Reborn as his captivating wife

Chapter 26: chapter 26

The Strategy Unfolds

The morning at Stratus Innovations began with a quiet storm. Elena arrived earlier than usual, greeted by a team of cybersecurity experts Sebastian had arranged. Within hours, a full security audit was underway, every data access point monitored, and every employee's activity scrutinized.

By midday, Sofia Lin ( Elena's new PA ) briefed Elena. "We've detected a few irregular file access attempts linked to external sources… all masked as routine requests. If you hadn't authorized this sweep, they would've slipped past unnoticed."

Elena's expression remained neutral, but inside she seethed. "Make sure we track everything back to its origin. Quietly. I want evidence solid enough to bury them."

Meanwhile, Julia sat in her luxury condo, completely unaware of the storm brewing. Beside her, Devon was overconfident, finalizing the next stage of his attack—a smear campaign targeting Elena's leadership credibility.

But by afternoon, cracks in their plans began to appear.

At the Hart Mansion, Sebastian received updates from Mason. "Sir, we've intercepted financial trails and linked Devon to two corporate sabotage cases in the last year. Julia's communications are also suspiciously tied to those transactions."

Sebastian's gaze turned colder. "Gather everything and prepare it for the board. They'll regret targeting my wife."

That evening, Elena sat in her bedroom, swirling a glass of red wine while reviewing the secured files. Despite the looming threats, her spirit felt oddly steady—sharpened by the sense of growing control.

A knock sounded at the door.

Sebastian entered, looking freshly returned from his office, removing his jacket casually. "Good progress?"

Elena smiled faintly. "Very good. They wanted to rattle me… instead, I'm building a bigger shield."

Sebastian settled opposite her, his eyes unreadable. "For someone who wanted a divorce, I seem to be getting deeply involved in your battles."

"Regret it yet?" Elena teased lightly.

"Not even close," Sebastian answered, his tone low, eyes briefly lingering on her with a glint of intrigue.

The air shifted slightly—no longer cold distance but a quiet acknowledgement of growing partnership.

Two weeks later, the storm broke.

Inside the Hart mansion's study, Elena closed the final dossier with a sharp click. Before her were photographs, audio recordings, financial records, and confidential transactions—every shred of evidence gathered against Julia Moore and her corrupt alliances. Each file was a nail in Julia's coffin.

Mason stood by the side, impressed. "It's more than enough, Madam."

Elena's expression was icy calm. "Good. It's time Oakridge knows who Julia Moore really is."

By noon, Elena held a private press conference. She appeared dignified, dressed in a sleek black dress, her words carefully chosen yet cutting deep. She revealed the Moore family's embezzlement, black-market connections, and Julia's repeated sabotage attempts ,including the poisoning , cyber-attacks on Stratus Innovations, and bribery of key corporate players and her decision to sever ties with the Moore family for good.

Screens across Oakridge buzzed with the breaking news. Julia's so-called perfect image crumbled within hours.

By afternoon, legal authorities raided the Moore estate. Julia was arrested in full view of reporters, her shrieking protests falling on deaf ears. The Moore family's assets were frozen pending investigation, their power base annihilated overnight.

Inside the mansion, Elena watched the televised broadcast with an unwavering gaze. Sebastian joined her, arms crossed, a rare approving smirk on his lips.

"You didn't just protect yourself," he remarked. "You wiped them off the chessboard."

Elena's lips curled into a satisfied smile. "They started this game thinking I was weak. They forgot that I don't lose."

Later that evening, the Moore family's fall was the talk of Oakridge's elite circles. Elena Hart's name, once whispered with disdain, now echoed with respect and quiet fear.
