Reborn, Its Time To Save My Family And.. My Enemy!

Chapter 26: Clueless And Foolish!

Damon walked to his room late at night. He had spent the whole day in the library, yet he did not feel better about it.

His dark eyes were covered with frost when he opened the door. His steps paused, his eyes widened and he stared at the figure on his sofa.

Her head was falling from the armrest. Her hands were tightly wrapped around her arms. The night could be chilly due to the winds flying over the sea.

He watched as Olivia slept in his room as if it belonged to her.

"This girl is so clueless!" and foolish and.. He did not know what to say.

Walking closer, he used all his force in stamping his foot. The noise was enough to wake up a normal person. But Olivia just frowned, turned her head to the other side and continued to sleep on his sofa.

Her head now leaned on the back. She moved her legs to a comfortable position. Her dress rose higher and he could see her bare ankles.

The skin was fair and supple. Untouched and soft. Damon gulped and looked away when he realized he was being brazen.

"Cough. Cough." he coughed a few times but the girl was sleeping like she had taken weeds.

Gritting his teeth, he picked up the jar of water from the table and without mercy, he poured all the liquid on her head.

Abi jerked from her sleep. Her head shook and she gasped.

"Aaah! Do not kill me." Damon was taken aback by her reply. He frowned when the girl touched her neck as if a cold blade was there.

Only when she was sure that no one attacked her, did she close her eyes and take long deep breaths.

When her eyes opened, she looked a bit better. But he could not forget the anxiety on her face. As if she had been attacked before. As a victim, he knew those expressions well.

"Ah! It is you." Finally, Olivia remembered where she was. She smiled at Damon, not minding at all that he poured water on her.

"My sister had called for you, my lord. I have been waiting to inform you. But I must have been exhausted." she bowed her head without any reluctance, "i apologize for my mistake. And I accept my punishment."

"." who would believe it was the same girl who had glared at him in the training ground. But he still did not miss the main point.

It was only a few hours to his birthday and his step mother was calling for him. He would be a fool to think that she wanted to wish him.

"Since it had been a long time, we must hurry. She did not like waiting." Olivia continued when Damon did not reply.

His indifferent eyes stared at him coldly before he nodded and followed her. But Olivia stopped at the door.

"My lord, you must make an excuse if needed. Even if you like that you have broken your hand or leg, my sister could not object as long as the physician confirmed it." his eyes narrowed at once.

But Olivia did not explain herself or continued. She bowed her head and walked away.

Oriana was eating grapes as she flipped the pages of the book she was reading. A sweet smile on her face when the door knocked.

Her eyes narrowed at once when she noticed Olivia following Damon.

"Agatha had something to do. She had told me earlier to wait for the lord and bring him here." Frowning Oriana started at Damon. His cold and indifferent face made her cold too.

But she changed her expressions and smiled at the young man.

"Ah! Damon, my son! I have been waiting for you for a long time." she waved her hands and Damon walked closer.

Oriana stood up and took out a sword from his closet.

"Happy birthday, my dear son. You have finally turned nineteen! A perfect age to take the responsibilities of our estate." she patted his shoulders as he bowed his head and took the sword from her.

Her eyes showed the rare pride of a mother. Olivia wanted to laugh at the scene. If only, she did not know what was going to happen. She would have believed in the perfect acting of her sister too.

"Thank you mother." Damon did not take the sword out of the scabbard. His reply did not have any emotions.

"It is nothing! I am already feeling guilty that I could not arrange a party for you. You must blame me for my incompetence." he was only waiting to be dismissed in silence when Oriana smiled.

"Not at all. I think this is too little as a gift when Leo just had such a grand celebration. Others would think that I am biased toward you." She walked closer and stood in front of Damon. "But I have personally chosen this sword. I hope you will use it tomorrow." it was not the sword that took Damon's attention but her comment.

He finally raised his head and looked at her in confusion. The woman was smirking.

"Oh dear lord! Do you not know?" she gasped looking stunned and then looked around awkwardly. As if she did not want to break the news to him.

Three! Two! One! Olivia slowly counted in her heart. The woman finally sighed as if she was left with no choice. Damon's face was cold when he saw those reactions.

"I wanted to organize a party for you, Damon. But your father broke the news to me that barbarians had attacked our boundaries in the north. And someone from the family needs to go. To make sure our estate is well protected. As you have seen, your father is not as strong as before. His age is catching up to him even if he did not agree to it. And Leo is still too young. It leaves us with only one option." her eyes lowered as if she was full of pain.
