Chapter 104: The Leap of the Hunters
The scene was set under the gentle hum of anticipation as Shiki, the head of the God Hunter family, stood tall before the teleportation pillars. His golden robes fluttered slightly in the breeze, and his ever-present playful grin betrayed no hint of the monumental task at hand.
"Alright," Shiki began, pacing in front of the group. "Seiji, you'll be fine. You've got the marks of a god, after all. But for the rest of you… well, let's just say I'm not entirely sure your bodies are strong enough to withstand the teleportation force."
His words hung heavy in the air. Jin furrowed his brows, unsure of what lay ahead, while Madagascar shifted uncomfortably.
Pa, perched on Madagascar's shoulder, piped up, "Don't worry about him, Shiki. Madagascar's got a little trick up his sleeve. There's a technique he's been working on—it's not perfect, but it'll get him through."
Shiki raised an eyebrow. "A half-baked technique, huh? Well, sounds like my kind of fun! But just in case," he continued, clapping his hands together, "I'll call for some backup."
With a loud whistle, two figures appeared from the shadows. They were Boro and Taneki, two members of the family known for their unparalleled healing abilities. Boro, a calm and composed figure with soft silver hair, bowed respectfully. Taneki, with a mischievous glint in her eye, leaned casually against one of the pillars, twirling a small vial of glowing liquid in her fingers.
"They'll help stabilize your bodies during the teleportation," Shiki said. "Trust me, you'll need it."
The team stood in the center of the pillars, the ancient runes glowing faintly beneath their feet. Shiki stepped forward with a ceremonial jar of golden oil, dipping his fingers into it. With practiced ease, he traced a cross on the forehead of each participant, muttering ancient words under his breath. The atmosphere grew heavier, and the wind began to pick up.
"Alright," Shiki said, stepping back and cracking his knuckles. "Now for the fun part."
The group expected a simple ritual, but instead, Shiki began moving his arms in elaborate motions. His hands swayed left and right, up and down, as if dancing to a rhythm only he could hear. He twirled, clapped, and even threw in a dramatic pirouette for good measure.
"Through the heavens and the earth," Shiki chanted, his voice booming. "I, Shiki, the Golden Father and Prince of the Most Treasured Family, invoke the spirits to aid this host as they pass through!"
Mengi leaned over to Seiji, whispering, "Does he always do this?"
Seiji sighed, rubbing his temples. "No. He's just trying to look cool."
"Papa," Seiji called out, raising a hand. "Can we, uh, skip the theatrics?"
Shiki stopped mid-spin, turning to his son with a mock look of hurt. "Skip the theatrics? And ruin my moment? How did you even like my intro?"
Arya, standing nearby, crossed her arms. "Father, move them already!"
Shiki straightened up, smoothing his robes with exaggerated dignity. "Fine, fine. You kids have no appreciation for showmanship."
Suddenly, the playful atmosphere shattered as Shiki released his energy. The ground cracked beneath his feet, and the air itself seemed to ripple with power. A gale-force wind whipped through the area, nearly knocking everyone off balance. His presence became overwhelming, like a god descending upon the mortal plane.
Jin's eyes widened in disbelief. "Is this the same guy that was joking around a second ago?"
Madagascar nodded slowly, awe etched on his face. "He's… so strong."
Shiki raised his hands, his voice booming. "Voodoo Style: Frican Teleportation!"
A bolt of lightning tore through the sky, striking the two pillars. Energy surged between them, creating a swirling vortex of light. The runes glowed brighter as the teleportation mechanism roared to life.
"Madagascar," Pa said, his voice firm. "Now."
Madagascar's body began to shift, his form twisting unnaturally. His skin stretched and bent, his entire being becoming elastic and rubber-like. He stood tall, his transformed body shimmering faintly in the vortex's glow.
The group stepped into the center, the air around them crackling with energy. Boro and Taneki moved swiftly, their hands glowing as they stabilized Jin and Mengi, ensuring they wouldn't succumb to the immense pressure. In a flash of blinding light, they vanished.
As the vortex quieted, the sky above the God Hunter settlement darkened ominously. Far away, the Shadow Council convened, seated in their grand chamber earlier. Each member radiated their unique aura, their gazes locked on Jiangshi, who descended slowly to take his seat.
"I have a mission for you," Jiangshi said, his voice calm but commanding. "We need to harness the energy of those who have bypassed human limits. Their energy is far more potent than the average human's and will accelerate our progress."
Greyjoy leaned forward, his fiery eyes narrowing. "And where do we begin?"
Jiangshi smirked. "With Shiki, the Golden Father. His power will be the perfect start."
As the council deliberated, a sudden pressure rippled through the chamber. Each member clutched their chest in pain, save for Jiangshi. Theon, grimacing, looked at him. "This doesn't stop."
Jiangshi rose, ascending into the void above. "That is why we must act fast."
Back at the God Hunter settlement, the sky tore open, and lightning struck the earth. Lei Gong, the God of Thunder, descended, his body crackling with raw energy. Shiki immediately sensed his presence, his playful demeanor vanishing as he turned to Arya.
"Arya," Shiki said, his tone uncharacteristically serious. "Go pack your things. Take what you need and head to the Free World."
Arya hesitated. "Father, what do you mean?"
Shiki's gaze turned to the sky, his eyes narrowing at the sight of Lei Gong. "This place is about to be destroyed."
Arya followed his gaze, her breath catching as she saw the embodiment of lightning floating above their home. Lei Gong's presence was overwhelming, his glowing eyes scanning the settlement below.
