Silent Awakening: Sign-In To Destiny

Chapter 17: Chapter 17: Foundations of steel

Asher sat at his long mahogany dining table, his bare feet swinging beneath the seat as a quiet hum of contentment escaped him. The early light filtered in through the vast windows of the estate, painting his plate of warm toast and eggs in soft golden hues. He chewed slowly, not out of fatigue but thoughtfulness.

The armor was nearly finished.

Not some childish idea of plate and leather, but the first of what would become his own line of defensive constructs—engineered suits built for function, durability, and concealment. Compact, sleek, scalable.

He grinned, swallowing the last bite of egg."Perfect timing."

"System, show my abilities and knowledge." Asher said.

He pushed the projected menu aside and glanced at the far wall—a solid slab of matte silver. Behind it lay his true workshop, accessible only by a biometric lock he himself had programmed.

Later that day, the rhythmic clink of tools echoed in the workshop as Asher adjusted the calibration node near the spine of the suit. The frame was compact: sleek chest plating layered with flexible nano-fibres; arm joints cushioned with shock-dampeners; hidden pulse-thread sensors running through the material to react to incoming pressure.

He activated the test display.

> [Prototype Suit: Phase I - "Wraith"] Material: Nanomesh + Kinetic-Tension Alloy

Attributes:

> – Blunt Force Resistance: 72%

> – Heat Resistance: 43%

> – Blade Shear Resistance: 61%

> – Adaptive Conformity: 89%

> – Noise Signature: Minimal

"Not bad for a first." He crossed his arms, tapping his foot against the floor.

"System, what do you think?"

> [Wraith prototype exceeds expected parameters for solo fabrication. Recommended: increase internal mesh density for improved puncture control. Overall functionality: 7.9/10.]

"High praise from you," Asher muttered, smirking.

[Alert! Found that the title The Architect has been upgraded to The Blacksmith.

The Blacksmith:

Your title has been upgraded because of your first armor. The abilities of this title are given below:

1. Any item that you create will get a bonus of 20℅ to its attributes.

2. Any item that you create will be automatically raised by one level in its quality.

3. Any item that you create will be unbreakable.]

At this Asher said:" Oh, now that's going to be very helpful in the future."

He continued testing, checking for stress fractures and programming the biometric lock. Hours passed like minutes. The lights above cast long, methodical shadows across the floor.

Eventually, Asher stepped out into the main hallway where his parents had just arrived home. Kieran Raven, ever formal, removed his coat while Seraphina, graceful and sharp-eyed, approached her son with a curious smile.

"You've been busy lately," she said.Asher nodded. "I wanted to show you both something."

They followed him to the vault-like door. The room beyond was stark, brightly lit, alive with machinery and prototypes.

Seraphina stepped forward first, eyes widening at the neatly arranged blueprints and gleaming components. Lucien simply stared at the half-complete suit mounted on the central display.

"What is this?" Kieran asked finally.

"A suit," Asher said. "A defensive armor prototype. Fully passive. Built for endurance and stealth. I made it myself."

Neither of his parents spoke right away. Then, Seraphina knelt beside him. "You built this... alone?"

"With help from the knowledge I got after going to the library all these years." Asher said.

Kieran said:" How? I don't remember there being any books on making armors."

Kieran then ran a hand over the outer shell. "This is... military-grade, Asher."

He smiled faintly. "No. It's *me*-grade."

And for the first time in months, both parents stood silently beside their son—not as superiors or protectors, but as equals trying to understand the depths of the boy they were raising.
