Reborn As A Ghost: Time To Build My Undead Army!

Chapter 1402: Many New Skills

-----

Looking at this Skill, I remembered when I confronted that thing, the Original Curse.

-----

[Original Nightmare Curse Fragment: Lv3]

You have done the impossible and taken a Fragment of a monstrous, unknown Entity that dwells within that world, the {Original Cure}, an entity speculated to be the very origin of Nightmares in the world of Dream Warriors and Nightmares.

As you've not only battled with it to gain power as a Nightmare, but even managed to snap a piece of it because of the restraints and restrictions of this world, the entity, and your {Boundless} Status, this Fragment of the Original Nightmare Curse has become one with you.

Thanks to {Boundless} you aren't affected by it negatively, and it further improves and strengthens your Nightmare Foundation, making your Nightmare Core grow stronger as you develop as a True Nightmare.

With each Skill Level, this Fragment becomes larger, stronger, and merges better with you, boosting all your Nightmare Related Abilities, Stats, Magic, and Powers and their Effects by 100% (Current Bonus: 300%).

-----

When it happened I just went against that thing fearlessly, but now that I remember it, it was pretty freaky to be honest. A huge, giant eyeball thing that tried to destroy me, and even after turning into a pseudo nightmare, it was unable to control me anyway. And to make things even more hilarious, I ended taking a fragment of its powers as a result of not obeying it while still becoming a pseudo nightmare, meaning that I became "part of it".

Whatever this "Original Curse" is, it must be the origin of all Nightmares, and any new Nightmare that is born immediately becomes "part of it", which probably also means that all the Nightmare Demons are extensions of this monster's authority and powers? It doesn't help it was technically at the damn level of an eldritch god, or well, close to it.

Too bad it met its match with me, I also happened to be an Eldritch Goddess blessed by an even stronger Eldritch God, with a lot of abilities that completely negate most of its special abilities at that!

Anyway, it was an interesting Skill, although it feels more like the description for an item in my inventory, but that "inventory" is my own soul or body.

Whatever the case, there were still a few more Skills I wanted to check in detail.

-----

[Nightmare Protection: Lv3]

A powerful Skill born from the compression and combination of Mana with Nightmare Essence, through the activation of this Skill, it is possible to combine both energies and create powerful veils and barriers that protect the user and any allies from corrosive damage created by Nightmare Essence, Nightmare Miasma, and Nightmare Poison that could affect the body or the soul.

This ability not only protects from this deadly substance but also reduces total damage against Nightmare Elemental Attacks and all of their techniques and derived attacks and powers, reducing Damage Taken by 30% with an additional 5% with each Skill Level (Current Bonus: +15%).

By amassing and transformation these Veils and Barriers, it is possible to give them different shapes and forms, and even use more Mana and Nightmare Essence to release the absorbed power as an attack against any foe, which will deal 50% of the original Damage it absorbed, with an additional 25% Damage with each Skill Level (Current Bonus: +75%), but has a risk of destroying the veil or barrier.

-----

This Skill was mostly born out of necessity to protect my friends from the Nightmare Miasma, I didn't quite need it myself, but the damage reduction seems pretty tempting. If it reaches max level, that should be a 70% damage reduction! Not bad.

This coupled with the [Nightmare Resistance] Skill would make for a great damage reduction combination.

-----

[Nightmare Slayer: Lv8]

You've become a slayer of Nightmares, slaughtering hundreds of them mercilessly with both strength and ruthlessness. Your attacks come with immense force and tear them apart. Nightmares now fear you and whenever they see you, they might immediately know you're someone that hunts and destroys their kind.

As a Slayer of Nightmares, you're known as the person that saves innocents from their worst fears, embodiments of malice and humanity's sins themselves. You destroy Nightmares and open the path towards Dreams and Hopes.

Increases Damage against Nightmares and any other Nightmare-type foe by 100%, with an additional 25% with each Skill Level (Current Bonus: +200%).

Nightmares that are weaker than you will automatically fear you and become weaker, with their Stats reduced by 50% when facing you, and those that are equally strong will still feel a pressure, their stats lower by 10%. Nightmares will see you as an enemy and might desire your demise as quickly as possible.

-----

Not bad, a typical Slayer-type Title Skill, and this one comes with the whole package of damage boost and debuff to foes.

This will surely make things easier for me, so I'm quite happy for it, it has been leveling for a while now, so it's plenty strong.

It definitely helped me destroy those Nightmare Demons even more efficiently.

-----

[Crowned Pseudo Nightmare: Lv3]

After absorbing a large quantity of Nightmare Essence and assimilating it into your Body and Soul, you've begun your evolution and transformation into a Nightmare, even though you were never one. You're the first of your kind, born a non-nightmare and turning into a nightmare instead of a nightmare being born from your Dream Heart.

As you become a Nightmare, you should've agonized and died, but your unique physiology and incredible soul have allowed you to not suffer any adversities, and only grow stronger through the absorption of raw, dangerous Nightmare Essence.

As a result, you've been crowned by the unwilling {Original Curse} where all Nightmares come from, and you've become officially a Pseudo Nightmare, not quite there yet, but becoming one, and already showing several of their powers and abilities, while holding a great resistance against their power and might.

-----

And now this Skill, yeah, the result of my efforts against that big eyeball…
