Chapter 1: Reincarnation.
Chapter 1
*Near coastal lands, the cries of warriors as they continued to battle through the dusking day continued to resound throughout the surrounding areas. Blood was splattered all over the place as what was left of humanity's finest warriors battled out for their kin.*
*The cries continued on and it was only a matter of time before what was left was only of the brutal stench of blood and the cold chilling night breeze. The power that humanity was now up against was one which they couldn't hope to win against but they had managed to hold out for so long.*
*Another victory had managed to be secured but once again, at the cost of every fighter who had gone out to the battlefield.*
*Was...*
" You know, it feels pretty boring when stories start out like this." A boy said, closing the laptop that lay before him, "Why start telling us some bland story when you could have literally shown it starting with the fight scene or maybe the part where their enemies start arriving."
" I get your point but this is just what goes on in web novel, you just have to ignore some paragraphs sometimes and get to the good parts. I'm telling you, dude, you'll enjoy every bit of the story once you read past the prologue. The author didn't plan much for the book at first but my god, did he improve after the first five chapters."
" I never enjoyed reading anyway. I'll just see if I can read through the first five chapters. And since it's doing this well, it's surely going to get a comic right? 'Not that I like those either."
The boy slowly opened the laptop once again and continued reading through the text once more.
*Was this the fate that humanity now had to bear? Or was it one that they were meant to change? Seeking the very power of the force that slowly drove them into extinction was their only hope.*
*Thus, the gods were called out for and the essence of darkness was granted to all of humanity. One that would save them all; those who chose to harness it watched as their chances of survival increased while those who were lacking remained at the bottom for the rest of their lives.*
*The system of humanity suddenly changed and those with power were worshipped; the weak found this method as their best means of survival while the strong quickly grew accustomed to it.*
*Thus the age of sorcery began and the cultivation of dark energy for power began. This was a record held through time and the battle against the ferocious demons continued through time.*
" The minor paragraphs of the prologue are quite interesting as she said they were. I guess it's time I meet the main character or at least his foreshadowing." He thought, raising his left arm to his face, " Oh shit, it's almost past my curfew."
" I think maybe it's time I take my leave, Josh. I'll see you in school tomorrow okay, and try not to stay awake all night reading web novels like you always do."
His friend could only smile at him as he ran through the door and onto the streets.
He was speed walking, trying to make it home as fast as he could; he had some visual deficiencies and suffered from night blindness which was why he needed to be home before dusk.
********
He had ended up being stopped on his way home by some school bullies and pulled into a dark alley where they dealt with him in peace.
He had grown to things like that happening on occasion since his house was quite close to his school; those bullies found nothing better to do than stay around the school and steal from any unfortunate students they could find.
That was only the least of his problems; dusk had finally set and the dark corner where he had been taken to had already dealt a great blow to his eyes.
He was partially blinded and didn't have anyone to help him at that moment; he didn't have his phone with him so he couldn't contact anyone to come help him.
" I guess I'll just wait for the street lights to light up then. It's only about thirty minutes from now anyway."
He bent up his legs and bent his head slightly in between them to hide his face while he patiently waited for a miracle to happen.
The lights lit up sooner than he had expected but it was only then that he remembered something else; his vision wasn't the best when it came to shining night lights either, but it was at least better than it was earlier.
(👉👈 Sorry, but I sorta forgot what those types of eyes are called, but at least you should be able to understand his predicament at the moment)
Walking through the streets was tough for him and had to stand by the side of the road for far longer than others due to the fact that he had to look more than others to know that the traffic light was green and the lights from the cars were really disturbing.
Just as he stepped onto the road, and took a few more steps forward, the loud screeching of tires was heard.
" What the!?"
The loud screams of all those watching instantly filled the air but it was already too late; the driver had been drunk and pulled the brakes a little too late.
The car slammed into the unfortunate boy and all he felt was the instance of pain as his head slammed against the road while he descended to the ground.
*Through blood and tile, lives are lost but it also takes struggles for lives to be made. If there was a place for those who have left us, then I wonder where it is.*
*Who knows if it's the same place for all? The scripture of souls is spoken about differently by different religions but science only deals with the physical anyway. This was an extraction of the sacrifice made by the dead, a hope for a savior who would bring an end to the vile demons once and for all.*
*********
The cries of a baby filled the entire room as he found his way to the light of day once again.
It was only a moment of being submerged in darkness before he was suddenly given another chance at life.
His gaze felt as hazy as it always had. But to his greatest surprise, it slowly began to clear out; he could see the face of the middle-aged woman holding onto him with a bright smile on her face.
" He's finally here my lady." She said softly, slowly handing him to another person in the room.
His eyes were trembling as he tried to make sense of the current situation but the slight twinkling of his legs he had done told him most of it; he had been reborn and whoever it was holding onto him was his mother.
" I finally have a son of my own." She said with a slight chuckle as her fingers slowly stroked his tender face.
He winked at her sudden gesture and his cute reaction prompted an immediate smile from her; the joy of her safe delivery seemed quite overwhelming for her but he on the other hand...
He had no idea of what was happening at that moment.
Sure, he had been transported to a new world but so far, there weren't any indicators as to where he currently was; the women hadn't said anything informative, and turning his head to look around was something he wasn't capable of for very obvious reasons.
" Lady Boma, feedback on the status of the delivery has been requested of me." A voice came from outside the door.
" A celebration is to be held. The inheritor of our great family's name has just been born." She said cheerfully with a bright smile on her face.
Celebration? Heir? Family name? And the name Boma?
He couldn't have mistaken his current location. The name said it all; this was a Japanese setting but he couldn't grasp where it could be.
" Don't tell me? I've been reincarnated into a fictional setting!"
