Rita's Unseen Destiny.

Chapter 17: Settling In.

Carlson pulled out his phone and sent a text to Rita. " Hey love, I just wanted to let you know that I am at home now. When you finish up at the café, can you text me ? I would like to come and pick you up and take you back home.

Rita's heart skipped a beat as she received the text. She couldn't wait to see Carlson and start their new life together. She quickly finished up her tasks at the café and sent a text back to Carlson: "Aww, that sounds perfect! I will be done in about an hour. Can't wait to see you and go home with you."

Carlson smiled as he received Rita's text. He felt grateful for their love and excitement about their future together. He replied, "Awesome, I can't wait to see you too! I will be waiting outside the café at five P. M love you! "

Rita's heart fluttered as she read the text. She felt so loved and cherished by Carlson. She replied, "I love you too!" See you soon."

As the hour passed, Rita finished up her work and said goodbye to her co-workers. She walked outside to find Carlson waiting for her, smiling and holding a bouquet of flowers. " Hey beautiful lady, ready to go home?"he asked, handing her the flowers.

Rita's heart melted at the romantic gesture. " Yes, I am so ready,"she replied, taking his hand and walking with him towards the car which was to take them home.

As they drove back home along the busy streets that day, Carlson and Rita chatted excitedly about their future together. Carlson suddenly remembered something. "Rita, don't forget that you need to move your belongings out of your old apartment to our new home," his brow furrowed in concern.

Rita's eyes widened in surprise. " Oh, goodness I totally forgot about that, "she exclaimed.

"When were you thinking of doing it?" Carlson asked, his practical side kicking in.

Rita thought for a moment. "Well, I was thinking maybe this weekend? But now that I think about it, maybe we should do it sooner? "

Carlson nodded in agreement. " Yeah, the sooner, the better. We don't want to leave it too long and risk losing any of your stuff. "

Rita nodded vigorously. " Absolutely. Let's plan it tomorrow after work?"

Carlson smiled, pulling out his phone to check his schedule. " Works for me. I will make sure to clear my schedule so we can do it together.

Rita's heart swelled with gratitude. She was so grateful to have Carlson by her side, taking care of her and helping her with all the logistics.

"Thanks Carlson, "she said, giving him a peck on the cheek. "You are the best!"

The next day, Carlson and Rita set out to move her belongings from her old apartment to their new home. They arrived at the apartment, and Rita was surprised to how much staff she had accumulated in just a few months.

"Wow, I had no idea I had so much junk!" She exclaimed, laughing.

Carlson chuckled. " Well, it's not junk, but we do need to sort through it and decide what to keep and what to donate or throw away. "

Together, they started packing up boxes and sorting through Rita's belongings. It was a long and tiring process, but they worked well together, making it a fun and enjoyable experience.

As they were packing up the last boxes, Rita phone rang. It was Emily, her best friend.

"Hey girl! How's the move going?" Emily asked.

Rita replied just great. She filled her in on the details, and she wished her good luck in shifting her belongings with Carlson to their new home.

As the sun began to set in, they took a break and sat down to enjoy some pizza and drinks which they had packed for themselves from home.

"I am so glad we did this, Rita said, exhausted but happy. " I feel like I am finally settled in now."

Carlson put his arm around her. " Me too, baby. It's great to have you all moved in and settled."

As they sat there, enjoying their pizza and each other's company, Rita's mind started to wander. She thought about how much her life had changed in the past few months. She had met Carlson, fallen in love, and now they were married and living together was all so surreal, but in the best possible way.

"Hey, what's on your mind?" Carlson asked, noticing Rita's distant expression.

Rita smiled, feeling grateful for his intuition." Just thinking about how much my life has changed, "she said. It's all so amazing."

Carlson nodded, his eyes shinning with understanding.

" I know exactly what you mean," he said. "I feel like the luckiest man to have you in my life."

After the break, Carlson and Rita had to take things to Carlson's house. Rita couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and wonder. The house was even more beautiful than she had remembered, with its sprayed gardens and towering trees.

Welcome home, Rita Carlson said, smiling as he helped her out of the car.

Rita smiled back, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Carlson for making her feel so welcome.

As they began to unload Rita's belongings from the car, Carlson suggested that they store them in the lower basement.

"That way, you can sort through them at your leisure," he said.

Rita agreed, and they spent the next few hours carrying boxes and furniture down to the basement.

As they finished up, Rita turned to Carlson with a smile.

"Thank you for doing this for me, she said," I really appreciate it."

Carlson smiled back, pulling her into a hug.

I would do anything for you, Rita, "he said." You are my home now."

As the days and months passed by, Carlson and Rita were having the time of their lives. They spent their days exploring the new home and surroundings, trying new restaurants and laughing together until their sides hurt.
