Luna[ and what would you want, primeval essence stones? gu? You are far too greedy for your own good.]

Shu[ Greedy? I think im just human, but if your unable to wager anything i will have to decline your challenge.]

Luna[ how about this if i win i get to fight you first once your one month protection is over, and if you win I'll not only agree to your demands for the badges but I'll give you much more.]

Shu[ no deal, just because you won't take the deal doesn't mean they won't, and I'm done talking here. Everyone can leave now and remember the person who offers the best gu is gonna get the badges.]

With that said i shooed everyone out of my room. I wonder what gu they'll offer me, theirs no doubt they'll agree to my terms this class leader competition is only as long as the academy one year. Having two additional badges is a huge lead. The odds are high that the two b grade class leaders will accept my demands.

This class leader competition is held to empower the upcoming generation and those of A grade talent have the largest advantage. They'll be able to reach rank 1 peak stage easily by the end of the year. As for c grade talents like me I'll be lucky to reach upper stage, thats why I'll sell my badges.

I'll get guaranteed resources and strengthen myself before the end of the year. Not to mention I'll gardner less unwanted attention this way then if i were to try to win the competition myself.

...... two weeks later

After two weeks i earned 14 more primeval essence stones, and i received four letters from four class leaders saying what they'll offer me in exchange for my badges. All the class leaders expect Luna offered me a deal, what a shame Luna is rumored to be a direct descendant of a immortal. If that were true she could easily offer me a good gu in exchange.

Well theirs still the other four offers to look at. One offered me a brute force longhorn beetle a gu that gives the complete strength of a cow for five breaths. Another offered jump gu a gu that can double the jumping height of the user. The third offered a stone bones gu a gu that permanently strengthens the users bones, and the last class leader offered me two gu.

The two gu offered were beast muscles gu a gu that permanently strengthens the users muscles and berserk gu. Out of the four offers the last two were the best, the stone bones gu was offered by Madi while the two latter gu were offered by Ji. Body enhancing gu are much more valuable especially to me.

The more i strengthen my body the more my body can handle further strengthening. After some time thinking about the pros and cons i accepted Ji's offer and invited her to my dorm room. Where my badges were traded for the two gu.

After i refined the two gu Ji asked me an important question.

Ji[ so honestly tell me even though i gave you the two gu whats to stop me from not giving you the promised primeval essence stones each week. Since you didn't have me use an oath gu.]

Shu[ Do you see this gu on my head?]

Ji[ truth shines gu? Of course i do who doesn't know about this gu in our clan, i can still remember the scolding i got when i was no longer able to feed it since i lied.]

Shu[ Exactly everyone knows about this gu, if you were to not keep up your end of the deal. I can go around the whole clan calling you a liar and a cheat, a woman who promises you good things and then doesn't deliver, and thanks to this gu everyone will know i speak the truth. Everyone will then look down on you and your branch, after all who would want to work with known liars.]

Thats right this whole time i was planning on restricting the other party with reputation. Reputation is one of the greatest restrictions especially in a righteous clan. Hearing my explanation Ji smiled with her eyes closed, boy does that look terrifying. I doubt shes actually smiling because shes happy.

Ji[ I'll be sure to bring you the promised primeval essence stones by the end of each week.]

Shu[ I'll be here then..... oh and one more thing i plan on obtaining another class badge. Would you be interested on buying another badge?]

My words shocked her as she stared at me.

Ji[ who do you plan on targeting?]

Shu[ I plan on challenging Luna.]

At my words she smiled brightly and patted my back.

Ji[ then i look forward to your match, and if you do win of course I'd buy the badge.]

Not long after our conversation she left. Which was fine with me as i now had to deal with my new gu. Taking my life savings of 32 primeval essence stones i headed to the gu market. Where i sold berserk gu for 35 primeval essence stones

Berserk gu increased the users strength, speed, and endurance for three minutes, however its flaw was obvious. Those who use berserk gu lose their sense of self and become an enraged powerhouse. So those who use this gu usually pair it with a gu that can clam them or maintain their emotions, but i don't need to increase my strength more, let alone get another gu to support a gu i won't use.

I really just picked this deal to earn extra primeval essence stones. Now i have to go buy beast muscles gu food. It eats muscles of beasts which is not hard to get. I spent 20 primeval essence stones to buy jarred muscles. Nearly two months worth of food for beast muscles, I'll most likely fully strengthen my muscles by then, and once i do I'll sell both the gu and the food.

Heading to another stall i bought a couple jars of dried mushrooms for one primeval essence stone. Flower boar gu eats plain mushrooms making it an affordable gu. Its really the only gu i have to buy food for besides jab gu, all the others have their food needs met already.

I went around the gu store to take a look at certain gu. Right now i lack a healing gu, a recon gu, a storage gu, and a defensive gu. It would be great if the healing gu and defensive gu were of strength path, but the odds of me finding them let alone obtaining them are slim to none.

In this world their were different venerables so different paths grew. Unlike in the original gu world strength path never flourished let alone declined. So strength path was really only developed by lower grade talents.

Haaaaaaaa.... well even if i can't find gu that fit perfectly I'll have to find ones that work as best as they can with my path. After going around the gu shops i memorized some of the gu i might buy later on, and then i went home.

Two days went by and the only eventful thing that happened was that the two b grade class leaders fought for their badges. Just assuring me to challenge Luna for her badge as now only three people had badges. Ji who i have good ties with now, the b grade talent whose now protected for a month, and finally Luna.

Grabbing my bag i waited at the front entrance to Luna's class. As she left the class with the lot flocking around her. I yelled out loud.

Shu[ LUNA AS CLASS'S 6 LEADER I CHALLENGE YOU TO A DUAL FOR YOUR BADGE!!!]

With that said all of class 6 glared at me.

Luna[ i heard you sold your last badges, you do know what happens when you lose a class leader match while you have no badges left.]

Shu[ You get one of the gu on me besides my vital gu, or you can choose to take a badge from me in the future, but thats only if you win. I'll be waiting in the ring.]

With that said i left to the ring where i informed the referee. Not long latter Ji appeared as well as some of my class mates, and finally Luna and her class appeared. She stepped into the ring with a focused look on her face.

Referee[ Begin!]

With that said i activated drop of strength gu twice and pulled out a my bow, but as i was doing so a large amount of mist spread around the ring. This is mist gu its mainly used to distract foes as you make a get away. I then put away my bow as all this mist made it nearly impossible to shoot at her accurately.

This is what i was afraid of, the more i fought the more people would learn about my abilities. I defeated Malu with pure strength letting others know i was a strength path gu master. Thats why Madi challenged me afterwards, she thought i could only fight up close, but now they know i use a bow. Now Luna made it so i can't shoot her inhibiting me.

As i was thinking i felt an immense pressure all over me. It was so strong that it brought me down to my knees. What.... what gu is this I've never heard of a gu that can do this. I then activated drop of strength gu three more times allowing me to move once again, but i could still feel the pressure on my body.

As i was in my thoughts a white arrow was flying towards me, but it was going slow enough for me to dodge. The arrow struck the ground leaving some scorched earth in its place. This is a long range light path gu, and what ever she used to increase the pressure on me seems to also affect other things as well. Other wise that light arrow would have moved faster, but in that case she can't control what the pressure affects.

Thinking so i pulled out from my bag a strange looking sword. It was mainly white with deep green edges sticking out from the sides. This is a common weapon used by many mortals, its frame is made from a strong beast's bones while the edges are from a certain fish scale thats known for its sharpness and durability. The closest thing that i can recall it being called in my old world would be maquahuitl or an aztec sword.

As i was pulling it out another light arrow flew towards me, i dodged it and ran at the area where it came from. I soon ran into Luna who was standing still inside of a spherical looking bubble. Thats obviously a defensive gu, this girl is only rank one initial stage and she's used a total of four gu. Thats something only a high grade talent could do.

Seeing me Luna could only frown, looks like shes either stuck in that defensive bubble or she really is affected by that strong pressure gu. I quickly raised my sword and striked at the bubble causing cracks to appear on it. As i raised my weapon again, a light arrow flew towards me causing me to dodge again.

She kept on shooting light arrows at me whenever I tried to attack her, I'm not fast enough to destroy it and even if i do i won't be able to stike a second blow to win. Thinking so i activated flower boar gu giving me the full strength of a boar. Allowing me to move much more at ease

My swing was much more powerful and faster allowing me to strike the bubble shattering it instantly. My quick movement caught Luna off guard, but before she could do anything else i activated jab gu thrusting my arm that wielded my blade right at Luna's chest.

However instead of cutting into her like i thought it would, a blue membrane appeared over her body. All of the force from my attack seemed to be absorbed and just as quickly as the blue membrane appeared i felt a strong force push me back hard from where i struck. It sent my arm back dislocateing my arm from its socket. The pain was so strong i wondered why i didn't drop my blade, maybe its cause of the strengthening of violet octopus gu.

But i had bigger issues at hand, I'm one arm down and Luna has a stronger defense, and my last attack was the strongest i was capable of , but as i was thinking Luna just walked away.

Luna[ I'll be waiting at your dorm room.]

Referee[ due to interference Shuidi is the winner.]

He handed me Luna's badge, and then he reached out and a blue liquid came out and enveloped my arm. My stiff muscles felt better and soon my arm got relocated into place. After that he took back his hand and the blue liquid dissipated. A rank 2 healing gu is pretty handy huh.
