When her eyelashes fluttered open the next day, Alix felt blinded. Not because of the morning sun's light blazing like a siren but the sight of an extremely handsome face was up too close to her view. She then happened to realize that she was facing him and was completely snuggled up in his arms.
When did I turn over to this side? Wait a minute. Did he see something he wasn't supposed to?
By that she meant her weak tears which she blamed on invisible dust in the air that didn't exist.
But that question was for later. For now, she stared at his sleeping face, which was way too handsome and glowing for anybody's good.
Beauty, wealth and family - he's got everything. Tell me one good reason why I shouldn't hate him.
She thought about last night. She was pretty sure that he would try to talk to her last night but he had the presence of mind to refrain from doing so, which she highly appreciated. On top of that, his embrace was way too comfortable.
Were all men's hugs so warm?
She didn't know because she hadn't been hugged by a man this way. She couldn't remember if she had even hugged Lin at any point in time as a friend.
But whatever the reason, Alix got a relatively good night's sleep as compared to all the past nights. She seriously considered if she should upgrade his status from a piece of shit.
Jin woke up and rubbed his eyes, releasing a small yawn.
"Good morning."
His eyes widened, seeing her already awake. She wasn't a morning person, after all.
"You are up?"
"For an hour, yes."
He blinked. "You didn't freshen up?"
"Considering how your arms are wrapped around me, you would have woken up."
His lips parted. "You didn't have to think about me…I wouldn't have minded waking up earlier."
"Are you surprised? I can be very considerate. Sometimes."
Jin stared at her. Watching her expression and hearing her sharp, crisp responses as usual, it seemed as if she was slowly going back to normalcy.
"No wonder Wang Xia wanted to jump on you."
"..."
He couldn't wrap his mind with the sudden change in the topic.
"Excuse me?"
"Your sinful face, especially that morning look is way too dangerous for any normal woman. How do you feel walking like a pheromone sea everyday?"
He somehow managed to not twitch his brows by that audacious question.
He probed. "Are you mentioning this out of the blue perhaps…because you are feeling similar to what a normal woman would?"
"I am saying this because I belong to the species called woman."
"So you are feeling something indeed."
"I am saying I understand what makes a woman tick mark all the boxes."
"So you feel I tick all the boxes?"
"Don't try to put words in my mouth. I am only barely considering upgrading your status."
"From what status to what?"
Alix took her phone and showed him his own contact number. It was saved as 'Piece of shit.'
"..."
He knew that she considered him as a piece of shit through and through but not that she would actually name him after that.
"And what is my upgrade?"
Hopefully it's something decent, he prayed.
Alix made the change and showed him.

Jin was beginning to see the charm in his previous nickname.
"Can you not use a different name?" He frowned.
"What's wrong with this one?"
"This…doesn't give off the feeling like I am your husband."
"Piece of shit did?"
…She got a point.
"Who looks at my phone anyway?"
His brow twitched.
Alix stared. "What have you saved my number as?"
Jin almost eagerly blurted out before he strongly felt that some heavy scorn would come his way if he told the truth.
"...Wife."
"Why do I feel you were going to say some adjective in the beginning?" her eyes squinted.
"It's just your imagination."
"Then show me your phone."
"Fine," he pursed his lips. "It's Beautiful Wife."
"..."
She wanted a heart attack to strike her at that moment. "What's with that…cheesy nickname?"
"What's wrong with it? You are the most beautiful woman to me so Beautiful Wife. Isn't the logic simple?"
"You could at least add Crazy in the beginning. Or Evil? Psycho?"
He frowned. "I don't want people to get a wrong image of you if they happen to see your contact in my phone."
Her lips pressed into a thin line. "How cute of you to think that that image wouldn't shatter once they meet me."
"There is nothing to shatter. You are beautiful just the way you are."
She stared at him and his gaze remained fixed at hers. She stared at him more and his gaze still remained undeterred.
"I want to freshen up."
Jin didn't wish for her to leave. Not so soon. He had become way too comfortable by how Alix was snuggled up in his arms.
"Can you wait for sometime? My arm feels numb," he lied.
Alix took it seriously. "You could have moved during the night. Now you're all stiff."
He looked at her. "Hardly a price to pay when you are in my arms. I wouldn't have let go of you for anything."
She stared at him again and his gaze remained fixed at hers again. She stared at him more - again and his gaze still remained undeterred - again.
"I want to freshen up."
Jin felt like he came to a complete circle and his lie proved to be useless.
Well at least I got a few extra seconds…

When Jin was all showered up and ready, he said, "I'll bring our breakfast. Two minutes."
Her gaze bore at his.
He blinked. "Any special requests?"
Her eyes squinted further. "No."
Why did I feel she wanted to say something…
He went his way towards the living room and slightly hummed as he walked along the corridor. For some unknown reason, he felt a strong gaze directed at him. He looked back but found nobody.
What was that…
He resumed walking and felt the same gaze at him again. He was quick to turn this time and catch the culprit.
"Why…are you following me like that?" He walked back and folded his arms as he found her hiding behind a pillar.
Her eyes squinted once again as if she wanted to skin him alive. He sweated. "I'll get you whatever you want for breakfast."
"..hgsk djdi oo?"
He leaned closer. "What? I didn't catch you."
"Can I…"
He blinked once.
"Come…"
His head tipped slightly.
"Down…too…"
His eyes widened. "You-You want to have breakfast with everyone?"
