Reborn from Chaos: Chronicles of the Chicana Clã

Chapter 26: The Rebirth of Kiyden Karun

The Rebirth of Kiyden Karun

🌌 Before the End

Aiyden Karun was loved.

The youngest son of one of Hamburg's most influential families, he had everything most could only dream of: wealth, prestige, beauty, and a united family. He was the little prince among three older sisters — Elara, Misha, and Darya — who protected him like a rare jewel.

His parents treated him with tenderness and pride. He grew up surrounded by warmth, between books on philosophy and classical music.

And then there was her.

Annika Weiss.

His childhood fiancée.

The marriage had been arranged since they were kids, but Aiyden never saw it as a burden. He truly loved her. Every gesture of hers, every restrained smile, fueled the dream he had carried since the age of ten: to live and die by her side.

She used to say she would wait for the right moment. That she would only give herself to him after marriage. She was modest, reserved, composed.

But on one cold autumn day, everything fell apart.

He was leaving the conservatory when he saw the sports car parked near the lake. At first, just a familiar feminine silhouette. A glint of golden hair. A muffled laugh. He approached instinctively — and saw.

Her.

In his cousin's arms.

The patriarch's son.

The golden boy. The heir.

Kissing her with hunger, passion, and intimacy she had never shared with Aiyden.

Everything collapsed.

He froze.

Didn't scream.

Didn't confront.

Didn't cry.

He went home.

Lay down.

Fell asleep.

And never woke up again.

🌑 During the End

When his eyes opened, the world had already changed.

The once-luxurious bed was split in half. The mansion's ceiling had partially caved in. And the air... was heavy. Almost crushing. Gravity pushed everything down, as if the heavens themselves wanted to erase humanity.

Aiyden — or rather, the one now inhabiting his body — rose in silence.

"Where am I?... What is this place?... This body is young... healthy. But weak.

Where am I? What curse is this?"

The memories merged like warm mist.

The recollections of the ancient soul — who had lived through wars, fallen kingdoms, and ascended to the peak of magic and swordsmanship — now blended with Aiyden Karun's broken, fragile heart.

— "Tsk... love is always the first lie," he muttered coldly.

The ground shook. A roar rang out. Female screams echoed.

The new Aiyden ran, guided purely by instinct. In the shattered mansion hall, he saw Elara — the body's eldest sister — on her knees, trying to shield their mother.

A monstrous cat, the size of a lion with saber-like fangs, lunged forward with hungry eyes. Its striped hide shimmered with lightning-like energy.

Elara tried to rise, but gravity pinned her down.

"Shit. I can't let this happen."

Aiyden charged forward.

The cracked marble tiles splintered beneath his feet, but his body moved almost instinctively, as if he'd done this a thousand times. And in truth... he had.

"The body's structure is different, but... I can adapt."

He slid under the beast's claw, pivoting on one knee. Using the force of the motion, he launched an upward kick into the creature's ribs. A crack rang out. The beast howled in pain.

But it didn't retreat.

It lunged with its jaws wide.

Aiyden grabbed a broken wooden beam and used it as a makeshift spear. The wood sank into the creature's throat — not killing it, but enraging it further.

"Damn it, it's fast... and not alone."

Another roar answered — a second cat emerged from the far side of the room.

— "Shit. Outnumbered this early... perfect," he said with a dark smile.

With almost superhuman speed, Aiyden spun, pulling Elara back with his foot and tossing a shard of glass into the second beast's eyes to distract it.

— "You know what separates a warrior from a survivor, you feline freak?" he said to the first monster.

— "The instinct to kill without hesitation."

He dashed in with brutal precision, sliding under the creature's pounce, climbing its back with the grace of a seasoned hunter. He used gravity's pull against it — and drove a sharp iron shard into the base of its skull.

The beast collapsed with a howl.

Without pause, Aiyden hurled the bloodied beam like a spear — piercing the second monster's side just as it was about to pounce on Elara.

Two strikes.

Two fallen monsters.

Silence.

Elara, panting, looked at him with wide eyes.

— "Ai... Aiyden? You…"

He looked at her, briefly. And for the first time… he hesitated.

"Those eyes… they're familiar.

…His sister. She believed in him. Loved him.

I must honor that."

— "Are you alright, Elara?" he asked, his voice cold but steady.

She nodded, still shaken.

— "You… you're different. But you saved my life…"

He turned away without replying and looked up at the shattered sky.

"Very well, world.

You've given me a body. A new chance.

I am no longer the weak, timid Aiyden of before.

Now… I am Kiyden Karun."

"And this world… will be my new stage."
