Reborn As The Villain in A Novel

Chapter 11: The Dark World

Episode 11

Edgar and the Banshee prepared for whatever the Banshee was planning to do to Edgar, first thing they did was to seal the windows and shut the door, clear space for where they were going to sit and do their business.

The room was supposed to be dark and dim, no light was supposed to be light on because this wasn't a normal reading this was a dark reading, meaning that the things that applied to a normal reading. Didn't apply here.

Everything was set in place ready to do the reading.

"I'm sorry, I don't know if I can trust you, I mean I do not even know you. Where is Allure?" Ursula interrupted.

"Queen Ursula, I get your distress but my father wasn't feeling well today. He said something like he was waiting for a sign or something like that, so he asked me to take his place." The Banshee explained.

"Okay, but still explain to me how this thing of yours work, is it safe?" Ursula so worried about her son.

The Banshee chuckles, "looks like you have a really caring mother my Prince." Talking to Edgar, "But it's nothing you should worry about your majesty all that we will do is for Edgar to look into my eyes and his future will be revealed to me, it shouldn't even take that much time." The Banshee detailed.

Though what Ursula's being told sounded safe she was still having doubts, she was afraid and wasn't even hiding it.

"You know what we should call this thing off, come on Edgar." Ursula takes Edgar's hand.

Leviticus stops her, "My Queen please don't do this it's going to be okay, I can vow for her she's really good if not possible even greater than her own father.

Seeing what Leviticus had just done for her Banshee looked at Leviticus.

"Thank you Leviticus." She mouths.

"You are right and I'm sorry, I'm just worried about him." Ursula let go of Edgar's hand.

Edgar gets up pull his mother closer making her kneel, he hugged her so tight and she whispered to her ear.

"It's going to be okay mom, I'll be back in just a few."

Ursula couldn't help herself but cry, the way he said it was the way like someone who wasn't sure whether they'll come back or not. But she couldn't say anything, she showed a brave face.

Letting go of his mother's hand was proving to be more difficult than he thought, looking at her teary eyes and looking at Leviticus who was not showing any emotion just stood there still.

Edgar finally let go of his mother's hand and sat back down, "we can continue." He said talking to the Banshee.

"Remember what I told you, look into the abyss of my eyes." The Banshee reminded Edgar again.

After Edgar sat down and cleared his worries. The Banshee held his hands, a circle formed around them; inked in what looked like shadow smoke, then she started to say something in demon language, but Edgar could make what she was saying.

"Gods of the underworld please open the gates for us, so that we can cross over and allow me to see beyond the concrete wall of this young boy, Edgar Anos Matter what is his destiny. What do you see in him? Please allow us to come through and discover the truth." The Banshee prayed.

A small breeze appeared which was confusing since the windows were sealed shut, everything that was light weight floated circling around Edgar and the Banshee; the floating objects picked up their speed circling around, Edgar and the Banshee began to float too, small breeze releasing air waves.

Ursula stood by watching everything commence, her worries were still there but at least this time she managed to keep herself calm.

Edgar found himself in the mist of nothingness floating along side the Banshee holding hands.

"Are you ready?" The Banshee asked.

"I think so." He replied.

Just like that it felt like they were being transported through space and time, passing through what seemed like different memories all from; past, present, and future.

Each memories was flashing by Edgar couldn't catch even a glimpse of them.

Zoom

While they were being transported their bodies remained where they were in the mortal realm, in the eyes of Ursula everything seemed normal but for Leviticus he knew what had happed... Their souls and minds have been transported leaving their behind bodies.

Their journey was long because to Edgar it felt like though he couldn't make up the memories he still got a chance to experience them all.

They arrived into nothingness but infinite abyss still floating, the Banshee landed with Edgar they just stood in the middle of emptiness. They didn't fall or do anything they were in perfect balance.

"Where are we?" Edgar looking at the nothingness.

"Right now we're at the entrance of the gates." The Banshee answered.

Whatever that these two would say or were sayin' their bodies left behind would say the exact thing, meaning that Ursula and Leviticus would hear them.

"What is happening to them now?" Ursula lost.

"They are now waiting." Leviticus said.

"For what?" Ursula asked.

In the spiritual realm, where Edgar and the Banshee were something erupted from the nothingness. It was a kingdom filled and covered with; mountains, hills, and valleys that were overflowing with lakes, oceans and seas filled with lava.

The gate opened and a path was created a bridge appeared.

"Whoa" Edgar stunned by this beaty.

"Whoa indeed, welcome to the Dark World." The Banshee laughing at Edgar.

They entered and walked on the bridge Edgar had never seen something like this before, it was no doubt that his home and world was beautiful. But this right here was pure beauty.

Different creatures that were also found in the mortal realm were also found here. Creatures like; dragons, unicorns, phoenixes, satyrs and all kinds of different magical beasts.

Edgar couldn't help but get lost in this wonderful world, "They are so different from the ones in my world."

"That's because these ones you see here are dead." The Banshee explained.

Indeed the creatures of the dark world where dead; they were zombie-like but without all the torn skin and rotting flesh. These creatures were like how the dark world was all black and their rock hard skins overflowing with lava through their cracks.

Finally they reached the end of the bridge, which was long enough to take them days to get here, on the other side of the bridge was a dark forest with literally; dark trees, starting from their leaves to their branches.

A little further away from them lied a castle.

"That is where we are going." The Banshee pointed.

The dark forest landscape was like a maze after each passage that they took the landscape would change and shift.

"I'm having some serious deja vu right now." Edgar feeling like he's getting a headache.

"And why is that?" The Banshee invested.

"It's like the Caves of Secret every time I took a step or path I don't know, I would end up in a different place." He said.

"That's because the Caves of Secret is actually the dark world in the human world." The Banshee informed him.

"Well that explains the language and the architecture." Edgar joked.

After taking a few passages of the dark forest maze, Edgar was left speechless that they reached the castle after taking a few two or three passages.

The castle was big, big enough to be a whole kingdom itself. It was enormous reaching for the intoxicating clouds, a guard was waiting by the door.

It was actually a demonic orgre with two sabertooth tiger coming out of it's mouth, big hands holding an axe that looked like it was stitched from flesh.

"Password?" The orgre asked.

"Bazeek." The Banshee said.

The orgre stepped out of the way and the door opened, stepping inside the castle was super enormous the exterior wasn't doing it justice.

The crazy thing about this castle is that from the inside it really resembled the Matter castle quite a lot, even if they said things looked alike the was exactly the Matter House.

"Hey, Banshee what does the 'The Prince Is Coming' mean, who is the Prince?" Edgar asked.

"What do you mean, Edgar?" The Banshee not sure what Edgar was talking about.

"It's that what you said when that guard asked you the password." Edgar looking serious.

The Banshee couldn't believe what she just heard coming from Edgar, how did he understand what she said. No human can understand the language even if they were fluent in it, but when they came into the dark world... It becomes a foreign language, hard to understand.

"Edgar how did you understand what I said? Has your mother taught you the old language?" The Banshee let go of Edgar's hand out of surprise.

"No, not that I know off." He responded.

"Then how did you understand what I said? You shouldn't understand it especially when you come here." The Banshee intrigued.

"Abel mancosa die volum" Someone descending from the stairs said.
