Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Saying Goodbye
Zoro practiced Observation Haki as he first tried walking around with Douglas' mask. He was struggling extremely, as he would trip on the debris that was on the shoreline. Douglas was just looking at the castle, as he felt that Wapol and his guards were going to attack there. But Douglas was really not worried—with Luffy and Sanji there, they could defeat them pretty easily. And since Ace was also there, maybe Wapol and his guards would die here.
Then the confrontation happened. Luffy, Ace, and Sanji confronted Wapol and his guards, whose presence was not strong. Douglas didn't care about Wapol and his guards, so he just watched. After a few minutes of fighting, they were defeated and punched away by Luffy and Ace. It was surprising that they did not kill them.
'Soft-hearted brothers without thinking of consequences,' Douglas thought, as he then started leading Zoro toward the town to meet with the others. When the civilians saw Zoro, they thought that he was the one who saved them before, but this thought stopped when they saw Zoro trip over nothing.

Meanwhile, in the castle, Nami and Chopper were in the room, waiting for the fighting to stop. Chopper wanted to stay by Nami's side, as he thought about protecting her, just like how Douglas protected him from the humans who wanted to hurt him.
"Are you feeling alright now?" Chopper asked Nami, since he hadn't had a chance to consult his patient earlier. Nami had surprised him, and then their enemies attacked them.
"Yes. Are you the doctor who saved me?" Nami replied, asking Chopper whether he was the one who treated her.
"Doctorine and I found you earlier, and Doctorine allowed me to treat you. I did my best," Chopper said to Nami with a smile on his face.
"EH? EHHHHHH?! You mean you're a doctor?" Nami, shocked by what she had just heard, couldn't help but shout as she asked Chopper, who was startled by her sudden reaction. But when she called him a doctor, he snapped out of his shock.
"Ahhh, yes! Boku wa Doctor, Tony Tony Chopper!" Chopper said to Nami, then sang his most famous song—something that was supposed to be non-canonical, but Douglas had taught him the full version. It made Chopper happy at the time, and now he always uses it to introduce himself.
"Wow, you're amazing, Chopper," Nami said after hearing the full song—it was both childish and cute.
"You think you can make me happy with your praise, jerk," Chopper replied, doing his signature dance moves. Both Nami and Chopper were talking about her condition when suddenly, Ace, Sanji, and Luffy came into the room.
"Ahhhhh, Nami! You're alright!" Sanji said, trying to hug Nami, but was met with a slap to the face.
"Ahhh, Nami, are you okay now?" Luffy also hurried to Nami, concerned for his good friend, leaving Ace alone. Ace smiled, and Chopper went over to him, curious about how Ace knew the stranger in their room.
"Ace, this is my navigator, Nami. Nami, this is my brother, Ace," Luffy said after finishing his check on Nami. He remembered to introduce Ace as his brother, something that shocked both Chopper and Nam, while Sanji was still recovering outside.
"My name is Portgas D. Ace. Thank you for taking care of my brother," Ace said, bowing politely toward Nami—something that made her blush.
"Ahhhh, no, no! Luffy takes care of us," Nami replied politely, not wanting to embarrass Luffy in front of his brother.
Ace and Luffy then began chatting, sharing stories about their recent adventures. Suddenly, Luffy noticed Chopper clinging to Ace's leg—something that made Luffy's eyes shine with excitement.
"Ahhhh! The talking tanuki!" Luffy suddenly shouted, which shocked Chopper, and they started a game of tag in the room. Luffy chased Chopper while Ace and Sanji laughed, and Nami just sighed in disappointment. After a few minutes of running, Luffy finally caught Chopper.
"Tanuki," Luffy said as he picked him up, which enraged Chopper. He transformed into his Muscle Point and slapped Luffy. This shocked Sanji and Nami, who had no idea Chopper could do this, but Ace wasn't surprised; Chopper had already shown it during the past week.
"I SAID I'M A REINDEER!" Chopper yelled angrily. Luffy, who had been slapped, recovered quickly—it didn't really hurt. He then stared at Chopper with sparkling eyes, amazed by what he had just seen.
"Ahhhh, the reindeer transformed. AWESOME!!!" Luffy yelled at Chopper. This shocked Chopper—only a few people hadn't freaked out when seeing this form. Most assumed he was a monster and attacked him. Luffy's reaction reminded Chopper of Douglas and Ace—two people who didn't fear him.
"I've decided—join my crew!" Luffy said, extending his hand toward Chopper. Sanji laughed a little—it was exactly like Luffy to say something like that. Surprisingly, there was no disapproval on Nami's face. She wanted to invite Chopper too.
"What crew?" Chopper asked curiously.
"It's friends that you adventure with. I'm Monkey D. Luffy, and I'm going to be the Pirate King!" Luffy said, introducing himself just like he always did. The mention of pirates made Chopper's eyes shine—he had always wanted to be a pirate, something both he and Douglas dreamed of. But suddenly, Chopper remembered someone important, someone he couldn't leave behind. So he answered Luffy honestly.
"I'm sorry, I can't join you. I promised my friend that I would come with him when he started adventuring," Chopper said, rejecting Luffy's offer, thinking Douglas might not want to join them.
"Ohhh, then let's invite him too," Luffy said without hesitation.

Meanwhile, Zoro and Douglas arrived at the house of Dalton, but surprisingly, he was outside of the house. He was accompanied by two persons that Douglas recognized immediately, being Go D. Usopp and Princess Nefertari Vivi. Usopp's nose was the one that caught Douglas's attention the most, as he was thinking that Usopp might have a connection with the Tontatta Tribe, as his mother was theorized to be a hybrid of Tontatta and Giants.
While Douglas was thinking, his stare became similar to the one he gave to Ace, which terrified Vivi and Usopp, while Dalton was just looking at them with great curiosity. It did not help that Zoro was covered entirely, with the strange mask on his face.
"Dalton-san, who's that?" Vivi asked Dalton, who was also shaking from fear.
"That's the son of the Doctor I'm talking about, and the other one is someone that I don't recognize, but he is wearing similar garments to the saviour that killed the invaders of our island," Dalton answered.
"Do you think he would attack us since we are considered pirates that are outsiders?" Usopp then asked Dalton.
"I honestly don't know the answer to your question. He just appeared one day and protected our civilians, but don't worry, it seems that he won't attack you, since if he was planning to, he would've attacked you already," Dalton said, which made Usopp and Vivi breathe a little sigh of relief. They then waited for Douglas and Zoro to arrive.
"Douglas, why are you here alone? Where's Doctor Kureha?" Dalton immediately asked.
"Can we talk inside? This one is freezing," Douglas just said, which made Dalton nod. Douglas then removed the mask and the coat from Zoro, which made Vivi and Usopp sigh in relief.
"Ahhh, the light is blinding," Zoro said, as he was hit by the sudden light. Douglas took the mask immediately, which made him adjust his eyes for a second.
"Zoro, where have you been?" Usopp then asked Zoro, who was still adjusting his eyes.
"Ohhh, just somewhere," Zoro said, as he went inside the cabin to warm himself, followed by Douglas, Dalton, Usopp, and finally Vivi.
