Son, Put Your Father To The Test (FF)

Chapter 125: Chapter 125: The Confrontation at the Chu Family's Gate

The Chu family, one of the three grand royal clans in the Eastern Domain, was a powerhouse with deep roots and immense influence. Ordinarily, no one would dare to cause trouble at the Chu family's gate. However, today, an unexpected guest had arrived.

"I am Qin Zhi, and I've come to challenge the young master of the Chu family. Tell Chu Zhongtian to come out and face me!" Qin Zhi stood before the grand gate and shouted toward the inside.

"Where did this brat come from? You don't know your place. Get lost!" A gatekeeper wielding a black spear glared at him, exuding a violent aura. This man was a Saint of the Highest Heaven.

It wasn't that Saints of the Highest Heaven were reduced to guarding gates; rather, for a royal family like the Chu clan, it would be beneath their dignity to have gatekeepers of lower cultivation.

"Let Chu Zhongtian come out and fight me!" Qin Zhi repeated his challenge.

"Insolence! How dare you utter the young master's name directly? If you don't leave, I'll kill you!" the gatekeeper barked.

"Chu Zhongtian, come out and fight!" Qin Zhi yelled again.

"You're asking for death!!" The gatekeeper could no longer tolerate it. He soared into the air, surrounded by golden lightning like a thunder god. His black spear crackled with lightning as he thrust it toward Qin Zhi.

He could tell this young man had an extraordinary aura, likely a genius, but causing trouble at the Chu family's doorstep? If he died, it would be in vain. After all, who in the Eastern Domain would the Chu family fear?

However, just as the spear was about to strike, Qin Zhi suddenly shouted, "How dare you! My father is Qin Chuan!!"

Boom!

The gatekeeper's body trembled violently, as if struck by lightning, and he lost his balance, crashing to the ground. Quickly recovering with a swift movement, he jumped to his feet and anxiously asked, "Qin Chuan? Which Qin Chuan?"

Qin Zhi raised his head proudly and said, "The Qin Chuan you've definitely heard of. How many Qin Chuans could there be in the Eastern Domain?"

"Hiss!" The gatekeeper gasped and broke out in cold sweat. Bowing repeatedly, he apologized, "I see it's young master Qin! Forgive me for not recognizing you earlier. I offended you just now, please forgive me."

Fear gnawed at his heart. Technically, the Chu family could afford to provoke Qin Chuan, but that didn't mean he could. He wasn't part of the Chu family's inner circle. If that terrifying man came knocking, the Chu family might settle things peacefully by handing him over. After all, in minor matters, the Chu family's World Emperor ancestor would never get involved, and without him, the Chu family might end up like the Lu family…

"Heh, weren't you just being arrogant? Now you're scared?" Qin Zhi sneered, feeling triumphant. At last, he could hold his head high!

He'd always known he was the son of a powerful man, but others didn't. It was like showing off but having no one watch—it left something to be desired. Today, however, he finally experienced the satisfaction he had long sought—yes, this was what it felt like to rely on his father's reputation!

With my father's name, I am as radiant as the sun, and the world's powerful figures bow before me!

"Y-Yes, I'm scared. Who wouldn't be afraid of young master Qin?" the gatekeeper laughed nervously, trying to placate him.

"Since you're scared, go report to your master! I'm here to challenge Chu Zhongtian. Tell him to come out and fight me!" Qin Zhi ordered boldly.

"Yes, yes, I'll go right away." The gatekeeper quickly nodded, scurrying inside the Chu family's complex, disappearing into the maze-like corridors beyond the gate.

Qin Zhi stood at the entrance, gazing through the now half-open gate. Inside, the Chu family estate was like another world, filled with pavilions, towers, mountains, and lakes. It was larger than most cities.

After a short while, the gate fully opened with a heavy rumble, and an overwhelming aura surged out like a tidal wave.

"Whoosh!"

A large group of people emerged in two orderly rows, all Saints of the Highest Heaven, seemingly clearing a path.

Finally, Qin Zhi saw a handsome young man dressed in luxurious robes stepping forward. A radiant halo surrounded him, flickering with each step.

"You want to challenge my brother?" the young man asked, looking down at Qin Zhi with disdain.

"And who are you?" Qin Zhi frowned.

"Heh, Chu Zhongtian is my brother. Who do you think I am?" The handsome youth sneered, as if mocking Qin Zhi for his ignorance.

"I know Chu Zhongtian is your brother. So… who are you?" Qin Zhi asked, genuinely puzzled.

"What?!"

The young man's sneer froze on his face. He glared at Qin Zhi, only to realize the confusion in his eyes was genuine—he really didn't know who he was.

In that instant, a wave of shame and embarrassment hit the young man—this was Chu Tianze, Chu Zhongtian's younger brother and the second genius of the Chu family. He considered himself a significant figure in the Eastern Domain.

Yet this person didn't even know him.

What a disgrace!

Fury surged within him, but he couldn't express it directly. After all, if word got out that he became enraged just because someone didn't know who he was, it would only humiliate him further. So instead, he channeled his anger into hostility.

"Heh, if you don't know who I am, I see no need to explain. After all, to a frog in a well, no matter how much you say, it won't understand how vast the sky is," Chu Tianze sneered condescendingly. "But let me make one thing clear—you're not qualified to challenge my brother."

"So after making a fool of yourself, why don't you scurry back to hide behind that so-called 'first under the emperor' father of yours?"

Hearing this, Qin Zhi was furious.

Calling him a frog in a well? Telling him to scram?

And on top of that, speaking so disdainfully of his father?

Unforgivable!

The first two insults he could bear, but the last one—never! No one could insult his father in front of him unless they had a death wish!

"Heh, you say I hide behind my father, but aren't you hiding behind the Chu family and your brother?" Qin Zhi shot back with a cold smile. "At least I come out and face the world now and then. You, on the other hand, hide so thoroughly behind your brother that I didn't even know who you were."

"Leaning on such a powerful family like the Chu clan, yet remaining utterly unknown—who's the real joke here, don't you think?"

"And for you to introduce yourself as Chu Zhongtian's younger brother just proves that without him, you're nothing!"

"You're nothing but a parasite! It's one thing to not be ashamed of that, but to have the audacity to bark at me like a dog—well, I've never met anyone as shameless as you!"

His words were sharp, cutting like lightning!

Chu Tianze froze, his face turning crimson as veins bulged on his forehead. His hand trembled as he pointed at Qin Zhi, his breathing becoming erratic. "You… you…!"

Suddenly, he spat out a mouthful of blood.

"Second young master!"

The surrounding retainers quickly rushed to support him.

But Chu Tianze pushed them away, his eyes bloodshot and wild as he roared, "Back off! Today, I'll tear this arrogant fool limb from limb!"

He had been hit where it hurt the most.

He couldn't control his rage. It consumed him, pushing him to the brink of madness!

"Second young master, please calm down! He's Qin Chuan's son!" a Saint of the Highest Heaven warned, trying to stop him.

"Get lost! Who cares about Qin Chuan? The Lu family may fear him, but the Chu family does not!" Chu Tianze roared in fury. "Today, I will kill this brat. I want to see if that overrated Qin Chuan dares cause trouble at the Chu family's doorstep!"
