Runemaster in the Last Days

Chapter 522: Be Careful

Before Riya left, she called Sophia and took out a horse like magic beasts from Mo's space. She didn't have any plan to make another separate space in her world, so she put the magic beast temporarily in Mo's place.

"I don't know what the researchers planned to call this magic beast is, but this magic beast has wind and wood element. It moves fast and can protect you."

"Ah, this…."

"This is the contract scroll."

"Thank you." Sophia smiled and then infused her mana into the scroll and put it in front of the magic beast.

After some communication, the two signed the contract together.

*neigh*

Seeing the magic beast that neighed like horse and patted her hand with its head, Sophia blinked her eyes and looked at Riya with suspicion. "Are you sure that it's not a horse?"

"That's why I call it horse like magic beast." Riya shrugged. "Anyway, I'm going now. Tell me the name later."

"Ah, yes." Sophia saw that Riya had left and patted the horse like magic beasts. Well, she will just assume that this is a horse magic beast.

After that, Sophia continued her battles with the magic beasts.

Swish!

As Riya called Mo and left quickly, Samuel looked at Riya's departing back.

"You know that you can follow her if you want to, right?" Peter said from the side.

"No, I have other tasks here," Samuel replied and turned to look at Peter. He arched his eyebrows. "Why did you suddenly become so meddlesome?"

"I'm not meddling in your business." Peter rolled his eyes. "It's just kind of obvious and… it might be a good idea to have someone accompanying you considering that your lifespan will be longer than others."

Lifespan…

To be honest, Samuel hasn't even thought about this matter. Because they were so busy every single day with various things and also dealing with the magic beasts. There were no time for him to think about other things.

But Peter reminded him.

Once they started training, their lifespan would also be affected. The first three ranks would only make their bodies healthier but there was not much guarantee about extending lifespan.

But once they reached rank 4, their lifespan would continue to be extended.

Now that they were already rank 6… they could basically life until they were over 100 years old.

And after they reached rank 7, their lifespan would be able to reach 150 years and it would continue to increase with every rank they reached afterwards. There were even rumors that it was possible to live forever if they reached the highest rank.

Though, Samuel knew that it was impossible after he talked with his elders.

But in any case, he knew very well that for those magic warriors who had reached high rank, their lives would be far longer than others. Many of their peers who could not reach the same rank as them leave the world earlier.

Samuel glanced at Peter. "It's too early to think about this. You might die because of those magic beasts tomorrow."

"Don't curse me!" Peter looked at Samuel speechlessly.

"I'm just stating the fact," Samuel said calmly.

Peter: "…" he still felt that Samuel is cursing him.

But Peter didn't bother to think about it anymore and looked at the few people who were fighting in front of him. He arched his eyebrows. "They didn't seem to be that bad now… hmm, is there any higher ranked magic beasts nearby."

As Peter was looking around to find higher ranked magic beasts, Samuel looked at his siblings and his friends who were busy fighting and found that their progress seemed to be pretty good.

Swish! Slash!

Amelia was rushing forward, using the sword to attack and kill the magic beasts around her. There was a faint shield in front of her that would move from one side to another depending on where she was attacked.

Even though Amelia's mana control for other magic spells were ridiculously bad, but this kind of counterattack shield only required a very small and fixed amount of mana. The mana drawn by the shield was nothing more than the mana used to counter the attack from the opponent.

In this way, Amelia didn't have to purposely control the amount of mana she used.

Slash! Slash!

"Be careful," Arnold reminded.

"Yes!"

Arnold was fighting beside Amelia and his fighting skills were actually quite similar to her. But rather than sword, Arnold was using a pair of knives.

This was decided after some time practicing and finding out that he was not that good at other weapons.

Only knives were good.

So this has become Arnold's main weapon.

And this weapon has been strengthened so that he could use it easily when fighting against the magic beast.

Slash! Slash!

The few magic beasts around Arnold were killed easily and the knife in his hand was imbued with mana. Since one of his elements is that of metal, he could make the knife sharper and easily kill more magic beasts.

The two of them cooperated well and killed the magic beasts around them.

Bang!

"Thanks Stephen."

"Pay more attention," Stephen replied as he looked at the two people at the front helplessly. Since he became a magician who learned under Riya, Stephen started to become a mage who stay on the back.

Even if he could fight in close combat because of his martial arts' practice, but his strength was not strong enough after he followed the path of a magician. After all, a magician required more mana rather than strong physical strength.

Nevertheless, Stephen was still practicing his physical strength so that he would not be too weak.

But there were not many magic spells that Riya taught him, so his fighting skills still also relied on guns aside from magic spells.

Seeing that there were more magic beasts coming, Stephen quickly chanted, "Flowing water come forth, gentle and tough. Give me your protection, oh water, Water Shield."
