Chapter 21: Chapter 20 - One year training begins
"I can see you want me to teach you some proper manners." The old man said as he took his combat stance.
"Then I'll have to see you try." Isshin was ready to battle with his once ruthless sensei of his. Yuta stood there eyes wide as he witnessed his sensei in real combat between the old man who will be training him for a year starting today.
The both of them moved at a constant speed which Yuta couldn't follow at first but as he focused his gaze on the fight he began to see their movement such as to read it. Isshin and his sensei exchanged blows for a while as they both leaped backwards.
"So is this the boy you told me about?" The old man said.
"Yes, that's him. But I'll say he will be able to surpass you as well as me in a short amount of time since he learns way faster than I did." Isshin explained as he leaped behind his sensei to knock him out but the old man quickly reacted and dodged to the right, leaving Isshin wide open for him to strike.
'Figure that out.' Isshin thought as his eyes followed his master's movement, making him parry the attack thrown at him.
"Let's see if the boy has some backbone." The old man whispered into Isshin ears as he leap behind Yuta in a great speed who was standing on his own watching the fight but to the old man awareness, Yuta had been told by Isshin that a surprise attack will be thrown at him so he should come up with a way for a counterattack.
'Thought so.' Was Yuta's thought as he quickly figured the old man was behind him and Isshin was far away to help as he smirked and said, "Don't underestimate me old man." Yuta surprised the old man as another Yuta emerged from the sand, landing a blow behind the old man who was caught off guard by the sudden counterattack.
"You little brat!" The old man exclaimed as he stood back to his feet. "It seems I underestimated you, brat. I hope you're prepared for the consequences of striking an elder." The old man spoke as he took the situation seriously to see the kid's potential if he is worth training or not.
"Didn't expect him to use his quirk for a counter attack, but that's amazing." Isshin muttered to himself as he ran back to Yuta's side.
"So it's two versus one, huh? Bring in on boys." The old man was enjoying himself since he hadn't battled for so long to his satisfaction.
"Yuta, you have to be careful because the old man is now fiercer than he was a minute ago. And also try not to use your quirk but set your fist ablaze." Isshin instructed his beloved student.
"Osu!" Yuta obeyed, crouching down and took his battle stance. 'Mei.'The name of his friend flashed through his mind as his aura became cold.
"1..2..Go." The old man gave the signal for the fight to begin as he charged towards Yuta and delivered a finishing blow to his abdomen but Yuta's hands quickly reflexed and blocked the hit from the old man sending him flying backwards crashing into the ground.
"Yuta!" Isshin exclaimed, turning to see if his student was okay when he felt the cold aura emitting from the old man.
"When were you so brave, turning your back to your enemy?" The old man warned Isshin, not letting go of his chance to strike a blow as he did and Isshin flew crashing down to the ground just like his student did.
"That hurts, old man." Isshin coughed looking at his hands wondering how strong that blow was if it were to hit him directly.
"Yuta! I won't be able to watch your back so get up and fight." Isshin warned him the last time, turning his gaze to the old man who stood in his position waiting for his next challenger.
"ARGHHHHH." Yuta yelled as he stood back on his feet and dashed towards the old man. The old man watched him dashed at him but decided not to underestimate him so as to not destroy the young boy's reputation.
Yuta engaged with the old man and delivered the first blow which the old man parried with his right leg.
"More of that, stupid brat." The old man was enjoying the fight since it might be the last time he experienced this feeling before his death. The elderly man chose to attack as well, forcing Yuta to defend himself fiercely, but he was still too far away to cause the elderly man to sweat.
The old man struck his left fist on the cheek of Yuta making his nose bleed but he continued to defend harder which made his fatigue rise so much as he felt down to his knees breathing heavily.
"Goodwork brat, you've done well to keep me entertained." The old man praised his effort despite the fact the boy was still growing. The old man gave him a roundhouse kick to the face, making Yuta unconscious.
"Now, it's one versus one." The old man turning his gaze to Isshin gave him goosebumps and with that, Isshin decided to not hold back anymore to his sensei who was once his martial art teacher when he was little.
"Don't disappoint me stupid student of mine." The old man removed his shirt as Isshin did so also. They charged at each other with the urge to spill out one's blood as Isshin struck his elbow to the mouth of the old man making him bleed a little from the mouth.
The old man was hit by Isshin's strikes, but he parried them all and chose to finish the fight quickly because he believed his body was nearly at its breaking point.
'I refused to lose to you, great pupil of mine.' The old man could see how talented his student was after many years of departure and with that thought, Isshin struck a decisive finishing blow to the face of the old man as he crouch down dodging the blow, leaving Isshin wide open as he struck his own decisive blow to the abdomen of his student and made him spat blood all over his body.
"Didn't think I'll lose to you, old man. How pathetic am I?" Isshin managed to speak out as his body collapsed on the floor.
"You lost to me because you didn't think you'd lose like this." The old man praised his student as he fell down to the floor unconscious.
"What a lousy man you are. Who would've thought you were this close to your limit." Isshin watched as his old man collapsed on the floor and decided to stay in his position for a little longer.
"Where am I?" Yuta woke up inside the house. Looking around, he saw the old man placing both hands on his chest.
"You probably shouldn't move right now." The old man said as he was focused on healing Yuta's wound and moved over to Isshin and did the same.
"Old man." Yuta said, feeling his body back to normal.
"You can thank me later." The old man said.
"Is that your quirk?" Yuta asked.
"Yes. My quirk is a healing type which is not made for combat." The old man remarked.
"It doesn't matter if your quirk is meant for combat or not. You just healed me and that's proof." Yuta was amazed seeing the old man's quirk. 'Then, I can train as much as I can and have the old man heal me.' Yuta found another reason to push himself past his limit.
"You guys seemed to get along." Isshin interrupted them.
"Were you awake the whole time?" Yuta was surprised.
"No, but at a moment, I eavesdropped on your conversation." Isshin said as he removed the blanket above his legs.
"Isshin, I promise to train this young student of yours within a year." The old man admitted.
"Thank you, sensei." Isshin was prepared to travel back home as soon as possible.
"Thank you Isshin. Thank you, old man. I promise to train with you for the time I'll be under your care and also, Isshin, I'm glad you agreed to my selfish request." Yuta thanked the both of them for what they did as his new training adventure begins.
"Stay safe and make sure you check on your mom." Isshin wished Yuta success on his training and waved as he exited the house.
"Go take a rest right now, brat. First thing tomorrow morning, your training begins." The old man said as he went over to his bedroom to rest..
