Chapter 683: The Girl Who Guarded Her Treasure ( 683 )
Liana smiled softly.
Her hand clung to his arm, fingers curling just enough to remind him he wasn't going anywhere.
She didn't care how many elven girls were staring. Let them stare.
This one was hers.
Gloria leaned in with a gentle smile, brushing back a lock of hair as she whispered beside her.
"My~ I'll go get young master's food. Liana… make sure his eyes don't wander while I'm gone, yes?"
Liana smirked, her voice laced with sweet threat.
"Mm~ I'll make sure of it. Right, young master~?"
Javier blinked. His gaze darted between them.
"Eh? What do you mean check— I wasn't gonna do anything!"
Liana tightened her grip on his arm, her nails brushing his sleeve with delicate menace.
"Good~ Because if you so much as look at a girl with ears longer than mine…"
"Good~ Because if you so much as look at a girl with ears longer than mine…"
"I-I won't! Don't… don't worry, Liana. Gloria. Really." Javier smiled stiffly, sweating bullets as his eyes darted left and right like a prisoner under trial.
Liana tilted her head sweetly, smiling up at him with a look that sent a chill down his spine.
"Good~" she cooed, her voice light but terrifying.
Gloria chuckled behind her hand before turning toward the buffet table with elegant steps.
Liana, without waiting for further protest, took Javier's hand and dragged him through the crowd. Her expression calm. Her grip? Iron.
"Over here, young master~" she said with a smile that didn't allow negotiation.
She pushed him down into one of the chairs at a small, shaded table for four near the edge of the courtyard. Before he could even adjust, Liana slipped into the seat right beside him, crossing her legs and leaning slightly toward him.
"From now on," she said sweetly, resting her elbow on the table and her cheek against her palm, "me and Gloria have agreed…"
"We'll make sure you won't stray to other girls anymore~"
Javier stiffened.
Liana's hand gently slid onto his shoulder, her fingers warm… yet somehow chilling. She leaned in slightly, eyes locked on his.
"Oh don't panic, young master~" she said with sweet voice.
"As the first wife candidate, your lover, and your lovely maid," she whispered, her smile deepening, "I won't reject the other five. Gloria included."
She brushed something imaginary off his shoulder—then left her hand there, resting lightly.
"Since I'm not someone who gets too jealous with her young master~"
Javier forced a laugh. "A-Ahaha… t-that's reassuring…"
Liana tilt her head, smiling.
Looking straight to Javier eyes.
"But I won't let you add more."
Her smile widened, eyes glittering with playful threat.
"And I'm serious~"
Javier gulped.
Liana's smile didn't waver. Her tone remained gentle.
Terrifying.
"So be grateful, young master~"
She tapped his chest with her finger lightly.
"Not only do you have a beautiful elf…" she leaned closer, eyes narrowing with amusement.
"…a beautiful half-elf…" she said, clearly referring to Gloria.
"…two beautiful beastkin princesses~"
"…a demon princess…"
"…and even a dwarven princess~"
Each title rolled off her tongue with increasing weight, as if checking off a very short list of how lucky this man truly is.
"—So I think…" She let the words hang, her smile bright.
"…it's enough, right~ young master?"
"…Y-Yes. Very enough. Super enough. More than enough!"
"Good boy~" Liana giggled softly and gave his cheek a light tap, like rewarding an obedient pet. "I knew you'd understand~"
Gloria arrived gracefully, carrying two full plates stacked with delicious elven cuisine. She set them down on the table, her smile gentle and unreadable.
"Now, young master~" Liana cooed as she reached for one of the plates, picking up a neatly sliced piece of grilled meat with her fingers.
Without hesitation, she held it up in front of his mouth.
"Say 'ahh'~"
"I… I can eat by my—"
"Ahh~" she repeated with a mischievous glint in her eyes, moving the food closer until Javier had no choice but to open his mouth.
He bit down.
"Good~" Liana said proudly, already preparing the next bite.
Gloria sat beside him, folding her hands in her lap as she waited.
"Fufu~ Don't worry, young master… I'll take my turn next," she said softly, eyes warm.
Javier looked between them nervously, chewing as if his life depended on it.
While the celebration carried on, a quiet stir began among the elf girls seated near the flower arrangements. Their eyes kept drifting toward the far corner of the courtyard.
Where they were.
Liana and Gloria, two of the most elegant figures among the guests—sat close to a tall, handsome human whose presence radiated quiet intensity. He was clearly not just another visitor.
"Who is that…?" one elf girl whispered, eyes wide.
"Look at his outfit… that's the Armand emblem, isn't it?"
Another girl leaned in, lips parting. "So he's from the Armand family? Like that Marcellus?"
"This one's different though… look at his eyes. He's younger… but that face…"
"So handsome…"
"I want to talk to him."
Another girl placed a hand over her heart, her voice dreamy. "He's… really handsome…"
"I want to get closer."
"I want to drag him home and ask him to marry me…"
"…But those two beside him look terrifying," one of them whispered, shuddering slightly as Liana leaned in to whisper something into Javier's ear with a sly smile, and Gloria calmly sliced a piece of meat.
The group of elf girls nodded to each other—elegant, composed, graceful in every step—and began walking toward Javier's table like a gentle breeze of petals.
"Hello, handsome~" one of them sang sweetly.
Javier blinked.
Liana and Gloria turned their heads in sync.
Their smiles were still intact.
But their eyes.
Glowing.
Sharp.
Terrifying.
Like predators guarding their prey.
The elf girls paused mid-step, but the boldest among them stepped forward, unfazed.
"You're Marcellus's younger brother, aren't you?" she asked with a curious tilt of her head. "I can see the resemblance…"
"Umm… err…" Javier was about to answer...
When Liana stood with a flourish, smiling as she stepped in front of him.
"Ah~ sorry girls~" she said sweetly, hands clasped politely. "But this man here? He's very, very dangerous."
The elf girls blinked.
Gloria gently placed her fork down and nodded, adding calmly, "Extremely dangerous."
Liana leaned in.
"He's… how should I say it… a womanizer. The worst kind."
"Huh?"
"He's made so many girls fall in love with him, only to leave them sobbing on the ground," Liana said dramatically, putting a hand on her chest like a tragic heroine.
Gloria nodded.
"Dozens of broken hearts."
"Around a hundred girls in the Armand region are already pregnant because of him," Liana added with a perfectly serene smile. "Rumors say he even ran away from the dwarven princess's castle after leaving her love-struck."
The elf girls froze.
"W-Wait!! I didn't—!!" Javier stood up in panic.
But Gloria gently pushed him back down with her hand on his shoulder. "Sit down and be quiet, young master."
"We're under strict orders from his mother," Liana whispered, "to make sure no more victims fall under his spell."
The elf girls, now clearly alarmed, took a few steps back.
One of them murmured, "T-The dwarven princess…?"
"And the demon princess…" Gloria said softly.
"The beastkin princesses too…" Liana added.
The elf girls slowly turned around.
"T-Thank you for the warning…"
They left.
Quickly.
Javier slumped in his chair, defeated.
"…I'm ruined."
