Chapter 454: Chapter 454: The Little Kitty Won’t Listen to That
Dana's report included recommendations for updating the Sisterhood's weaponry. She hoped Shuri could develop a weapon similar to the chainsword by replicating its mechanisms, making it effective against heavily armored targets. Vibranium was indeed powerful, but until Stark's research yielded further breakthroughs, vibranium swords still relied heavily on the strength of the artificial humans and their powered armor.
During their previous missions, the Sisterhood had encountered difficulties when using vibranium swords against armored vehicles. The artificial humans urgently needed weapons capable of cutting through armor plating, along with portable explosives of sufficient power.
Solomon signed off on the research funding without hesitation. Stephanie, after skimming the document, also approved the plan, knowing that Solomon's next strategic move would take place in one of the world's most war-torn regions—where such weapons would prove invaluable.
The U.S. military may have lacked backbone, but as long as they still had armored divisions, they would resist. Stephanie had already calculated the estimated funds and equipment necessary for the next phase of their strategy. At present, the production capacity of the Immortal City was insufficient, the Mars Foundry project still had numerous preliminary studies to complete, and even with the Malik family's financial backing, it wasn't enough to sustain Solomon's planned guerrilla warfare in the Middle East.
However, Solomon had already drafted an investment plan. His strategy included investing in high-tech industries—such as Roxxon Corporation—and even taking advantage of the cryptocurrency crash to buy in at rock-bottom prices, positioning himself as a market manipulator. It was a blatant move to reap profits from the American economy.
Guerrilla warfare was far less costly than a full-scale war, and the follow-up operations Solomon planned in the region weren't just about securing control; they could also generate revenue to sustain the conflict. He wasn't planning to go in blindly—setting up a puppet regime to attract foreign infrastructure investments was an obvious and practical step.
Even if this was just an experiment, both Solomon and Stephanie were rigorously preparing for every potential obstacle.
The most critical challenge was religion. Solomon's stance was absolute—eradicate all religious institutions, burn all religious texts, and convert all places of worship into schools. All children would be forcibly gathered for education, while adults would receive instruction alongside their labor. His approach was far from gentle. The land had been ravaged by various factions for too long; drastic measures were the only viable solution.
Even if Stark confronted him, demanding an explanation, Solomon could use Dr. Yinsen's homeland as an example. He would make the billionaire, who had been indoctrinated by "freedom, democracy, and human rights" narratives, see the truth—that no matter how powerful his Iron Man suit was, individual heroism could not save the world. Financial aid wouldn't work. Armed intervention was futile. The only way to fulfill Dr. Yinsen's dying wish was to fundamentally transform the land itself.
As for being accused of "authoritarianism" and "tyranny," Solomon couldn't care less. How much worse could things get? He had the power to overturn the table if necessary.
Stephanie, after some initial resistance, ultimately agreed with the plan. With a headache, she went off to draft the logistics—she had too much work on her plate. If not for the magical potions Solomon had given her, she, as a mere mortal, wouldn't have been able to handle such an overwhelming workload.
She was arguably the busiest person in the Immortal City.
Meanwhile, the magus suggested in his report to Shuri that she miniaturize Wakanda's energy shields for integration into the Sisterhood's powered armor. This would allow the armor's defense to rely on more than just titanium alloy plating and vibranium shock-absorption systems.
Solomon, who had been freely assigning tasks left and right, felt no guilt whatsoever. He never forced anyone to work overtime. He also didn't blindly place faith in vibranium's defensive capabilities—there were plenty of forces in this world capable of bypassing vibranium armor to harm its wearer. Many forms of magic didn't directly target the body but instead affected the environment or the mind, something vibranium could not counteract.
How did Solomon know this?
Because he had personally watched T'Challa slip and fall on a magically greased floor.

The Cheshire Cat leaped onto the desk and curiously sniffed the black object in front of it.
Not food, the Cheshire Cat thought. It smelled like the glowing box.
Every day, it watched its owner interact with the fascinating glowing box—a box that contained countless people and animals. More importantly, it displayed many adorable little cats. The Cheshire Cat loved to nap on the warm, glowing box. Even though its owner disliked this habit, the independent-minded feline couldn't be bothered to listen.
Raising its head, the Cheshire Cat glanced at its owner, who was busy among a tangle of multicolored wires and small green and black cylinders, white smoke occasionally sizzling from his hands. The cat had no idea what its owner was doing, but it had sniffed all the items on the desk and confirmed that none of them were food. Bored, it wandered between the scattered objects until it noticed a small black box beside the table.
After another quick glance at its owner—who was still preoccupied—the Cheshire Cat silently extended a round, fluffy paw toward the mysterious black box, trying to push it off the table.
"Shit! Cheshire!"
Solomon jumped from his chair, shaking his hand frantically. An electric shock had numbed his fingers.
The magus was on the verge of losing his mind, while the Cheshire Cat, as always, looked innocent, as if it had no idea what had just happened.
That was Jane Foster's latest observation device, designed to accurately detect the signals preceding the formation of an Einstein-Rosen bridge. Solomon had been assembling one of its components. The full device required a high-power generator, so for now, he had been using a car battery as a temporary power source.
"Why the hell did you touch the switch?!"
Solomon grabbed the cat by the scruff of its neck and lifted it to eye level, but the Cheshire Cat simply tilted its head back, feigning ignorance.
"Get lost, get lost!"
With a sigh, Solomon dropped the mischievous familiar onto the floor.
Dana, holding a soldering iron, silently observed the scene. When the Cheshire Cat attempted to rub affectionately against her, she averted her gaze, pretending not to notice the feline's antics. Realizing that its charms had failed, the Cheshire Cat meowed in protest before strutting out of the study with its head held high, completely unconcerned about its dinner.
A short while later, Bayonetta walked in, carrying the Cheshire Cat in her arms. The witch paid no heed to the cat's grievances, letting the chubby feline burrow into her embrace.
She wasn't here to argue with Solomon—she had come to discuss his upcoming birthday banquet. The hotel had sent over a menu for the guests to choose from. Bayonetta and Jeanne had already picked their preferred dishes, and now it was Solomon's turn to make his selections. Since they needed to consider dietary restrictions, the witches weren't sure what the Kamar-Taj sorcerers liked or disliked.
"Don't worry. When dining out, they don't follow strict dietary rules. Vegetarianism is more about bodily purification and testing one's willpower. Once a sorcerer reaches a certain level of cultivation, they can eat whatever they like—it's not a big deal."
"Meow!"
"The Cheshire Cat says it wants tuna," Bayonetta said with a smile. "I think we should set an extra seat. Oh, and I've already picked out the estate—when are you planning to pay for it?"
