Shidai: The God Of Everything

Chapter 2: The Reckoning

The city trembled under the weight of Shidai's presence, an electric charge running through the very air itself. It was as if reality itself had taken a pause, holding its breath, unsure whether it could handle what was coming next. The moon hung low in the sky, casting an eerie glow on the cracked streets below, while distant echoes of sirens and cars became a mere hum in the backdrop of what was about to unfold. The world had no idea, but it was on the edge of collapse.

Shidai stood in the open space where his room had been moments before. The door had exploded outward, disintegrated by his will, as he stepped into the night. His eyes, burning with the energy of creation itself, scanned the world around him. His fingers curled slightly, and the atmosphere seemed to bend and ripple at his command. He was more than the city. More than the earth beneath his feet. He was everything. And everything was his to control.

A gust of wind howled through the streets, as if the world itself was bracing for what was to come. But Shidai was unbothered by the forces of nature that tried to fight against him. He could feel it—Lucas. The faintest trace of power. The scent of betrayal lingered in the air, thick and suffocating, and it only made Shidai's smile widen.

"Lucas," Shidai's voice was barely a whisper, yet it carried with it the weight of the universe. A whisper that could break mountains, shatter skies, erase time itself. The very fabric of reality quivered in response. "You think you can challenge me?"

There was no fear in his words, only cold, unyielding power.

The night around him seemed to dim, as if the stars themselves had taken a step back, unwilling to bear witness to what was coming. But this was not for the stars to witness. This was for Lucas. The one who had once been a friend. A brother. A companion. The one who had now dared to cross the line.

Shidai could feel the presence of Lucas now, drawing near. He could feel the power within him, the stolen fragments of Shidai's own essence. The arrogance. The blind ambition. Lucas was still trying to be something he was not—something he could never be. But Shidai would show him. Show him exactly what it meant to face someone like him.

The ground beneath Shidai's feet shifted, and the air thickened. He didn't need to move. He didn't need to raise a hand. Lucas was the one who needed to make the first move. And when he did, Shidai would show him the futility of it all.

Suddenly, the wind picked up, swirling with unnatural force. The energy around them spiked. A crack of thunder echoed through the skies, announcing the arrival of Lucas.

Shidai tilted his head, his eyes narrowing in anticipation.

Lucas stepped forward, his aura blazing with stolen power. He was still wearing that smug, overconfident expression, as if the world had given him everything he needed to defeat Shidai. But what Lucas didn't understand, what he could never understand, was that power was not something you could take. It wasn't something you could steal.

Power was something you were born with. Something you commanded. Something that bent to your will. And Lucas? He was a shadow trying to play in the light of a god.

"Shidai," Lucas said, his voice filled with an edge of desperation. "You were always too afraid to let go. But now, now I have what you've kept hidden. Your power. Your true power. I will take it from you, and I will be the one who stands at the top of everything."

Shidai's laugh was low, a rumble deep within his chest that shook the air. It wasn't just laughter—it was the sound of worlds shattering. It was the sound of stars collapsing. It was the sound of everything Lucas believed in falling apart.

"You think you understand power, Lucas?" Shidai's voice was like the snapping of a thousand thunderclaps. "You don't even know what it means. What it feels like. You're not worthy of it."

Without warning, Lucas lunged. The air crackled as he unleashed a surge of energy, a violent explosion of raw power aimed directly at Shidai's chest. But Shidai didn't move. He didn't need to. With a mere flick of his wrist, the attack stopped midair. It froze. The energy shuddered, trembling against Shidai's will, before it exploded into nothingness.

Lucas stood frozen, his eyes wide with disbelief. His chest heaved with effort as he tried to muster more power, but Shidai had already shown him the truth.

"You're nothing," Shidai said again, the words cutting through the night air like a blade. "You can't even touch me. You never could. And you never will."

Shidai took a step forward, and with it, the world seemed to shudder. The ground cracked open beneath their feet, and the sky overhead darkened, swirling with storm clouds that swirled violently at Shidai's command. His power was no longer contained—it was the world. It was the air. It was the very force that held everything together.

"You wanted my power?" Shidai's eyes burned like twin suns. "You thought you could challenge me? Let me show you what happens when you try."

With a flick of his finger, the air around Lucas warped, bending and twisting in ways that defied logic. Lucas gasped, his hands rising to his throat as he choked on the weight of Shidai's presence. The energy around him pulsed, suffocating him, until he could barely breathe.

Shidai's eyes glinted with cold amusement as he watched Lucas struggle. "You should've known better," he whispered. "No one, not even you, can stand against me."

Lucas's body trembled as Shidai's energy crushed him, pushing him to his knees. He could barely keep his eyes open, the weight of Shidai's power suffocating him. His hands reached out weakly, as though begging for mercy, but Shidai was beyond mercy. Mercy was for the weak. And Lucas was weak.

"Is this what you wanted, Lucas?" Shidai asked, his voice the calm amidst the chaos. "To feel this? To feel powerless? To feel like nothing?"

Lucas's eyes flickered, the light in them dimming. He couldn't respond. He couldn't even move.

Shidai's smile widened, a cruel, predatory smile. "This is the price of ambition. This is the price of betraying me."

But just before Shidai could finish, Lucas managed to force out one final breath. "I... won't give up..."

Shidai looked down at him, his expression unreadable. "You will," he said quietly. "Because you have no choice."

And with that, Shidai raised his hand. The world around them stilled. Lucas's body began to disintegrate, turning to dust in the wind. He was gone, erased from existence, his stolen power crumbling to nothingness.

For a moment, there was silence.

But that silence was only temporary.

Shidai turned his gaze to the horizon. The storm had passed, but the world had been irrevocably changed. The balance had shifted, and now, he was the sole force in this reality. Nothing could touch him. Not time, not the world, not even death itself.

He was Shidai. He was everything.

And the universe? It was his to shape.

The reckoning had only just begun.
