Chapter 25: Chapter -25 A Risky Move.

Chapter -25.

Only three days left?

Ye Chen stared at Bibi Dong, his brow knit with worry as the individuals below were anything but ordinary. To qualify for the advanced class, they needed to not only meet certain soul power standards, but their martial souls had to be among the very elite—far surpassing those of the formidable opponents he had faced before.

This group of individuals represented some of the most talented and capable souls on the entire Douluo Continent, even at their current levels.

It was essentially a battle of geniuses, yet Ye Chen, sitting at only level 40, found himself at a significant disadvantage.

That's when he glanced at Hu Liena, standing nearby. A surge of anger welled up in him; she was his partner, yet now she was being manipulated as part of Bibi Dong's plan.

"I cannot lose, even if it's just for Na'er!"

With newfound resolve, Ye Chen called out to the unyielding Bibi Dong, "Master, could we have a moment alone, please?"

Without a second thought, Bibi Dong waved her scepter and replied coolly, "The marriage agreement remains unchanged. If you have more to say, then you can come with me."

She then strode into the courtyard, and Ye Chen didn't hesitate to follow closely behind.

But just as he made his move, Hu Liena's gentle voice called out, "This decision was made by the Master after she learned about us. Please don't act rashly or upset her." Realizing she might have said too much, her tone softened.

As the door shut behind them, those watching outside turned their eager gazes toward Hu Liena; after all, who wouldn't want to marry the Holy Maiden of the Spirit Hall, the Pope's beloved disciple?

Securing Hu Liena would elevate one's status within the Spirit Hall. For many, it meant potentially becoming an Elder in the Pope's Hall once they reached level 60 and attained the rank of Soul Emperor.

That was a dream job, something many could only aspire to.

In the Spirit Hall, Elders typically had to be at least Soul Douluos, yet the esteemed Holy Maiden Hu Liena could bring immense prestige to any suitor.

Among the onlookers, a red-haired man was particularly enthusiastic, practically bouncing on his feet, eager to seize this chance.

"Yan, you really have to make your move! You've been pursuing my sister for ages, and now your opportunity is finally here. If you let it slip away again..."

Xie Yue stood with his arms folded, watching Yan with keen interest. As Hu Liena's brother, he naturally hoped for his sister to marry someone strong—not someone beneath him. The Pope had declared that whoever would marry his sister would need to be the best of the younger generation, which thrilled him.

"Brother Xie Yue, I'm feeling a bit uncertain."

Even though he deeply desired Hu Liena's affection, there were many in the advanced class who were stronger. Lacking power meant that Yan wouldn't stand a chance.

Seeing his hesitation, Xie Yue chose to remain silent. He had no time for weakness; only strength could command his respect.

Inside the small courtyard, Bibi Dong stood firmly in the hall, her gaze locked on Ye Chen. "Speak, what do you want to discuss? You have one minute."

"Master, isn't one minute a bit short? There's so much I want to tell you."

"You have 56 seconds left!"

Bibi Dong watched as Ye Chen approached, her lips curling into a slight smirk of disdain. She sensed his intentions but felt secure in her power, knowing that even if he attacked without warning, he wouldn't stand a chance of harming her.

What an audacious young man. If he weren't so useful, she might have let him go long ago.

With that in mind, Bibi Dong stowed her scepter and concealed her soul power, curious about Ye Chen's true motives. "Still 55 seconds remaining? Then I guess I'll just have to talk more, Master."

Ye Chen took another step forward, closing the distance to less than a meter—close enough to almost touch her for his task.

Yet he knew he needed to tread carefully, aware of the vast gap in soul power between them.

Step by step, he advanced cautiously.

Soon, he found himself just 20 centimeters from Bibi Dong, defining a personal barrier that made even the usually composed Bibi Dong shift uncomfortably.

Just as she contemplated taking a step back, Ye Chen suddenly knelt before her and exclaimed, "Master, please help me acquire a martial spirit! I truly care for Na'er, and I cannot afford to lose this marriage contest in three days!"

His sudden plea caught Bibi Dong off guard for a moment. Eventually, a smile broke on her lips as she assured him, "Don't worry; I won't easily let go of Little Na. As long as you follow my training methods, you stand a great chance of winning this contest."

"Thank you, Master! I'll put in my best effort."

Ye Chen exclaimed, tears brimming in his bright eyes.

In response, Bibi Dong couldn't help but ponder: Am I reading too much into this? Perhaps this kid isn't as bold as I thought; he seemed to have begged for mercy once before, which is why he was brought back to the Martial Spirit Hall so smoothly.

"Master!"

Suddenly, Ye Chen dropped to both knees, arms wide open, and lunged toward the contemplative Bibi Dong.

The unexpected action sparked an outburst of rage on Bibi Dong's face, and instinctively she reacted to the sharp pain flooding through her lower back when he embraced her. In that instant, her soul power erupted dramatically.

"Boom!"

A massive surge of energy burst forth from Bibi Dong, obliterating the small advanced class courtyard as if it were made of paper. When Hu Liena, Xie Yue, and the others sensed the disturbance, they bolted outside, but were hurled away hundreds of meters by the shockwave, losing consciousness on impact.

Yet, miraculously, Ye Chen, caught at the center of it all, remained unscathed.

However, the look in Bibi Dong's eyes made him feel trapped in an endless void, unable to escape.

Thankfully, the system's notification of his successful check-in echoed in his mind, giving him hope that Bibi Dong wouldn't go so far as to take his life. Probably.

He still felt a twinge of unease, for Bibi Dong's gaze was chilling, so frozen it robbed him of any desire to fight back.

The two remained locked in silence for a long spell until Bibi Dong finally shattered the tension: "You shouldn't have touched me. You nearly met your end just now."

A look of complexity crossed her face, which made Ye Chen feel a pang of regret. He recalled the difficult history of this strong yet tender woman; perhaps he ought to have approached her differently.

"Tonight at midnight, I will be waiting for you in the Pope's Hall."

Her subtle shift in language was noticeable to Ye Chen. After a moment of shock, he finally managed to say, "I'm so sorry."

Note : Guys, some power stones will be really helpful.
