Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 332: Frozen Field

Following Yaren's announcement, everyone stood up from their seats and began to line up in a single file.

"Are there going to be contestants from other Professions outside as well?" One curious contestant raised their hand and inquired.

As much as they were afraid of Yaren, they needed to know if there were going to be more contestants. After all, forging was a process that required their attention.

Having live audiences making noise was difficult already, but if they were going to be hindered by contestants from other Professions as well, then the difficulty had just risen to another bar.

However, the person who asked didn't know if it was a blessing or a curse upon hearing Yaren's response.

"Nope, the other contestants are all going to be conducted inside. I just found it boring so I made some changes." Yaren smirked. It was clear that the moment Paradise Plains' organizer assigned her to be a conductor meant that she was going to decide the direction of the competition.

To make things worse, it seemed like no one was going to complain or attempt to change her mindset.

Xu Feng also knitted his brows in the process. 'Damn, so the competition was never altered, but it was all Yaren's decision alone.'

Truth was, the mini-test before the preliminary test was indeed suggested by Yaren alone, and the other conductors also found it applicable to eliminate the weak ones early.

Thus, they all followed suit and allowed an almost bloodbath to occur to see who had the most potential.

However, after that mini-test, everything else was back on track with little to zero arrangement change. And precisely because of this, the audience got bored rather quickly when the question became quite technical and bland.

The Emcee on the stage also found it difficult to make any commentary on it and decided to focus solely on Section B, where Yaren's arrangement made everyone's blood boil.

Being the contestant when she was the conductor was a nightmare, but being in the audience when she was the conductor was a blessing. Nothing excited the audience more than unpredictableness, followed by awesomeness, and action-packed events.

Shortly after, Yaren emerged from the building, and the crowd erupted into cheers.

"Yaren! Yaren!"

"Please show us more of the test!"

"Have the contestants suffer harder!"

Yaren greeted the audience with a friendly smile, clearly pleased with their enthusiasm.

As for the reason why the audience wanted to see the contestants suffer, they were merely trying to test their limits. They were here to recruit potential and talented individuals.

And Yaren's test was precisely targeted at pushing them to the maximum limit of their capability.

Why wouldn't the audience love Yaren when she was helping them filter out the useless and rubbish?

A few seconds later, the Emcee handed the microphone to Yaren. Once Yaren held the microphone and was about to speak, it was as if the crowd had been hit with a silencing spell.

Not a single sound could be heard amidst the thousands of people on the stage. It wasn't an exaggeration to say if a mosquito were to be here, they could hear their buzzing sound.

"I'm sure lots of people here want to scout some talented blacksmith," Yaren questioned, her voice being echoed through a formation, ensuring everyone in the audience could hear her.

"Now, I'm the same as you all. I want to see talented blacksmiths and not mediocre ones or those who managed to win through luck. Luck plays an important part in life, but not for me. I don't believe in luck when forging. If a piece of equipment were to come out amazing, it was solely because of the skills of the blacksmith, and not luck."

Nearly everyone in the audience nodded their heads in agreement.

Even Carmen had to admit that a Profession required more technical skills to succeed than luck.

Meanwhile, only Xu Feng had a sense of foreboding that Yaren was cooking up some malicious plot to hinder them.

His sense was proven correct for once, and he hated himself for guessing it.

"Since I made that monologue, I'm going to ensure luck can get the hell out of my stage," Yaren smirked and snapped her fingers. Soon, a large barrier started to surround the audience, and before they were able to comprehend the situation.

The stage where Xu Feng, Crimson Heart, and the rest of the contestants were standing felt a sudden chill. It wasn't just a sudden chill, but they soon realized the temperature was dropping fast to a cold degree.

"This is the lovely stage I created for our dear contestant, the Frozen Field," Yaren announced and cast an impressive spell.

It was a transportation spell, and a portal formed in the sky.

Numerous forging equipment such as a forge, an anvil, a vise, a hammer, and tongs began landing next to each contestant.

Everyone was stunned for a second before realizing Yaren's arrangement.

They were required to commence their forging process in the freezing temperature.

However, that wasn't even the worst part. The coldness of the Frozen Field was going to quench the fire they needed when doing the forge.

A sadistic smile appeared on Yaren's face when she glanced at the contestant.

To her surprise though, she saw two people remaining rather calm.

"Oh, contestant number 69 and 88, the two of you aren't nervous about it?" She asked in an amused tone.

Naturally, number 69 referred to Xu Feng, and 88 referred to Crimson Heart.

And before Xu Feng could respond, Crimson Heart stepped forward, her mouth breathing out cold air, and said, "Conductor Yaren wished to test our resolution and adaptability, so how can I afford to falter at a trivial obstacle?"

Nodding in approval, Yaren smiled, "As expected of someone I complimented. Then what about you?"

"Whether I'm nervous or calm, it doesn't change the fact that we are required to forge in the freezing temperature. Rather than complaining, I'd rather use the time to think about how to tackle the problem." Xu Feng replied.

"Good mindset, but hopefully, the two of you are not all talk." Yaren grinned and turned to the Emcee. "Announce the start of the second round, and they will only have 2 hours to craft a successful item to my standard."
