Chapter 26: Master and Disciple
Dosuke gazed at the ninjutsu scroll spread across his knees, reading the name at the top: "Flying Thunder God Technique."
He couldn't help but take a deep breath, finally obtaining this game-changing ability in the Naruto world.
Suppressing the excitement in his heart, Dosuke silently memorized the method detailed in the scroll.
After closing it, he recited the method silently several times. Opening the scroll again to verify, he confirmed he had memorized every word.
Dosuke stood, opened the library door, and stepped out.
"Tsunade-sensei, I've memorized the technique method," he said to Tsunade, who sat across from the Third Hokage.
"Lord Hokage, this is the Flying Thunder God scroll. Thank you for this opportunity," Dosuke said.
"You risked your life for this, you earned it. The village always honors those who fight for it," Tsunade said.
Your master's right, you deserve it," the Third Hokage said energetically, removing his Hokage hat.
"Let's go," Tsunade said, leading Dosuke out the door.
"Hey, hey, you're an adult, still so reckless," the Third Hokage muttered, reaching out to stop them but lowering his arm, unsure what to say.
*Can he learn it?* the Third Hokage thought.
*Never mind, if it's too hard, I will let the boy pick another* the Third Hokage thought, eyeing the Flying Thunder God scroll on the table.
"Teacher, teacher, slow down!" Dosuke shouted.
*What's the rush?* Dosuke thought, struggling to keep up.
"Teacher, don't worry. I heard ninjas in Kumogakure often use lightning attribute chakra to enhance physical fitness."
"I also invented a method using water attribute chakra to nourish the body through regular exercise," Dosuke explained, noting Tsunade's serious expression.
"What's the point of your water attribute chakra training?"
"It boosts overall body toughness and stress resistance. The softness of water chakra uniquely nourishes the body, heals internal injuries, whitens skin, removes scars, and enhances complexion."
"Teacher, if you learn it, you'll look younger."
"Are you saying I'm old?" Tsunade tapped Dosuke's head with a firm hand.
He stumbled, his head spinning from the impact.
Standing there, Dosuke shook his dizzy head and regained his balance.
Tsunade looked at him with concern. "Kid, feeling better?"
"Much better, teacher. Let's keep going," Dosuke said, walking beside her.
Tsunade nodded and continued walking.
"Dosuke, do you have a dream?" Tsunade asked suddenly.
"Me? My old dream was to become Hokage, but now I just want to be a guardian," Dosuke replied, unsure why she asked.
"Why don't you want to become Hokage anymore?" Tsunade pressed.
"With you as my teacher and the Third Hokage, I'm not needed there. So, I want to protect the people and things I care about," Dosuke answered casually.
*In truth, this body's original dream was to be Hokage, but after he arrived here, Dosuke no longer cared for it, Dosuke thought.*
There was a kid who once told me he wanted to become Hokage, but he died on the battlefield, Tsunade said.
"Dosuke, your goal feels vague," Tsunade said as they walked.
"Yes, teacher, that's why I must get stronger. Only then can I protect those I care about."
"Oh, then you'd better work hard, kid," Tsunade turned her head, flashing a bright smile at Dosuke.
*Teacher's smile gives me strength* Dosuke thought, seeing her smile.
"I'll take you to someone. He's unreliable, but he's decent at teaching apprentices," Tsunade said.
Tsunade led the way, with Dosuke following.
"Teacher, where are we going?" he asked, as she guided him to the village's edge.
"Just follow me," Tsunade replied, ignoring further questions.
She walked and paused, scanning the area.
They reached an outdoor hot spring with a "soup" sign. Tsunade grabbed a human-head-sized stone from the ground and hurled it toward a bath corner.
*Whoosh.*
The stone cut through the air.
*Boom.* It hit the ground.
As it landed, a figure in red with white hair appeared suddenly.
"Ah, ah, ah!"
"Pervert!"
"Everyone, get him!"
A group of women's voices erupted, followed by noisy chaos from the open-air bath.
A soaked, middle-aged man with white hair and wet wooden sandals emerged before Tsunade.
