SSS-Class Awakening: World Breaking Anomaly

Chapter 8: Squeaky [4/4]

"Mommy, we are back!" Amelia burst into their family's home, shouting and announcing her return with a cage in her hand.

She ignored the maids and searched everywhere excitedly until she eventually arrived at her parent's bedroom, where Alexandra and Taurus were present.

Taurus who was fast asleep, stirred awake and burst out crying intentionally upon her arrival to see her reaction.

"Oh, sweetie, look what you've done..."

"Now that you've woken your brother, why don't you show him what you brought home?" Alexandra spoke, hinting at her daughter to join them on the bed.

She smiled and rushed forward, happily compiling since that was what she wanted in the first place.

Amelia placed the small cage on the bed and pushed her hand inside, bringing the little critter out.

"Aahhhh… Unhandy me, you devil!!" The critter squeaked and twisted in her hands, his words unknown to everyone except Taurus.

She held it tightly in her arms, treating it like her own child as it squeaked louder.

"Be soft on it, honey. You don't want to hurt it, do you?" Alexandra spoke, calming her girl down and giving her advice.

"Can we name him Squeaky?!" Amelia took the advice seriously and did as told before softly lowering the critter on the bed.

Fearful of being around strangers and the new strange place, before distancing himself from them.

It jumped off the bed and went around the room, discovering it slowly and the girl allowed it his privacy.

It continued squeaking and protesting for a little while before giving up due to its hunger.

"Of course you can," Alexandra responded positively before offering Taurus his food.

He ate slowly as the critter's noisy complaints kept ringing in his ears.

Although he felt like comforting it, he couldn't do such a thing with them present.

In the end, the critter approached Amelia on its own and soon enough, she happily fed it for the first time.

It felt happy and gave her positive feedback through its purring-like noise and then it climbed the bed once again.

Time passed slowly as Amelia humored the critter by playing with it, and it eventually got used to her and her annoyance.

One thing is for sure, the little creature disliked Amelia's treatment to a certain degree.

Being carried around, drowned in kisses and squeezes was not something it liked. On the other hand, it liked the attention it was receiving.

Finally, the critter was no pushover by any means, it defended itself by punching, scratching, and sometimes, biting her or just cowering below the tight spots that she couldn't reach.

Once bored of playing, Squeaky ignored her before yawning and she naturally understood it wanted to sleep.

She sat on the bed next to it before petting it as it curled into a ball before shutting its eyes slowly.

Meanwhile, Edmund was having his chat with Mammot, and by the time his family was ready to sleep, he returned to his home.

The first thing he did was filling up his wife—ON THE SITUATION and recalling the nonsense his father heard from the titan.

"Calm down, honey. At least, you were praised." Alexander's words brightened her husband's face, making him proud. Still, those words were not enough to push the worries he had inside.

Although he didn't understand what the chosen matter meant exactly, he guessed Taurus would be super gifted at the very least. Such things would naturally bring unwanted attention.

While the monsters were considered enemies, they were not the only ones capable of harming his family.

"It's alright honey, there is no reason to concern yourself with something far in the future." Noticing her husband's state, Alexandra patted his back softly with a comforting smile painting her face.

"I suppose you are right, honey." Edmund released a sigh of relief before leaning on the other side of the bed as her advice was in his ears. "While we can't keep the titan a secret, it can handle itself well.

On the other hand, let's keep the second matter a secret." Edmund nodded his head, heavily agreeing with her.

"Those matters aside, how about we finally get some alone time tonight?" His demeanor shifted before rubbing his hands together, a grin taking form on his face as he spoke.

"How about getting your girl to sleep while I put my boy to sleep?" Alexandra gave him her affirmative and followed her orders right away before leaving the room a few moments later.

Meanwhile, Taurus smiled internally knowing his family was getting along very well.

The news of Mammot's arrival left him assured and removed the worries bulging his mind.

All he had to do now was wait until he was old to be permitted access so he could visit Mammot.

'A wisdom mammoth indeed, my ass.' He was deeply impressed by the nonsense his partner spewed to his grandfather.

And while he knew very well how dumb it sounded, he was glad Theodore allowed the titan to reside within their lands.

Knowing what his parents intended to do, Taurus dropped his thoughts and slowly drifted asleep, not wanting anything to do with them.

Thanks to his parents' efforts in keeping themselves quiet, he had a good night of sleep.

Time passed quickly and soon enough, four months passed.

Not long after, Taurus began crawling and surprisingly his simple actions were considered exercises to the interface.

'Is it because I'm young?' Taurus thought, deciding to take advantage of the situation.

He spent his private time crawling and using his toys as makeshift weights, practicing simple lifting.

His stats began rising slowly alongside his actions, but still at an acceptable rate since he didn't have to do anything serious yet.

That increase was mainly focused on his dexterity, vitality, and strength. Dexterity had the most, followed by strength, and then vitality being the least.

They were 7, 5, and 3 by now.

His health on the other side, was 75 despite him having only three points in vitality.

It was very normal since his health grew alongside his age, halting at two hundred eventually. After that point, one had to add their attribute points to Vitality to increase it.

He knew very well the matter was normal since the only thing he did was crawl around, holding small stuff, and babbling.

With the use of his traits, Taurus began leveling up as well. Each time he earned a stat, 5 would be added to his total and so, he had 60/100 experience.

Meanwhile, Amelia was very busy attempting to hit the level 15 and thus, she remained at the Eastels.

Her news would reach them now and then, and he naturally kept up with it, knowing she was level 12 by now. The critter, Taurus' new friend was ecstatic during her absence.

It kept him company, acting as a good friend and sharing some interesting or rather, awkward chats when alone together.

Meanwhile, Edmund returned to the battlefield to take his turn and replace the ones who were meant to take a break.

Thankfully, the situations were quiet due to the tension dropping considerably after months of peace and thus, he didn't have much work to do except keep vigilant while stationed there.
