Save & Reset

Chapter 11: Three Floors

Here's the corrected version of the text:

The first floor was a maze, but it had some special properties. One was the tricky traps that were set all over the place. Unlike a normal trap, these traps showed unexpected outcomes upon activation. I didn't have any hardship in avoiding the traps, and I tried my hardest to stay that way, since if even one of them activated, I would be dead due to my low level.

"…, left, right, left, dead end. [Reset]"

[ Skill "Save & Reset: Reset" Activated ]

[ Restarting from the Recent Checkpoint ]

Each time I reached a dead end, I needed to [Reset] since the path you took in the maze couldn't be re-walked and would be blocked. This floor was designed for high-level detection skill users, which I had none, but I could navigate it easily as long as I could restart.

The reason that I didn't memorize the maze's pattern in my past life was because I hadn't visited this dungeon unless I had a detection-based skill, and back then was the first time I visited the dungeon without it.

As I was navigating the hallways, I saw many magical patterns on the walls. The glowing blue lines on the maze's walls gave it a futuristic look. It took me a long time before I found the exit. I [Reset] again to save time, and then I climbed the stairs to go to the 2nd floor. After I entered the room, a wall blocked the path to the staircase.

Unlike the first floor, this floor was a big and spacious room with a big door in front of it. The texture of them was nothing but gray concrete. There was a button on a pillar located exactly in the middle of the room.

Click-! I pressed the button without any delay since I knew what was going to happen. Suddenly, the once gray room turned colorful, and the walls began to change their forms into cubes. Some of the cubes fell from the walls, and some just moved a little.

I looked at the room and waited for the transformation to complete, and then a red screen appeared in front of me.

I hated studying more than anything, and that was one of the main reasons why I turned into a streamer in the first place. The problem wasn't that I was stupid or something. I just couldn't find a purpose in studying and thus couldn't focus on it. I disliked math more than any of them.

There were many, I said MANY different categories in the game that required complex knowledge that a normal dropout like me didn't possess, so I always looked at others in the community and used their answers. But after I began to play [Doomed Fantasy] seriously, everything changed. I found many things in this game that no one knew, and that was a huge deal to me. My fame boomed after I showed them to my stream, and that was quite fulfilling to me.

In some of those many features that I found, there were some that needed a complex understanding that I didn't possess. I could always ask about them from many people in the community, but I wanted to be "me" who completed them, so I began to learn everything. At first, it was hard. I didn't know anything, so I had to start from the very basics. It took countless hours and days to master that complex knowledge, and in the end, I didn't regret the outcome.

Math, Geometry, Physics, and even Chemistry. I learned them all as if I were a child, and then answering the game's puzzles wasn't as hard as it used to be.

All I did was coordinate with some simple math formulas, and by pulling, pushing, and moving those cubes, I did it effortlessly. It took me less than 5 minutes to solve the puzzle.

[ The Door to the 3rd Floor has been Opened ]

I followed the staircase to the 3rd floor. I entered the room, and the door to the staircase closed down. I found myself in a big room.

Unlike the 2nd floor, this room had a lot of furniture and even carpet on the ground. The room had four sides to it: one being the closed door that I entered, a red door, and a green door. Above the closed door was a sentence lit up with a glowing brown color.

"Make something new, huh?"

The room was quite mysterious, and there wasn't any additional information regarding the dungeon quest. Thankfully, I didn't need to look for a clue to clear this room. After all, it wasn't my first time clearing it.

The room wanted the player to create a completely new potion by themselves. There was a bookshelf in the corner of the room where there wasn't any door. The bookshelf was filled with potion recipes… and those recipes were the ones considered not-new. A player needed to brew a potion that wouldn't be in any of the books, which was quite hard since nearly all of the common potion recipes were there.

I knew how to brew something completely unknown to this world, but I needed materials. The room I was in was filled with many tools for potion-making, but it lacked material.

Materials could be collected from the colorful doors in the room. The green one was for plant-based materials, and the red one was for mineral-based materials.

Before I entered any of those rooms, I browsed the bookshelf once more. Among the many books, there was a special book, which was one of the reasons why I entered this dungeon.

After I learned the skill, I opened the green door. Inside the room was a garden designed to look like a forest. I entered the room and felt the green grass under my feet instantly. Many beautiful herbs and flowers were scattered around the room and gave it a nice view… of course, if it wasn't for the fact that most of them were deadly poisons that could kill anyone with a simple touch.

There were also some hard-to-see trap wires connected to the trees and walls. The good thing was that I knew how to avoid traps and which herbs wouldn't actually kill me.

Not being level 15 and not being able to use [Appraisal] was problematic for me since there were many herbs that were similar in shape but not in action, but I didn't have any problem collecting them after all.

I returned to the main room, put the herbs in a corner, and quickly opened the red room. The red room had a mine characteristic to it, while the required ores were inside rocks and needed to be mined with the pickaxes that were in a corner. I avoided the obvious traps, mined the material, and returned to the main room.

There were many strange tools in the rooms and many cabinets with lab glassware inside them, but none of them mattered since all I needed was the cauldron located in the middle of the room.

I got closer to the cauldron with a handful of materials. I activated [Material Liquefier] and combined everything.

Hecapo Leaf, Voris Berry, Gray Carrot, Solid Slime Core, and Vibrant Cobalt were melting like butter and added to the cauldron. I was excited to see that the materials, which needed many actions before mixing together, were now liquid and mixed without any problem. I felt like a child with a newfound toy.

After everything mixed up, I spilled the contents of the cauldron on the ground, and the ground began to glow a bright yellow. I quickly opened my [Inventory] and collected the cauldron instantly, and then,
