wanted something small.

Roman got to the building and pushed the door open, his jaw dropping as soon as he stepped in.

The place was massive—maybe even bigger than the main building. A huge arena stretched out before him, the ground covered in pale sand, and he could feel that the walls around were reinforced with Mana, heavy and dense.

Victoria stood near the center of the arena, waiting.

But the moment Roman took a step forward toward her, his knees buckled.

He crashed to the ground, the sand biting into his skin as something heavy pressed down on him. It felt like an invisible force pushing his shoulders to the floor, refusing to let him rise.

"That's your first assignment for today," Victoria called out, her voice calm as she stretched lazily. "The goal is to reach me. You can do anything, and remember, your Mana and magic are an extension of you—feel free to attack me with a spell."

Roman gritted his teeth, trying to lift himself, but nothing happened. His arms shook uselessly, and sweat started forming on his forehead.

'What the hell is this? It's like when I met the goddess… but a little weaker. Still, I can't stand at all. Is this a spell… or just raw Mana?'

Roman closed his eyes for a second, took a shaky breath, and pushed Mana into his eyes.

And there it was.

Like waves, invisible and thick, pushing down on him from above. The whole arena was covered in it, centered around Victoria, it was her Mana.

"I can't muster any strength… how can I possibly move from this spot? Isn't this too hard for the first time?" Roman forced the words out, voice strained.

"If this is difficult, then you're in a world of trouble," Victoria replied, not even bothering to open her eyes as she yawned.

"There's a trick to it, but me telling you would be like giving you the answer. You have an hour. I'm tired—I've been training since morning."

Then, right before his eyes, the chair she was sitting on shifted and turned into a bed, and she laid down, eyes closed.

"I'm going to sleep. Wake me up when you reach me."

Roman's chest heaved as he sucked in another breath, sweat dripping down his neck.

'Shit… this is fucking shit. How do I figure this out? If she's sleeping, I could fire a spell… but that can't be the answer. The pressure is too heavy, I can't even lift my hand properly…'

He dug his fingers into the sand, his arms trembling. Every muscle in his body screamed as he tried to push himself up.

'I have to do something… come on, move…!'
