Lucian turned to the Resonators beside him and said, "I have a plan."

Everyone looked over at him.

"Rover, Yangyang, you know about one of my terminal's functions, right?"

Rover: "You mean…"

Lucian nodded. "Exactly. I'm going to subdue all of them!"

Taoqi: "What do you mean?"

Rover explained Lucian's terminal function to the others.

Taoqi exclaimed in amazement, "That incredible!"

"In that case, we'll leave the final blows to you."

The battle was imminent. The war horns blared, dyeing the sky blood-red.

The Midnight Rangers gripped their weapons tightly, their eyes filled with determination.

Taoqi gave the order: "For Jinzhou—hold the line!"

The Midnight Rangers surged forward like a relentless tide, charging fearlessly toward the Tacet Discords.

They wielded an array of weapons, clashing fiercely against the Tacet Discords' razor-sharp claws. Each impact erupted with deafening force.

Lucian led the charge at the forefront, his blade flashing like lightning across the night sky. Every swing struck true, reducing a Tacet Discord into golden Reverberations.

Meanwhile, the terminal on his back silently absorbed these golden Reverberations.

The Midnight Rangers followed closely behind, giving their all to assist Lucian in harvesting the Tacet Discords.

Working in tight coordination, their blades were soon stained crimson, their uniforms splattered with fresh blood.

Time passed minute by minute. The sky and sea turned scarlet, and the bright full moon above grew increasingly hazy.

Through their united efforts, they finally managed to repel the overwhelming tide of Tacet Discords.

Taoqi panted heavily. "Hah… finally…"

A rescued soldier cried out in relief, "We're saved! Thank you!"

Taoqi: "This place is dangerous. Let's withdraw quickly."

Chixia also let out a sigh of relief. "This… should be the end of it, right?"

"Rover, Lucian, your skills are as sharp as ever. So many Tacet Discords, yet you handled them effortlessly."

Rover: "Just a matter of practice."

Lucian checked his terminal—it had absorbed nearly a hundred Echoes.

At this point, Lucian could practically be considered a one-man army!

From now on, in large-scale battles like this, he wouldn't even need to lift a finger. He could just sit back and be a happy commander.

Rover: "How is it?"

Lucian gave a slight nod. "No problems here."

[Option 1 completed. Reward obtained: Blood Saber Technique leveled up by one.]

[Option 2 completed. Reward obtained: Great Sage's Cloak.]

[Item: 'Great Sage's Cloak' – All Echoes subdued by you are automatically equipped with a red cloak, significantly boosting their combat power.]

Yangyang gazed at the full moon. "Do you see it…?"

Rover: "The moon is getting fainter."

Taoqi recalled, "The moon right now… looks almost exactly like it did three years ago during the 'Battle of the Crescent Blade.'"

"I fear Jinzhou doesn't have much time left."

No sooner had she spoken than Taoqi's terminal chimed, projecting Jinhsi's hologram.

Jinhsi: "How goes the battle?"

Taoqi: "Reporting, Magistrate—the barrier has been fully repaired, all civilians have returned to the city, and damage has been minimized."

Jinhsi gave a slight nod. "Good work."

Lucian grinned and waved. "Hey hey hey!"

Jinhsi's lips curled slightly. "Long time no see, Lucian, Rover."

Rover: "Has everything been going smoothly?"

Jinhsi: "Progress has been acceptable. Given the current situation, I've already prepared countermeasures in advance."

Rover asked, "Was it Jué's guidance?"

Jinhsi: "Jinzhou is in critical danger. As Magistrate, I cannot always rely on Jué's power. This is my decision—and my duty."

"Earlier, when I visited the Grand Library, I secured tangible aid for Jinzhou. The Engineers and several researchers should already be in position."

Jinhsi turned to Rover. "Rover, do you remember the message Jué left for you?"

"'The Retroact Rain has already fallen. The General now stands at the frontlines of Norfall Barrens, preparing to launch a final assault against the Threnodian, 'Crownless.'"

"This must be the 'final moment' Jué spoke of."

"Rover, this mission is perilous. You may… have to face the Threnodian head-on."

Rover nodded slightly. "I'm willing to help Jinzhou."

Throughout her journey, Rover had clearly sensed Jinzhou's goodwill toward her. Moreover, her identity was undeniably intertwined with Jinzhou's fate. Thus, she decided to assist in the fight against the Threnodian.

Jinhsi smiled. "On behalf of Jinzhou, I sincerely thank you, Rover."

"After this battle, no matter the outcome, you will be remembered as a hero who helped Jinzhou repel its enemies."

"Oh, and please take my intelligence officer, Lucian, with you. I trust his abilities will serve as your support."

Rover and Lucian looked at each other and nodded. There was no need to explain the tacit understanding between them.

Jinhsi offered her blessings: "Rover, Lucian—may you traverse the long night and return victorious."

The holographic projection flickered, and the communication cut off.

Taoqi said, "Rover, Lucian, I've already informed all checkpoints of your imminent departure to the frontlines. You may now move freely throughout Jinzhou's territory."

She then turned to Yangyang. "Yangyang, as a member of the Outriders, I entrust you to accompany them as well."

Yangyang gave a slight nod, voicing no objections.

Taoqi continued, "To reach the Desorock Highland barracks, you'll need to cross a Tacet Field. The journey is perilous—please exercise caution."

Chixia chimed in, "I'll fulfill my duties as a patroller and protect Jinzhou City until you all return safely!"

Lucian smirked. "Do your best, Ma Xiaofang!"

Chixia's cheeks flushed pink. "Ugh! Don't call me that in public… Fine, considering the circumstances, I'll let it slide this time."

Taoqi took a deep breath. "It seems this rain won't let up anytime soon."

Yangyang voiced her concern. "What about Jinzhou City…?"

Chixia thumped her chest confidently. "Don't worry—we've got this!"

Yuanwu added firmly, "Indeed. I'll stand guard."

The adorable Verina raised her hand. "M-Me too!"

The soldiers echoed in unison: "And us!"

Taoqi smiled reassuringly at Yangyang. "You see? Everyone in Jinzhou is right here."

Chixia nudged Yangyang. "Go on, you can leave without worries!"

Finally, Taoqi gave her last instruction: "I've also informed General Jiyan of your departure. He'll rendezvous with you as soon as possible."

"May you traverse the long night and return victorious!"
