Chapter 1311: The Origin Of All Nightmares
-----
The Nightmare Abyss Sea danced, as the Void beneath it constantly twisted and transformed, the emptiness of the Living Curse continued to spread, absorbing Mankind's Fears and Nightmares, their strongest energies that originated from their terrible lives and the negative energy they constantly created from their traumatic lives.
Society as a whole was what was creating Nightmares, humans placing themselves on terrible jobs, on a terrible exploitative society, with high standards for everything, always asking more, and more, and more out of people.
Not just an average salaryman, but almost any other person suffered greatly, students were constantly pressured with immense responsibilities, every day living to improve their future, barely being given any time to rest and live their lives themselves.
Adults having already achieved what the students were killing themselves to get, were constantly abused, exploited, and paid nothing for their hard work. This fueled further anger, frustration, and hatred from people.
Abuse, discrimination, racism, and all sorts of other sources of hatred continued growing greater and stronger, the world spiraled into an endless black void, and from this black void created by humanity's dark emotions and endless, hatred…
Nightmares were born.
Materailziing from the darkness emanated from humanity, from the invisible black clouds that come out of people's heads the more stressed, angered, sorrowful, or in suffering they are.
These clouds gather within a point of space and time, invisible to the naked eye, twist, and concentrate, until ultimately it becomes liquid.
Nightmare Miasma.
The first step towards Nightmares' birth, it slowly becomes a slime-like creature, too weak to do anything, it immediately seeks a source of energy, a city, an alley, anywhere.
It begins to create a nest, devouring the negative emotional clouds that emerge from human's heads, created from the energy produced by their own brains and the dark emotions that provoke their stress, an innate, dormant psychic ability within the human brain no other being can exude.
Slowly, the Nightmare Nest absorbs enough power to rapidly pupate into what's known as Nightmare Seed, and it plants itself not in the empty alley or something, but in the lower layers of space.
Rapidly, it germinates, connected to the greatest source of this Curse, the Nightmare Dimension, where all Nightmares and Dreams intersect and twist, an endless chaos born from mankind's hatred and suffering.
And then, in that very precise moment, a crack between space and time is created, a Nightmare Realm is created, and the world is shattered.
From there, Nightmares are finally given an embodiment, the Nightmare Realm takes upon conceptual fears and transforms them into real, breathing, and living beings.
And so, True Nightmares, monsters born from humanity's hatred and fear, of their suffering, sorrow, and frustrations, are born.
However, despite their dark origins, Nightmares aren't like humans themselves. They are more innocent and pure beings.
Yes, despite what most humans believe, Nightmares contained a great heart and were pure beings, true to their heart and desires.
Unlike humans, who made themselves suffer eternally, Nightmares were beings of truth and honesty.
Born from the Fear of Killing, the Nightmare will kill.
Born from the Fear of Spiders, the Spider-like Nightmare will hunt prey like one.
Born from the Fear of Falling, the Nightmare will make others fall to their deaths.
Aren't they the purest of beings?
Meanwhile, humans will kill each other despite desiring peace.
Humans will rape another of them despite desiring love.
And they will hate and hit one another, despite saying they want to be left alone.
They will say they want peace but will only bring war.
They say they want to protect the world, but they only contaminate it.
And they desire nothing but feed those in hunger, yet they let millions die of hunger.
Now, compared to Nightmares, who are something and will be that for eternity, who is the one that should inherit the world?
Who deserves it more?
The one that lives true to its own being…
Or the one that only contradicts itself endlessly, spiraling into its own destruction?
Yet, even when compared to humans, at the end…
Nightmares aren't as smart, yes.
That is something worth recognizing, humans are superior in intellect.
Until Nightmare Demons were born.
The purest, strongest, largest, mightiest concentration of a Nightmare.
A Fear so strong, it is shared by billions of people, by mostly all living beings, even.
The Nightmare Demons are born from such terrifying fears!
They take upon humanoid forms, desiring to be like them, but better.
They are the answer to the humans who said that Nightmares could never compare to them due to their intellect.
When a Nightmare with the same intellect, or superior to a human is born…
Then what's the point of humans?
Nightmare Demons will become better humans.
They will be true to their desires and true to their goals.
They are united and help one another instinctively.
They don't hate each other, or well, most of the time.
They believe, with all their heart, that they are what the Primordial Nightmare Curse birthed to replace all Humans.
"And so, that's why I'm working so hard."
"…"
The King of all Nightmare Demons sat down, calmly drinking tea as he watched the beautiful human woman in front of him.
With glasses and long silvery-white hair made into braids, she sat over a wheelchair, glancing at him in silence, and then at the endless greenery before her.
"Because Nightmare Demons are better than humans, we deserve the world, isn't that right?" he asked. "Just like humans hunted down all threatening predators in the world, and made the world safer for their own kin to exist because they were superior to mere animals… We will do the same. Humans will be hunted down to extinction, until Nightmare Demons replace them."
"What can I say?" giggled the woman. "It's a wonderful plan, my lord."
"I am fascinated with you," the King said. "A human that hate humanity so much, you'll go as far as betraying them to facilitate their demise. I must ask, even at this point… Why? Please, tell me why? I need to know. My endless curiosity is killing me, you see."
"…" She remained in silence for a moment, drinking tea as well, and then sighing. "Because I believe my sister's sacrifice was in vain. And I don't want her to suffer anymore, in regards of these monsters."
The King smiled, pleased with the answer.
"What a good sister you are."
