Reborn, Its Time To Save My Family And.. My Enemy!

Chapter 5: Bowed Her Head Enough!

Edward Kaczmarek raised a brow with interes. "Do not tell me duchess that.." he leaned closer to her, enjoying the attention others gave them, "you are planning to leave the duke already after fighting hard for this position." anyone would have felt embarrassed or panicked but Oriana just smiled.

She knew men and this man would not harm her. Not until she would cross his way first.

"Ah, your highness!" she took a step back and flushed, "i love my husband very much. Of course I would fight with society for him." Edward only smiled. They both knew that he was not talking about fighting with society but he played along with her jokes. The woman was shrewd! Just the type he liked. But he did not play with women like her. Submissive girls would be better for him.

"My sister! You must have met Olivia in my marriage but I know it is hard to remember her." Oriana tilted her head. The maid standing behind her understood her mistress well. She bowed her head and left to find Olivia. Smiling, Oriana continued, "though she is shy, she has grown into a beautiful woman. Your highness might like her for some time?" Oriana played with a tendril of her hair falling on her face. If not for her brain, Edward would have asked this woman to bed him.

"If she is as beautiful as you, I might take the chance." the man laughed. Ten minutes had already passed as they continued their flirting. But the maid did not return with Olivia.

Oriana was scanning the room looking distracted. Edward was called by the other nobles too. He sighed

"Looks like your sister did not have time to meet me, duchess. I hope she won't be this busy next time." The smile did not fall from his face, but his eyes went much sharper as he passed the comment before leaving.

Oriana's smile faded. She clutched her dress tightly as her breathing paced with rage. 'Olivia you are dead!' she bowed her head with force as she watched Edward leaving to meet other nobles.

The countess of Dementia had brought her daughter too. The young girl was smiling at the second prince with a rare innocent smile. Oriana's chest heaved looking at the scene.

She had invested so much in this party. She had done so much hard work and used all her connections to let Olivia meet the second prince. She had been planning this for two weeks. She heard that the second prince was bored with his last lover and threw her out of the palace when she demanded marriage.

Foolish girl! Everything was prepared for her on a silver platter, yet she missed the opportunity. Oriana walked with urgent steps. She must find her sister and teach her a lesson or she would lose her mind.

Those who still wished to congratulate her took a step back when they looked at her cold face and deadly eyes.

After searching for half of the hall, Oriana finally found Olivia. It was not only Olivia she had found. She had found her whole family. Olivia was sitting on the chair with Abi in her lap. Leo was sitting beside them. They all were enjoying the cake, her son's birthday cake.

Abi's red hair matched Olivia so well. And the smile on her face was full of mother's warmth. If anyone looked at them, they would believe that it was Olivia who had given birth to the children. Her steps paused. Her eyes narrowed and hatred filled her chest.

She had done so much! So much for them yet they only cared about their shallow emotions without understanding the value of events and time. If they failed to make their position in this party, among the nobles, would they ever be treated equally?

Did they think living in this palace was enough with no connections and no strong background? Fool! They all were fools!

"Abigail!" her voice came so cold that Olivia flinched. "You are still sick. Did I not tell you to rest in your room? Your food would be sent there? What are you doing here? What if your condition worsens or what if your disease spreads?" she walked to them and pulled Abi from Olivia's lap.

A sweet smile still adorned Oriana's face. But her eyes were so cold that Olivia froze. This expression, the coldness of her sister had stopped her everytime in the past. She had given in when Abi was snatched like that in the past.

She had given in when she planned cruel deeds and killed others brutally in the past.

"Olivia! You are the adult among them. At least you should know what is the right thing to do." Oriana hissed looking at her sister. She frowned when Olivia did not bow like she always did. But kept staring at her as if she was looking at her after a long time.

As if she was planning to rebel! The thought narrowed her eyes. Her demeanor was so cold that no one dared to take a single step toward her. Leo shifted at his position. But he did not have the courage to cross his mother. Abi was so stiff. She regretted coming out. She should have refused when Olivia came to take her. She knew this was going to happen.

"Olivia." Olivia flinched. She finally blinked and his eyes came to focus. She had seen her whole life again in front of her eyes. Her whole life.. And her death.

"Yes, It would be worrisome if Abi's condition worsened." Oriana finally breathed with relief. Perhaps she was thinking too much. "But sister, I have given her medicine before bringing her here. And the physician had suggested that she should take a walk and eat warm food. It would make her better. Don't you think her brother's birthday party would be the best place to make her feel better?"

"...."
